I used to play the Yugioh, Magic and Pokemon card games as a kid, though finding other players was nearly impossible so now most of the cards I have left sit around collecting dust. I still do play the Yugioh DS games though, were building a good deck doesn't cost you both arms and a leg.

 

I also have a few random packs of Chaotic, Duel Masters and Digimon cards lying around, and I'm looking into the english Vanguard at the moment. All of which have animes based off them surprisingly enough...

You have exactly the same chance of winning war that I do, unless you cheat while shuffling the deck. War is a classic example of a 0 player game. You could have 2 robots sit there and flip cards, and as long as there was something that could tell who won each hand, it would play exactly the same as a game between two humans. Except the humans get bored and go do something else

 

 

I forgot to mention, I also play blackjack and poker.

Really? You missed Ravnica standard Ravnica came out right after kamigawa and was one of the best damn blocks ever. One of the best standard environments as well. Any meta where decks like 5 color nephilims are viable at FNM is a damn good meta. I was partial to Izzet Spike and Eminent Domain, myself. I had some fun with Hunted Sigularity as well.

 

Although, the current standard environment is pretty good, as well.

 

What are you standard players running right now? I have an okay RDW. I'll probably rebuild it into RG aggro at some point. When scars rotates out, I'll be losing a lot of nice stuff. Koth, arc trail, shrine of burning rage... It's going to suck to lose those

 

Also running Niv-Mizzet, Animar, Mimeoplasm, Ghave, and Ruhan EDH. Standard and EDH are pretty much all I play these days.

 

Current meta at the moment is RG aggro, cos RDW just dosent cut it anymore xD, i play a 4 color birthing pod deck which will hopefully qualify me for the magic world cup this year , my other two friends who are going ar just playing delver though, such a boring deck imo.

Yeah, but I just play at FNM, so RDW does okay. And what kind of Delver? There are a ton of different decks all called Delver.

I think the only difference their decks ahve, is that one has an extra restoration angel over something...i can't remeber, the're playing angel delver i believe.

I go through phases.

I'll completely forget about ever liking Yu-Gi-Oh! and pretty much everything about the game.

Then, for some random reason, I'll watch and/or read something that instantly makes me remember everything I know about it.

 

This time it was ShadyVox. Again.

I run am currently running a Gem-Kinght deck, a Gishki deck, and a Chain Burn deck, while I'm testing a Yubel deck and a Batteryman deck.

As far as more... 'normalish' card games go, I enjoy a bit of (low stakes!) poker from time to time among my friends... at least until they start to realize that all I ever do is bluff. :V

You ever heard of magic workstation?

 

It lets you build decks and play them online against other people. All free, and you have access to all the cards. It's mainly used by people testing decks before they go out and buy the cards.

I've been on that program non stop with my playtesting group, oh the insane matches we've played. It's a good program, i reccomend it.

I remember that I used to play Yu-gi-Oh games on my Gameboy all the time. So much so that I could recite nearly every card 1-1000 and tell you their abilities too. 0_o

Sadly, I never really got into the actual card game.

I collect foil spiders, and spiders printed in other languages. Not quite ok the level of 100 dormant gomazoa, but still pretty cool.

 

Another of my favorite decks is one that uses the hunted creatures from ravnica, along with forbidden orchard, to give my opponent creatures. Except I also have blood seekers, suture priests, and isolations cells out

It doesn't work very well, but it's still fun.
