PRNM is used in BWRs to meassure neutron flux, and every month we do maintenance on it.

Not very high, just up to 250V and max 30mA. Normally on a good condition detector operation voltage is about 170V and 8mA. This test is done to see how they degrade over time. Normal lifespan is about 4-6 years. If they degrade faster they may need to be changed sooner.
