Personality Types

INFJ

apparently an interesting mix of introverted and extroverted tendencies, but a true introvert at heart.

I can definitely see a good chunk of me in there, but not the whole thing. I have found that personalities change all the time, so while I agree currently, I have to be careful to not define myself by my personality stereotype.

Also, is it just me, or do all of these descriptions stroke the ego a little bit? I guess it is hard not to when describing personality types.

I took the test and got ENTJ. Extravert(41%)  Intuitive(3%)  Thinking(62%)  Judging(25%).

Description:

ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshall and direct. This may be expressed with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader. The ENTJ requires little encouragement to make a plan. One ENTJ put it this way... "I make these little plans that really don't have any importance to anyone else, and then feel compelled to carry them out." While "compelled" may not describe ENTJs as a group, nevertheless the bent to plan creatively and to make those plans reality is a common theme for NJ types.

ENTJs are often "larger than life" in describing their projects or proposals. This ability may be expressed as salesmanship, story-telling facility or stand-up comedy. In combination with the natural propensity for filibuster, our hero can make it very difficult for the customer to decline.

TRADEMARK: -- "I'm really sorry you have to die." (I realize this is an overstatement. However, most Fs and other gentle souls usually chuckle knowingly at this description.)

ENTJs are decisive. They see what needs to be done, and frequently assign roles to their fellows. Few other types can equal their ability to remain resolute in conflict, sending the valiant (and often leading the charge) into the mouth of hell. When challenged, the ENTJ may by reflex become argumentative. Alternatively (s)he may unleash an icy gaze that serves notice: the ENTJ is not one to be trifled with.

my whole life I've always been INTJ. I took the test again after seeing this thread and I got INFJ.
A few years really can change somebody. INFJ power! <3

(Also, looking at the results, a majority of people on this site are Introverts. Well, i'm not surprised.  )

I've done this test a couple of times in my life and it always ended up in the IT spectrum. I don't remember the result right before this one but it's

Introvert 31% Intuitive 9% Thinking 19% Percieving 19%

Despite of how small those preferences are, I think I reassemble ITNP pretty strongly, I can be a word meaning and logic nazi at times. When I start nitpicking not many things can get me to close my mouth  :twi:

Your Type Preferences

Introvert(53%) iNtuitive(41%) Feeling(3%) Perceiving(41%)

Because you appear to have marginal or no (3%) preference of Feeling over Thinking, characteristics of more than one personality type may apply to you:
INFP and INTP.

I get pretty much the same results every time, I never have more than 3% in the "thinking" or "feeling" category. I get lost in thought pondering about scientific or existential questions like an INTP, I overthink and second-guess my decisions all the time, and I generally analyze everything. I have an impulsive desire to correct mistakes. I also believe everything is relative, that nothing is black-and-white.

On the other hand, I typically prefer to improvise and follow my instincts as opposed to planning everything ahead. I'm good at understanding other people's motives, I can sympathize with people who are completely alienated by virtually everyone else.

...But that's just my opinion.

Oh, heh.

I really don't even know what to say.

Sorry, I had removed my earlier post, hence the lack of one.

I'm an INTP but the MBTI isn't really accurate. It is a good indicator to roughly guess the personality of a person by knowing their MBTI-Type but nothing more, in general. There is a reason it is of no value in scientific psychology.

I'm surprised how many INTP and INTJ people there are here considering they are the rarest in general...

INTJ, apparently. On the pony chart that makes me like Celestia? Curses.

The pony chart seems very inaccurate to me. Twi is definitely INTJ instead of INTP. Celestia doesn't seem to be INTJ at all. She's more like INFJ or maybe she fits INTP.

I hope this doesn't offend the creator/owner, but there are somethings I would like to... point ou about th MLP Characters chart back in the first post. I highly believe that Twilight is an INTJ (Ni Te Fi Se), Rainbow is an ESFP (Se Fi Te Ni) and Fluttershy is an ISFJ (Si Fe Ti Ne). Though this is just my theory and it seem to fit. I don't know about the other ponies (Pinkie is definitely an ENFP). I haven't thought of them yet.

Back to the topic at hand, I myself is an INFP (Fi Ne Si Te). I can't give MLP examples, but I do know that Jess Mariano (Gilmore Girls), Boboiboy Halilintar/Petir (Boboiboy) and maybe Boboiboy Ais/Air (Boboiboy) are INFP.

Every single time I get INTJ, and this time is no different. Also... apparently my type is Celestia. Makes sense. I like it.

INTJ
Introvert(94%)  iNtuitive(69%)  Thinking(72%)  Judging(75%)
  • You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (94%)
  • You have distinct preference of Intuition over Sensing (69%)
  • You have distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (72%)
  • You have distinct preference of Judging over Perceiving (75%)

INTJ

Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging

To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of "definiteness", of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise -- and INTJs can have several -- they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don't know.

INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest. What prevents them from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of the type: INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion "Does it work?" to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake.

INTJs are known as the "Systems Builders" of the types, perhaps in part because they possess the unusual trait combination of imagination and reliability. Whatever system an INTJ happens to be working on is for them the equivalent of a moral cause to an INFJ; both perfectionism and disregard for authority may come into play, as INTJs can be unsparing of both themselves and the others on the project. Anyone considered to be "slacking," including superiors, will lose their respect -- and will generally be made aware of this; INTJs have also been known to take it upon themselves to implement critical decisions without consulting their supervisors or co-workers. On the other hand, they do tend to be scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual contributions that have gone into a project, and have a gift for seizing opportunities which others might not even notice.

In the broadest terms, what INTJs "do" tends to be what they "know". Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required (e.g., law, some areas of academia). INTJs can rise to management positions when they are willing to invest time in marketing their abilities as well as enhancing them, and (whether for the sake of ambition or the desire for privacy) many also find it useful to learn to simulate some degree of surface conformism in order to mask their inherent unconventionality.

Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ's Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations.

This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete', paralleling that of many Fs -- only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.

Probably the strongest INTJ assets in the interpersonal area are their intuitive abilities and their willingness to "work at" a relationship. Although as Ts they do not always have the kind of natural empathy that many Fs do, the Intuitive function can often act as a good substitute by synthesizing the probable meanings behind such things as tone of voice, turn of phrase, and facial expression. This ability can then be honed and directed by consistent, repeated efforts to understand and support those they care about, and those relationships which ultimately do become established with an INTJ tend to be characterized by their robustness, stability, and good communications.

  • 6 months later...

When I took it a few months ago I was INFP. It really does interest me how the people on these forums are overwhelmingly introverted...I think social people are more about face-to-face contact and the like.
