Now here's some Alex Jones level shit: I have the luck of a Twitch streamer yet I'm F2P. There is a chance that rolling more decreases your probability. The more you roll, the more you'll want to roll if you don't get what you want, and the house wins. The system might detect a string of rolls, but if those rolls are separated by considerable amount of time like they would be in a F2P account the probability remains constant. Just don't try counting rolls of streamers. The urban legend is that those rolls are weighted. Given from where the company hails, I wouldn't put it past them.

welcome to the chat! Kaeya is a good choice there. He's such a interesting character!  (cough cough I happen to still use him on my team along with Lisa) sadly he's one of the few character who you really want to learn more but the game keep overshadowing them.

I'm still not sure about her playstyle though, would be nice to have some exact details on her. I kinda have plenty of Electro characters I use, so I'm bit unsure about potential spot for her. Though from what I heard from the leaks, she is probably going to be an interesting unit.

Either way, my Ganyu already deals some nice solo damage, around 40.000 (crit damage at 85%rate 170%dmg) per fully charged arrow without buffs, nor reactions. That comes from a 4* crafted bow and not fully leveled up talent, so there's still a bit of area for improvements. And she is 'THE' end game character for Timmie's birds.  I loved playing with a bow back in the day (Amber go brrr), but these quickly became so weak with the lack of AoE and damage overall.. All bow users aren't really supposed to actually use the bow, because it deals inexistent damage, it's often about skills/bursts only. I really don't understand why bows are so weak. They give constellations for multi arrows and stuff, but the normal attack is still the same poop compared to non-bow chars. I mean yeah, weak points, that's some usage, but there's no time for that in the abyss, and why would I bother if Klee destroys enemies faster than shooting a ruin guard with a bow twice just to temporarily stun him... Even worse if there are multiple, because it's a one-by-one process. Ganyu though.. Her entire kit is great, including the normal attack, hence why I always wanted her so bad. She'll surely improve my performance in the Abyss. 

Diluc is actually not bad too, cheap and nice burst - works pretty well with Ganyu now that I have them both in party to level up their friendships. (Everyone else is maxed out)

 

With how many constellations Mona gets, I should build her too sometime. Not saying she's a bad character (actually she has some nice tricks), it's just... that it's usually her, who laughs at me for losing 50/50.  Fun fact: I was pulling hard for Ganyu on her first banner and guess what happened - I lost 50/50 to Mona and didn't manage to get Ganyu in the end.  See the pain now? 

I'd only skip when it comes to event story or when it isn't relevant to the main lore or if a fatui is involved. They do have a habit of being side-tracked a bit. The one event where I think it was the huge waste of time was going to the domain with Childe and Xinyan. All that was to tell us that scaramouche betrayed the fatui and ran away with a gnosis. I think that should never have its own event and instead give Childe another character story.  The archon quest for Liyue, there's a lot of side-track, and you only get toward the end where you get to the juicer part story. but yeah, I tried my best to pay attention but the long dialogue isn't helping.

Ganyu is a the powerhouse afterall. It's crazy though how much dmg can inflict though! and the fact you're using a craft bow as well!. Are you planning to go for another bow or sticking with this one for now? Bow users are a bit turn-off for most user since they don't do much dmg and solely have to depends on their element bust.  I think to be on the safe side with a bow is running your characters with The Viridescent Hunt. At least it will give you some extra dgm with their cyclone extra dgm. That's the bow I'm running Childe with. Equally compared to a bust or sword. The pole is okay too but I personally not a fan of polearm. But despite of bow being the weakest weapon in combat, I think they have the most fun characters, gameplay wise.  I remember how everyone worship Diluc being the best DPS, I guess he still is right? in a term of 'beginner' or as a starter. But hey better than having the other standard 5* stars. As for mona, yeah I know you mean. It's like seeing a reminder of disappointment when you're trying to pull for your  first favorite character banner. I remember getting that kind of feeling with Childe lol.

But if you're planning to keep going you still got time to farm for more gems! So hopefully you'll be able to get your ganyu c1! !  I like Yae for her character and her gameplay is so pretty. I technically won't need another electo since like you, I have plenty of good ones already. but I can't resist, now I hope to beat 50/50 .

I never pay too much attention of genshin streamer since I feel the game only does more for them due to  favoritism. After all, streamers is like a walking ad for them.

It's a habit. They are the canary in the coal mine for this and that.

 

Anyhow, yes, Diluc is not that bad, but he's better with Rosaria than Ganyu. The Nun can practically have her ulti up 24/7 with minimal investment in ER, and Diluc is similar in that regard. I'm not sure Ganyu can keep up with rotations.

Well, I'm not purchasing packs, so I have as many primos as the game gives and therefore, most of the time I have to wait for these 160 primos to pull that single wish once per 2-3 days. So usually I carry less than 160 primos. This is the first time I stacked primos that hard, and it's only because for the last 3 banner sets (these between Hu Tao and Ganyu), I already had all the characters that had a re-run and I wasn't interested in new ones (itto with the terrible geo element and shenhe with a not really promising kit, unless you'd c6 her). Now from my experience, I can't tell any difference between occasionally throwing a single wish VS yeeting a chain of nearly 200 wishes in a single day. I was just as unlucky. Although, I got a 5* at 9th wish during that burst of wishes, so if not counting losing 50/50, it's actually a somewhat better outcome than usual.

Nevertheless, the fact it is rigged in one way or another is somewhat likely. There are quite a few "silent" mechanics like this that the game doesn't mention. Everything in this game is designed in an attempt to make you want to pay to keep trying again if you really want to achieve something.

Oh that one with shikigami yes, that's a perfect example of "unbelievably fascinating" dialogue.  Everything about the main story is unnecessarily overcomplicated as if they didn't know what is what anymore themselves. Well, with how many types of different gods and stuff they come up with, it's kind of bound to not make much sense anyway. The entire Teyvat is a big mashup of random things.

I'd love to have a better, 5* bow, but I don't have any, nor I don't feel like wishing for the weapon banner, especially given I literally have 0 pity there (never wished there after getting the staff of homa). Ganyu's bow is also available in the standard banner and my pity is close to 5* there (I'm past 60 iirc), so there's hoping this bow will pop out. To be fair, the other standard bow "Skyward Harp" is good as well, so I'd be happy with that one too - hitting over 100% crit rate plus 20% more crit dmg? I'm interested in this  Knowing my luck though, it will probably be a yet another Mona, Qiqi, ooooooor Skyward Blade.  Pleeeeeeeeeease let it be a bow, any bow!

The bow from battle pass is nice indeed, but given how Ganyu works, I think Hamayumi (that crafted bow) offers better benefits for her, as it boosts the charged attack's damage by up to 48%. As for other bows users, while it kind of does something, it's still not really worth attacking with bows. There are far better options for normal attacks, like catalysts (Klee does a lot of aoe damage) and many others who easily deal over 10000 damage per hit. Bows aren't hitting that hard, and even if they are, charged arrows have a very slow firerate, and that's where the problem is imo - all bow users should have 2 stages of charged shots with special aoe effects like Ganyu has.

Kinda not a fan of polearms either, these weapons don't have that "feedback" and generally feel weak, but that's true their users usually have interesting kits. Also on the other hand, these characters are much faster in combat, which is nice on its own way.

Yeah, I remember how players were hyped for Diluc back then (and how Venti was kind of seen as an OP mad lad destroying everything on his way with the burst). Now with other 5* claymore users I'm not sure what's their stance on him nowadays, but I guess he's still a nice unit.

Two siblings of mine are also playing this game and my sister was the one to start the Curse of Mona. She got her multiple times on standard or losing 50/50 before getting anything else. Literally Mona after Mona and she has c4 there now if I'm not mistaking. If I remember correctly, she got Mona three times before getting anything else from the standard pool. My first standard character was Mona as well, also by losing 50/50. My brother got "Monanized" as well. We consider Diluc, Keqing and Jean to be the "rare" "non-fail" characters, where Mona is seen as the classic obvious fail at this point, followed by Qiqi, that also appears quite frequently and appears to be taking that meme spot in the community.

I built the pity to 20 and I think I'll pass at this point, will be saving for Yae from now on. I suspect Yae will be surrounded by 4* inazuma characters, at least partially, so even getting 4* will be more interesting than constantly getting those I have maxed out.  I'll have to check her kit first. I have too many characters I don't use.  

I hope you won't get monanized and have Yae come home.

It's for overworld to level up their friendships and they're more than enough there. I had to "babysit" much worse parties, consisting of random low lvl characters that didn't synergy at all.

Yeah, she isn't that bad now with the new healing-based set that improves her performance. I know she didn't do anything wrong, it's all MHY to blame - If everyone would have crap tons of primogems, no one would complain on randomly getting Qiqi.

Have you tried using the new system for the weapon banner? where they let you choose a specific banner weapon instead giving one or another if you won your 50/50. I assumed the bow will come back when Venti banner comes again, maybe save for it by then? most of the banner later one will be reruns for the inazuma.

Oh man that sucks- that's some major curse right there! My sister got Monazied on her first 50/50 when she tried to aim for Klee too! Except she likes mona so it works on her favors anyways  But i always thought mona is one of the least common standard to get along with Diliuc. QIqi and Kequig I seen more people getting that ruined their 50/50.

I really hope Sara will be in Yae banner- I like her as a character but didn't bother to pull for her since I was on my pity and I hate to lose it to Raidan. And I hope not! although the game has spared me with 50/50 lost twice with both childe and Xiao. So there goes all my luck for the rest of my time on this game . And yeah you can always do some more reseaching or better yet do her charcter trial to see if she's a character you need  for the team!

Got Ganyu with Xingqiu and Yanfei, and now Yun Jin as my free one, so lots of new characters to play with, and now waiting for Yae . The Lantern Rite event was pretty good! Story was a bit eh (Xiao story quest part 2 pls) but events were fine and I always like seeing the characters interacting.

Yeah, she's decent, especially when compared to other bow users.  She works well on those two too, and you don't have to run after them.

I'd like to, but nope, to me this system doesn't exist.  To use this system, one has to pull 5* three times in a single banner, so it will require saving 240 wishes to ensure, that in the worst case scenario this system will help. It's worse than with characters, where it takes 180 to guarantee getting the featured character. Stacking 240 wishes would take like, 2 months or something, and there certainly will be new characters by then.

It would be nice if these points would at least carry over to next banners, but they don't, and therefore it's pretty much for whalers only.

Staff of Homa is literally the only 5* I ever got from a weapon banner, and I got it via pity, then I left it at 0 pity to this day. There's just not enough time to wish for weapons, new characters come out too often. :c

And for weapons it's 75/25.

I know, right?  Lol, see? It's a real thing!  I do like standard characters too, I just don't like when they appear in the character event banner.  

Yeah, it likes to differ from player to player, but we've seen enough of Mona to have our opinion on that.

I do have Sara, but I don't like her kit, so never bothered building her.  Well, let's hope she appears soon so that you can get her! I wouldn't complain myself, because she'd be always better than characters I have c6 on.  

Yeah, the previews they post are always designed to make stuff look fancy, I dislike how vague these are. I always wait for the actual trial to see all the numbers before deciding whether to pull or not. So... we'll see. 👀

Nice! Have fun with them then! I'm curious about Yae too.  The Lantern Rite was nice indeed. It felt a bit less special than the first one though. Also RIP, Xiao Lanterns didn't come back. I still have plenty from the 1st Lantern Rite tho 👀

Heh, Diluc was the first character I pulled and is by far my strongest. He’s still my main because his English voice actor loves sparkling grape juice 

Looking forward to the Enkanomiya event and the Chasm, but honestly I prefer the bright colorful maps

oh oh @Rikifive she got monozied .  But hey at least you enjoy playing her! she is pretty good with large crowd control! Diluc is one character anyone wouldn't mind having to come by and ruin their 50/50- as he is pretty good anyways for a standard.

Oh you havent done the Enkanomiya event? you should get started since I think you have to complete in order to get access to the Chasm. ALthough the quest is a lot work with all the puzzle and running around.

Oh I've explored the map a bit; I was referring to the "Three Realms Gateway Offering" event that will start in the 2.5 update. Seems chasm isn't coming until 2.6, but the concept art is cool 
But yeah Inazuma has some crazy puzzles... makes me think I'm gonna have to start studying for Sumeru

Heh, Diluc was the first character I pulled and is by far my strongest. He’s still my main because his English voice actor loves sparkling grape juice 

Looking forward to the Enkanomiya event and the Chasm, but honestly I prefer the bright colorful maps  

You just got monanized!  But it's the standard banner, so it's fine.  She's nice indeed.

Diluc does some decent damage, so I can see why. 

Yeah, same actually. It's all nice, but open colorful areas also are my favorite.

Ayyyyy!  but that's totally fine on standard.  All these characters are great, as long as they don't ruin 50/50.

who knows maybe you will end up getting that weapon you want!  the standard banner give you weapons too right? But sorry if you did end up with mona, I would prob just

Hopefully, I made 80 wishes so far and still no 5*!  Yes it does, and actually one of the possible weapons is the Amos' Bow, the bow for Ganyu that just was on the weapon banner.  But if it will be Mona or Qiqi...

Holly balls! Literally the first wish on Yae's banner and she appeared!  Well it was 41st wish pity-wise with guaranteed promo char (lost 50/50 on Ganyu earlier), but as always I was expecting to get nothing 'till 70+, so getting her right away is absolutely the most welcoming surprise I could get. 

To be honest, I'm not too impressed with her combat performance, the numbers weren't anything amazing on the trial, but I hope, that with the right setup she'll perform better. Still fun and very nice character overall.

Now wondering whether to try wishing for weapons or if I should save for Kokomi I want as well...

Yeah I know that feeling too well. I remember how I started the game almost right before Childe's first banner. I saw his promo video and I really want to pull this character. Sadly I couldn't make enough to get him when he came so I was grinding and spending some and I was blessed to beat the 50/50 on him.  But then I spend again for his BP weapon-I have to say Childe is that one character I spend money on and yeah it's not something I would be proud of the fact spending money on games but...eh it's worth it at the same time.

WOW congs!!!! I think your mona curse have be lifted!  

I also beat the 50/50 and got her as well! Sadly I was hoping to get Thoma too but end up getting a random 4 star weapon??

So I guess the two of us are speared from being monaized!

 

Yae base attack are bit of a lackster- I figure it shouldn't be that surprising  since she's only a sub DPS and also a catalyst too.  And her fox totems are a bit slow between summons. But overall I think she's pretty good for a catalyst user compared to the other 5 stars ones. I'm planning to get her a BP weapon to boost her bursts dmg since her burst are pretty strong. However her crit dgm is pretty high. I only have her at lvl 60 with a crits weapon and one artifacts and she is already at 185%! plus she works well with CHilde.

So is Yae worth pulling for? I’ve been hearing mixed opinions from shes good to terrible lol.
 

I’m trying to get a feel for what others think of her before I spend rl money to get her.
