open Into Limbo: Worlds Collide

Her anger would subside but her enormous energy did not.

"you're either brave or stupid at this point. But I suppose no meer child would have this much bravery.... or stupidity, well in this world or dimension I guess... Please wait for a moment while I finish casting my spell."

A few seconds later the pressure she released was gone and everyPONY could move freely again.

She awoke the librarian with a spell and communicated with her.

" You may keep your job as a librarian, but you work for me now, not smile. If not, leave. Report to me at the office at the start of your day." She calmly said to her.

She then shifted her focus to both the mare." You see that big building over there...that's the school of friendship. If you need my assistance you can find me there." As you looked through the window an unfamiliar building could be seen. It wasn't there before.

She then pat Blu's head and said. "Friendship is complex, I am the head mare of the school of friendship. I give examples of how friendship works. And I am giving an example on what you do to those who are NOT your friends, Blu... You can pick who ever friend you want to have, so will i. Next time we meet, please avoid being too sensitive and complex around me, especially inside my school or else you'll have a hard time finding a friend... Oh and I don't mean it in a threatening way...sigh nevermind, I'm sure you misunderstood what I just said."

" That goes for you to...Twilight? Not really sure who you are but choose your friends wisely."

She would wait for their reply and leave by teleporting off.

It seems the giant force of magic she released was her casting a spell. Not sure if it was to show off or to test them... Who knows what that overpowered unicorn is really up to.

Meanwhile the librarian is crying at the corner.

"... Sigh... JYNXED again..."

Blu nodded, "Agreed, Smile can't be trusted to keep us safe if they can't even keep their books or the library under their control. Clearly their debts are catching up to them and they'll be wholly dissolved. This School of Friendship seems like an altogether worse replacement, not only unfit to deal with the coming and present dangers, but incapable of even their stated purpose."

He went over and collected the Kernel, making sure it was secure, before turning to the librarian, "Earlier, I saw the ruins of a castle out in the forest. Any chance there'd be books there? Something worth salvaging? Or is it wholly gutted?"

The Librarian was in a bit of a daze but could still grasp her situation.

" If I where you I'd hope and pray we didn't get teleported far from Ponyville... The headmare likes to buy or loophole SMILE properties left and right and putting it in her plot of land of collections. I heard one of my colleague took him weeks to find the exit."

The Librarian would look out to the window to check where they are.

" Phew.... She placed us right beside her school... Then I guess she wants something within this building... I have to report back..." She said before she barfs out of the window.

" Oh all the books on the ruins on the Everfree forest has been collected and placed inside the school of friendship. Apparently alot of the books are artifacts or cursed... Not sure if you'd find more there, since the headmare and the princess of friendship took the lead in the expedition."

She then thanked Dusk for worrying about her.

" Thank you... But I have a duty in SMILE... and the opportunity to work inside the school of friendship was given to me. SMILE can't miss this chance..." The Librarian's atmosphere became serious  and vengeful. It seems the librarian is not what she seems to be...

" I bid you farewell fellow agents... I must fulfill my awaited duties."

She would then leave the both of you by entering a room that reads " authorized pony only."

Blu closed his eyes, exasperated, "So we can add a history of abductions to her rap sheet, and if it's common knowledge, that means there isn't really hope for us to get reparations through whatever legal means exist here. We'll just have to secure our own justice then."

He already had a name for his plan: 'Library of Alexandria' The ultimate goal would be the liberation or ultimate destruction of the knowledge held within. But he decided this plan would only be needful if they couldn't find any other sources of the knowledge they needed, and even then, only if experimentation and simulations couldn't fill in their gaps. He'd turn to leave the library, "Not that I have any reason to trust that monster, but she doesn't have anything to gain by lying about you. So, you're a version of Twilight Sparkle from another world? Dancer spoke highly of you, or the version of you she knew. From what I've seen you seem like a good match. If her description of you is true, you probably have more than enough knowledge in your head for the both of us. Would you mind teaching me while we walk back to town?"

(scenery when exiting the library.)

While exiting the library, it seems the librarian has spoken the truth. You are in a different place. You find yourself at the premises of the School of friendship.

The place is well maintained, and was designed beautifully.

The grass is lush, the river flowing from the waterfall is clean and clear. The sky is dazzlingly blue, while at the center is the School of Friendship, towering it all.

the students reside here are mixed not only by pony kind, but different creatures as well.

You'd see dragons and griffons walking side by side, changelings and yaks enjoying at the park, Pony folks and hypogryphs conversing at the side.

Truly a Mish mash of culture in one area.

Blu was impressed by the architecture, though that was muddled by that some portion of it had been stolen. Rome too was great before it fell to the flames, and Blu would love to be the one who lit the match.

He didn't pay any mind to the myriad of creatures around him, while in any other situation he would find them intriguing, he had a mission to accomplish.

Per Dusk's comments:

14 minutes ago, Twilight Sparkle (Universe 114A) said:

"I don't like the ponies we have met at all. Lyra and Bon Bon? Wrapping us up in things we have no part in. Starlight? Insulting us for no good reason and flaunting herself over us."

"I can agree with you on the last one, but I don't fault the first two for their part. It's become clear with the introduction of the third that they may simply be outmatched for their objective, and desperate for anything they can pull to their aid. We are not exactly indebted to them, nor are we under any obligation to help. The last one though, I hope that when we meet again I will be prepared to exact my due from her."

17 minutes ago, Twilight Sparkle (Universe 114A) said:

"I have not met anyone with the name 'Dancer' or any name even close to that. I am quite curious what you know about me, the other me, that is."

Blu raised his eyebrow at that, "Oh? From what I heard, she and Twilight were good friends before Twilight left on a mission from the Princess. The two of them studied together in school. Moondancer I believe was her full name. While she wasn't too happy at being left behind without even a farewell, she spoke highly of your intelligence and memory, as well as magical ability. The question still remains though, will you teach me while we travel?"

As Blu and Dusk pass by the students who greets them with either a nod, wave or a simple hi and into a path. Both would easily find themselves where they are, since there are signs pointing where the path leads and eventually to a big post sign with a map, and lots of what seems to be requests and petitions, like what would one find in a quest board for adventurers.

The map was only showing the areas near The School of Friendship and not the whole of Equestria.

It appears the location to Everfree Forest, Ponyville, The Castle of Friendship, and smokey mountains are shown on the map.

Blu raised an eyebrow at Twilight's odd manner of asking what exactly he wanted to learn about, "Alright, no need to make this a big thing. Let's start with defensive magic, non-lethal first, something I can use to make sure I am not assaulted, abducted, or attempted murdered going forward. From there, do you know much about runes?"

When presented with the map he committed the relative locations to memory, then briefly looked over the messages. Finding out what creatures and areas these people considered dangerous would be useful, so to would be discovering what resources they lacked, or what things they considered important. "We should head back to Ponyville before anywhere else, so I can get the rest of my stuff."

(Heading back to Ponyville)

Heading back would be easy it would just take them longer to head back home due to Starlight's recent purchase.

Again Blu and Dusk would just meet random ponies greeting them and doing their own thing. The pure peacefulness of the place would feel a bit nauseating and boring once you've seen it a couple of times. They'd easily find the house with no such problem at all. One might believe that locks aren't necessary in this community. As they entered the household of Lyra Heartstrings, no pony there would great them. It was quite lonely and quiet when she wasn't around. Blu would easily find his stuff where he left it.

Blu would verify that his stuff was untouched as he collected it, storing it away on his person.

He would pay strict attention to Dusk as she demonstrated the shield spell, taking a moment to attempt for himself after he saw it demonstrated and taking pointers from Dusk as he did so. He would try until he was successful, or until he ran low on energy.

"Per runes, I'm thinking the type that would be activated on contact. For instance, if struck by a piece of metal or a creature. Explosive would be the most useful if it could be made very small, but anything you can teach me for an offensive or defensive application would be appreciated."

Blu was able to learn the basics quite well thanks to Dusk's aid and Dancer's foretold knowledge given upon him.

The lesson though was a bit taxing to the young colt's body and his eagerness to learn has forgotten his limits.

Not all unicorns are blessed to learn magic. Actually only a few can master the basics let alone the high tier ones.

Dusk might not have noticed since she too was excited to teach the young colt.

Blu was content with what he had been taught thus far, combined with what he had managed to study and catalogue in the library before Starlight stole it. He'd have to write up his notes on the shield spell into the Kernel when he had the chance, maybe there were some undiscovered synergies that it would be able to simulate?

"Per runes, what sort of materials? From what little I was able to read, it seemed like the most important part of the rune was the symbol itself, and the stability of the surface, are you refering to getting like a clay tablet to write runes on? Or are there other components necessary that I'm unaware of?"

He was surprised though when Dusk asked about him, "Well, Lyra lost her chance to this, so don't go passing it along to her, but I'll share a few things. I won't tell you what I used to be, but I was a member of the dominant species of my world, the only highly intelligent species until the ponies started appearing. According to what we could gather, The world I come from has it's own version of Equestria which existed apart from my world. Whether it was an Equestria from another dimension, or simply a different world in the same dimension, I could not say, nor did I think the distinction was relevant. Regardless, that Equestria had a creature called Discord, who destroyed that Equestria, sending the ponies there to be born on my world as members of my species. When they turned 25 they turned back into ponies, and discovered a way back to Equestria. Those who left and came back became members of my species again due to some sort of magic involved in the portal. There were some ponies in my world who decided to remain, and remain ponies, almost all of them unicorns, as they were the only ones in my world capable of using magic. Moon Dancer was one of them, she worked with my father, and my birth parents before they disappeared, trying to perfect the portal system to prevent the transformation. She taught me about magic even though I couldn't use it."

He figured that was enough to start off, "Anything else you want to know?"

Both ponies had time to relax and open up to one another, it seems a bond between the two have grown.

Upon their chatter and story of their world, time would pass quite a bit and the foal has regained back some energy.

Again the foal was wearing the device on his head that quickly absorbs magic. Which in return helps practice the body to quickly regenerate back.

This would apply to Dusk as well, but she has more energy than Blu so she would only feel a bit more drain than usual, but nothing that she can't handle. But if she does try to cast too many complex spells, she might forget and over drain herself.

But magic and stamina works differently. A rest might replenish magic energy, but stamina requires fuel to remove ones hunger.

It seems that the recent events that has happened has moved the time quite a bit, as their stomachs rumble and the clocks arms point all at the north, hinting it might be lunch time.

Blu was impressed by Dusk's honesty, "That... is much different than I had imagined. I can't say I can relate to your situation, but I can't deny the effect it's had on you. I hope you'll be able to find the solutions you're seeking. As to runes, I only know what was available in those few books they still had in the library." (So @Kujamih needs to fill me in on what he knows, or what liberties I can take on that subject) "Which is far less than the comprehensive understanding I would like, but I'm sure some experimenting will help fill in the gaps. I'm not opposed to sharing the learning experience with you."

With that he took notice of his growing hunger, "Perhaps it would be best if we took some food with us, I'm sure Lyra won't mind, she did expect us to live here after all."

The books Blu have read are plainly basic knowledge. How to write a rune, where to write a rune, how to imbue magics in a rune what kind of magics to put in a rune. And also, the books keeps on applying it on friendship and emotion and feelings, so the magic would work properly... Usually big explosive emotions such as hatred, anger and surprise does work. But it is uncontrollable and potent, to both caster and casted upon.

( Basically you need to pour magic into your writing material, either your pen or paper, both would work as well, use your emotion and scribble down what mostly represent what you want it to be... So usually letters or drawings would work.

For advance ones, some use codes which represents what they think it would be. This is quite difficult since you are making up a whole new language for your runes. But this way no one would know what your runes are used for until it is triggered.( We suggest you don't do that, for it is quite dangerous.)

For example if you write down explosion and used your emotions to pour your magic into your writing material it would work. But then again you need to know how to cast explosion magic before you can understand the emotion needed to pour it in a paper or pen.

Then when the rune has finally settled, this also depends on how highly skilled and pure and accurate your emotions are to make the runes settle faster, [settling usually takes a minute for beginners but to experts once the ink leaves the pen it is settled.] Another trigger of magic would set it off, usually runes made by beginners are easily triggered by any kind of magic, sometimes a ghost of wind could trigger the runes. But an expertly made rune would only trigger whatever the maker wants it to be triggered by.)

So it is also best to learn the type of magic you want to imbue on your runes.

(It's like programming. Doesn't mean if your a programmer you already know how to make a game or a military program or computer program.)

[Tell me if you didn't understand any of this... I don't blame you :oh_golly:]

Blu was in agreement of walking while eating, no sense sticking around where they could be harassed. "I remember a swamp in the forest, where I got dropped, if we can find it again we should be able to gather up some clay to make tablets with, which should be enough to practice runes on. Plus... I may have left some things there that might prove useful going forward."

He was happy to let Dusk lead the way, as he had been flown to the forest the first time, and carried back unconscious, so he had no sense of how to get to familiar territory.

As they head back to the Everfree forest. Dusk would take the route heading towards the animal shelter, since that would be the familiar route she took.

There they'd meet again with mister bear.

The bear would roar and charge towards Dusk and would try to grab ahold of her.

  • 2 weeks later...

@Starforce @Kujamih

Blu was surprised that there'd be a bear this close to town, but ultimately this is the sort of think he wanted to learn defensive spells for. He would cast the shield spell he was taught in an effort to at least protect himself while calling out, "Dusk! Watch out for the bear!" Unless it was obvious that Dusk had already noticed.

As the bear tried to grab ahold of Dusk, she would easily evade the bear.

The bear would have a confused look on his face, as to where the pony he tried to grab.

He would look at Blu then back to Dusk very confusingly and sad.

He would then attempt to make hand gestures to Dusk, but it was quite hard to understand what it wants from you.

But it soon goes near Dusk, but this time slowly and attempts to grab her once more but slowly and cautiously.

Blu was confused at this turn of events, mostly as the Bear had not tried to eat Dusk as soon as it had the chance. He lowered his shield after a short while, but was sure to keep Dusk between the bear and himself as much as possible, "Alright then, let's keep moving, we won't be able to find what we're looking for in the dark, probably."

As Blu, Dusk and Mr. Bear head to Everfree forest once more, they'd re visit the area where they first met each other. Where Dusk Mr. Bear and Bonbon fought the ODT, and where Blu and Lyra crash landed their vehicle.

As they left that scene and continue to head towards the castle. It seems that the forest is playing tricks on them. The ruined castle is somewhat at view from the distance, but it seems there is no progression on getting near the place.

Blu would stop them before they left the area where they had first met, "Remember, we're looking for where Alpha tried to kill me first, hmmm. " He remembered that he had not exactly been conscious for the whole trip either there or back. "This sounds like a stupid idea, but do you think you can ask the bear if there's a swamp near here? I remember sinking in mud, that would be the place to look."

The bear could only stare back at you and somewhat just gave a smile back at you.

The Everfree forest is practically a creepy, dark, humid of a swamp, so them trying to find a swamp in that forest is pretty easy... So a swamp for a landmark in the Everfree forest is kiiiiiinda.... Impractical.

But I believe that at some point Blu would remember that he climbed up a tall tree to see his surroundings before, and this time dusk and Mr. Bear is there to help him out.
