food How do you make your own sandwiches at home?

Be specific!

I like to butter the bread then toast it golden then add salami, sometimes bacon, various types of cheese and sliced pickles, sometimes peppers, and various spices. I like to make sure everything is spread out equally and completely.

I smother a poor, unsuspecting slice of bread in ham, then add a few cheese slices, then a little more ham for good measure, then top it off with the final bread.

Spread twice the reccomended serving of raspberry preserves on a slice of potato wheat bread (This variety is notably wider and shall accommodate ones lack of moderation sufficiently.) followed by an equivalent serving of smooth creamy peanut butter. Place the slice with raspberry preserves on top. This will prevent it's juices from making your bread soggy should you wish to take this sandwich with you. Storing in fitted Tupperware will prevent your sandwich from become damaged on its journey. It is best to enjoy this sandwich fresh with a pint of cold milk. Two percent is my preference but while is acceptable.

Don't make them often. When I do it's usually just a grilled cheese. Maybe a breakfast sandwich with eggs over hard and bacon if I'm feeling particularly industrious. Butter the bred. Add cheese. flip them together. Flip the sandwich until golden brown. Done.

I take two slices of white bread and butter them, keeping the spread even. Not too thick and not too thin. I then proceed to grab a block of either mature or mild cheddar cheese. Depending on the condition of the cheese block, I either curse my brother for not slicing it evenly when he last used it, or cut several thick slices. I then place the slices on one slice of the bread. Sometimes I like to add salt and sometimes I'll add ham if I have any in the fridge. I then lay the other buttered slice of bread on top before cutting the sandwhich diagonally into two triangles. Sandwich is usually consumed with a cup of tea on hand, along with a packet of crisps and chocolate bar.

Now I want a sandwich. :mlp_nom:

I get a butter knife and the marg (cause I've not bought butter, and my mum doesn't buy it), but preferably butter, the bread (Soda bread or white generally) and spread the butter fairly thin

if soda bread, then I cut a quite thin slice out first

Usually an open-faced sandwich with some kind of wheat bread, some cheese (havarti is probably my favorite for sandwiches) and some cucumber on top, maybe tomato and/or salami, then topped with herbs, salt, and pepper.

Sometimes if I'm feeling fancy I'll do pickled onions and roasted peppers as toppings too.

Lately, I've been making fried egg sandwiches. They're awesome. So first, I put mayonnaise on a couple slices of bread. Heat your skillet to about 175°C or 350°F then cut the heat to a medium-low. Fry your egg however you want. I prefer over hard for a fried egg sandwich. I love over easy, but runny yolks and sandwiches don't mix, imho. Once the egg is finished cooking, take it out of the skillet, put the bread in the skillet mayo side down, put a slice of cheese (I use American cheese product because let's be real, it ain't real cheese, but hot damn does it melt good) on one of the slices and the egg on top of the cheese. This traps the heat and makes the cheese super melty. Use the spatula to check the toastiness of your bread. You want it to be golden brown. It takes probably 2 minutes to get there. If you want to go the extra mile, add a sausage patty on top of the egg.

I know mayo is a weird choice to some people. If you feel weird using mayo, use butter instead. But mayo will add a whole new dimension of flavor to the toasty side of your bread. You're missing out if you haven't tried it.

My go-to lunchtime sandwich would be a good old turkey and Swiss sammy on potato bread with mayo, black pepper, lettuce, and pickles. Pepperidge Farms makes this potato bread that is just *chefs kiss* AGH! C'est magnifique. A little expensive as bread goes but so worth it.

Whatever's in the fridge I guess; cheese, lettuces, whatever meats we got left in there. I don't really sandwich so I don't go all crazy making them.

I don’t really make them anymore.

I used to do peanut butter and honey. So I’d do peanut butter on both pieces of bread with honey on one.
