mega thread Why you chose your user name.

Not a very interesting story behind mine. I've been using the name MasterCombine or variations of it for the past several years (Probably since the mid-2000s).

I believe one day I was playing Counter Strike Source or one of the other Valve games, back before Steam Community was a thing, and I wanted to choose a player name (So I didn't just keep appearing in-game as "Player"). I was in love with Half Life 2 at the time, hence the "Combine" part, and for some reason I was thinking of Halo's Master Chief (Despite not being a particularly huge fan of the series, I had still enjoyed the first two games), so my username became MasterCombine. That's pretty much the whole story :P

My very first overall screenname was EAFan160. It was kinda rushed, and I was a fan of EA (among other things ad naseum). Secondly, NASCARFAN160, well, same thing.

It all started when I was just introduced to the internet in the summer of 2009.....it started with my e-mail, and then it spread to my user names on my game systems, etc... Then one eventually, I think one of them was too short for that, so I extended it to NASCARFAN160. Since then, I've been alternating between the two for numerous purposes, NASCARFAN being more used for me then EAFan.

I never really had an opportunity to change my screen name until I came here, and I realized how cool it would be to have some sort of name change. Well, one day I was foolish enough to bring up the fact that I might change my user name soon, but apparently I got numerous requests to change it immediately, and so I decided "What the heck, why not?" So, in under 5 minutes, I went to the editing profile area where I had those three words rush to my head, and boom, they appeared in my keyboard and now that is my new nickname. Plus, I thought NASCARFAN160 wasn't "creative" or "too generic". Though, it's my traditional username, along with EAFan, so I think ORG is just temporary for now. :)

King K. Rool's a name I'd used on the internet for years, the name taken from the classic Donkey Kong Country series' main villain.

I added the "oop" tidbit back in the days of MLPforums' chat, during a conversation about how at the time, all the mods' names ended with "oop". "King K. Roop" stuck with me and I liked it, so it stayed Roop. The fact I ended up becoming a chat mod not too long after that is just pure coincidence.

I didn't want to use my common internet name when I firstly joined pony forums, in case someone recognized. I was still little unsure about me being brony.

So I made a shortened version of it.

Taillesskangaru because... well, I was joining another forum wayyy back in 2005, and all the names I wanted were taken. I thought "Tailless Kangaroo" would be an appropriately haphazardly unique name so I went with that, but the forum had a 15 characters limit for usernames, so it became "taillesskangaru". You may call me TK.

I never wanted this, no one ever wanted this, but they gave it to you so you might as well be proud of it,

And I don't know where we went wrong, all I know now is I got to do something right

I chose this particular name at the moment because I had a random urge for Spanish and noticed that people seem to think that my OCs of myself (one in my avatar, named Artsy. And another one called Arl) look very Spanish.

It means "Miss Beauty Arylett"

(I already explain the Arylett part earlier in this thread.)

Aether Velvet is the name of the OC in my avatar. Drawn by me.

My name is pretty obivious here but, I had a few in other places. I use to rave heavily, and I got a few that I use from the circuit. My beaded creations earned me a few. Kandiboiraver1313 is a favorite from my past but eventually it turned to Kandikid, or Kandi. I also used JewlMaster and ponybeadArtEyeSand(That really seems like a lifetime ago now) but between my art and my rave past lies my names usually

Frenzy=chaos

hero=saviour

I'm thine saviour to shephard ye from the valley of the bored and calm to the fiery pits of interesting.

It was also my gaming handle, and people picked it up due to the disturbance on chats and forums I would cause. Anyone ever on Kong? Go to NC, see what I'm talking about it they aren't being total pricks.

EDIT: I used to use winkdink12 as my gaming handle, and while it was an easy to use callsign (watch B wink) it was very unprofessional, and I took a lot of hate from other gamers. Frenzy is still easy to use, though.

lol! I actually love sharing where my username came from. My cousins & I used to RPG a lot. One of them ran a campaign of World of Darkness, set in the WWE. Yep, vamp rasslers. (and weres and such) Really it was doubly funny because at that time there were some WWE performers who were WoD players themselves and whose ring personas came from it. :D Anyway, my character's ring name was the Dixie Hellcat. When I started posting online I used it and it stuck. I literally answer to Dixie a lot now if I get together with net buds.

I decided on mareinthemoon because the legend was well done. the internal struggle of luna fighting nightmare was never fully expressed. I love a deep emotional termoil story and I went on to make one called dark side of the moon.

It also represents the duality..

'the princess of the night

the Queen of all fright

greeting you as one by the moonlight'

At first I was gonna put 'Koach' as my username (my IRL nick, yet online alias for over 5 years). However, I went for 'Kochi' because of my current steam name:

|47th|Cpl.Kochi[LF].

I wear those tags with pride, and I would definitely wear them here if allowed.

Well. The story of my username goes years back... When I was a little filoy, only 12....

*insert dreamy music and blurriness around edges*

I got to know the amazing world of the internet through my friend, and I was applying for a Naruto fansite. I was a total japangeek back then... Or at least wanted to, but my mom and dad didn't like it too much.

I had to think of an username and just tried different japanese-finnish-japanese dictionaries... And found the word "Hana" - flower. I felt girly and decided to use Hana, and so my first username was created: ^^Hana^^.

But after a few months the moderators decided that only characters in usernames should ony include letters and puncuation marks. And I didn't notice it until I changed my name as a joke.

I WAS DEVASTATED... HEART BROKEN! MY LIFE WAS...

So I had to think of another name. At the time I was fascinated with moons and angels (still am). So I secided that my username would be either Tsukinohana or Tenshinohana (Moon's flower or angel's flower).

*end of blurry edges and dreamy music*

And that is why I am an angel's flower.

No, I an not an angel's nose (for those who know a little about japanese language.)
