Man, I played like every Pokemon game, or at least one of the versions from each generation.

Such a good series, although I'm disappointed that they are making Black and White 2 instead of doing something innovative like a Pokemon MMO.

I was totally obsessed with Pokémon when I was younger...And I still am a big fan of it. I have cards, mini-figures (which I think came later), comic books, stickers, bookmarks, Pokémon Crystal on the Gameboy Color, Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon LeafGreen, Pokémon FireRed, Pokémon Emerald on the Gameboy Advance, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on the NDS, movies that came out and of course I watched the show.

I think I actually have like 1000+ cards, but I haven't counted them. I still play the games, but I do not watch the show anymore.

Who knows if they would ever do that. The 5th generation is my favorite generation. I'm actually glad they are doing a sequel instead of a remake like the previous gens. The only reason why I would see people not like this is if the people didn't buy one of the first two games.

During my childhood, I liked watching the anime (First season HELL YEAH) then I started playing Ruby version and loved it, once I got my Dsi, I played Platinum version, followed by Heartgold, then both Black and White. Yeah I Iove the Pokemon franchise, but the Pokemon started getting ugly after Gen III.

I got into Pokemon back in the first generation. Right when it got big. That was fifth grade for me.

I still play the games, and love them. To the point where I don't find them stagnant like so many others do. However, post Generation I I have only been into the games. I dropped the cards right before Generation II and realized how much of a waste of money for my parents they must have been. I think I only watched the anime a little into Generation II, but then I lost interest. And I haven't played a spin-off Pokemon game since Generation I, as well.

So... I still love the main games, but I'm not into anything else.

I'm dying to get a new DS (my old one broke ages ago) so I can play HGSS and BW. Never have. :(

That sounds so much like my situation a little over a year ago. My DS broke back in 2009. So I didn't get to play HG/SS or B/W. I got a 3DS last May, which allowed me to finally play HG/SS and B/W. Although I only just now got Black.

So I totally know how that feels. and the especially the annoyance towards these kids posting on the internet about getting a DSi XL even though they already had working versions of every other DS in existence. Also I saw that after the 3DS came out (meaning they were choosing another DS over the 3DS), so they were spoiled so bad that they flat out lost their reasoning. lol

I know they probably won't do that, though it would do very well, or at least it seems like it would. but I didn't particularly like the story of Black/White, so I don't really like the Idea of a continuation, that's just my take on it though.

But yeah, there are Pokemon that actually look good or are all right to me, take Luxray from Gen IV and Zoroark from Gen V, they actually look cool in my opinion.

So in the end what would you rather have? A remake of the story you didn't like. Or a story thats almost completely different but takes place in the same region.

I...have a weird relationship with the franchise

I'm a fan...but I never play the games and yet I LOVE Rpgs. I love the spinoff games, remember watching the anime franchise, and yet I don't really care too much for the games...yeah, I'm an odd one

Still, I love the franchise for what it is, may not be into it as everyone else may be but I still have a fondness for it...especially the anime

*sets down 3DS*

I don't always play Pokemon, but when I do, I play nonstop for about a month.

Catch 'em all my friends.

*returns to EV training*

Pikachu is #25 and Meowth is #52, which I always thought was pretty cool. Is it weird that I have so much random stuff about Pokemon memorized? Like the fact that Grovyle learns Leaf Blade at level 29 and that the only Pokemon to not learn a Normal move ever is Weedle.

I loved everything about Pokemon. Me and my bro flipped out when we got the original Charizard card. And I cried when I found out it wasn't real...

I still play the games and watch the show. The OLD seasons though. The new ones suck D:

I played pokemon as soon as it came out, and I played every game religiously up until D&P.

No, it's PocketMonsters in Japan, but they changed it around G II.

Actually, it's still called Pocket Monsters in Japan.

These are the logos for the two newest games. The katakanas spell "Pokettomonsutaa burakku 2" (Pocket Monster black 2) and "Pokettomonsutaa howaito 2" (Pocket Monster white 2)

Anyway, I've played Pokemon since I was a kid. I started with the anime. I started watching it when I was maybe 6 or 7. Then I got my first game, Pokemon Red. It was in English and I didn't speak a word of English at that time except for "yes" and "no", but I still played the hell outta this game. And I went on from there. I've played every main games so far except for Black and White (which I feel I should probably give a shot sometime)

I was into Pokemon largely during the old days. Red. Blue. Yellow. Gold. Silver. Crystal. Going to the store to get a booster pack of the TCG, frantically opening it when you get to the car and flipping out when you get a holographic. Using Pokemon with the appearance/moves you like, and not the EV/IV confusing stuff. Trying to move that truck. Catching the Unown. Getting the legendaries. Accidentally wasting your master ball on a mook and catching them with an ultra ball. Using mystery gift and wondering what you'd get. The amazingness of seeing your Pokemon in 3D on the Pokemon Stadium games.

While I did enjoy the third generation with Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and Leaf Green, the classics just have a charm to them they lack. Pokemon wasn't just a series of games. It was a phenomenon. Gotta Catch 'Em All.

I had Pearl, but never got any of the games after that. JUST MY OPINION MIND YOU but I think the direction the games and Pokemon designs at that point went are weird. It's not a nostalgia goggles thing or anything, it's just, the art style changed, the way the games played changed in a weird way (Poffins? Fashion contests? What?) and the Pokemon stopped being imaginative. "Ooh, a construction worker carrying a girder! POKEMON!". I have no problem with people who like the way the series went, because, well, people have different tastes. :P
