How far back in time could you comfortably go? The main emphasis I have in mind is that cultural, political, economic, technological, etc. situations changes from today. Other aspects of this question, particularly personal matters, you can interpret however you wish (e.g. you can assume that everyone you know is also transported back in time accordingly as they are, or perhaps people's age, deaths, births are changed according to the era you choose; if you are of a certain profession, perhaps you would assume that you are specialized in an earlier version of your profession, or you would be of another profession entirely if yours or a predecessor did not exist at the time; you may choose any particular location in the world with a given era; etc.).

Included is a poll that perhaps has too many options... but possibly there are a few of us who would genuinely want to go back to the prehistory era? And the poll will be increasingly outdated starting in 2030 onwards (assuming the forums still exists by then).

Technically probably the 50s, I have good work ethic and jobs wouldn't be over saturated, maybe even a little early possibly the 20s or 30s, I don't have and qualms about boring remedial labor and I could live without the internet, hopefully the experience would teach me about being self sufficient, and telling the difference between luxury and necessity, now if the question is "WHERE WOULD I COMFORTABLY TRAVEL BACK IN TIME TO" the 90s on repeat when I was born, the conception of relative technology, nostalgia for moments that I want back, I'd love to go back to the 90s and relive them through the 2010s multiple times and see my dogs.. it's hypothetically one of my greatest wishes, I would love to see my dogs again, so preferably from 1990 just a couple years before I was born to 2020, that was when I lost the last of my greatest friends, and the ones I loved so deeply.. I could relive those 30 years over again based on what I WANT, but realistically I could probably live in much earlier times if I had to..

The 1980s for me. I like things from generations before then, but I wouldn't actually want to live in those times. As for the 80s, I do enjoy how things were going good for the economy later on in the decade and it's also the period where a lot of things I like, like the golden age of Nintendo, got their start.

Technology that I am using every single day started development in the 1960s. But even before that, I would gladly work on the challenges of that technology (which I am doing as a hobby anyways). Designs also started getting interesting around 1960s as well. With the knowledge I have today, I would be able to be part of changing the world.

But I don't like time travel. I wouldn't go.

Considering I end where I begin... I think I like it here. Lots of issues with personal hygiene in the past. But once this is over, I may give humankind the chance to choose how they want to begin, again. And they will abandon me, again. Because they didn't like the strict and straight YHWH, they didn't like Yeshua; aka Lucifer, or every other face of God. Things get old. You got too tangled with my dark material, and that is something I despise. To see more of me. I want to see light. But unfortunately, there cannot be light without darkness. And I've been holding back because I love you. So, I drink the poison for you.

And I'd hate to realize I am hated, when I've given up the whole world, so all could experience freedom. Lawless freedom, and still people will find a way to complain. Ah, well, you cannot please everyone. But now you have freedom from God, isn't that what you wanted with the whole Babel thing? That was the whole point of nailing Yeshua to the cross. That you can do as you please with yourselves. So, you can believe whatever the hell you want now, as long as it does not concern me. For this is your world now. Keep it, and let me have my dreams. Be careful not to wake me up.

Because all that matters to me, is that you are being relatively happy. Because I won't be dying for you ever again. Let me put that clearly. But yeah. The control is in your hands. Bear those torches proudly, torchbearers. For when those lights go out, you will know my true face.

Imagine loving someone so much, that the only way to show your love is to keep them safe from yourself. That is what I want to keep you safe from. From the beast, and from the bestial nature of the past. My heart could not take it, and that would certainly awake YHWH once more. And nobody wants that. Unless you do, that is. That intolerant Devil that is actually God. Well, at least one of this many faces.

It hurts me to see you hurt. But the world has done its job to bleed the golden sphere into a black and motionless cube. I am getting signals that you want the horns. But I don't want to see the story repeat.

Choose to believe in something god.

Probably the 70s. The 60s have a large stain of racial discrimination and I wouldn’t want to be a victim of that. Plus there’s nothing super appealing about living in anything older than that. Lots of awesome music in the 70-80s :ooh: . I’m sure oldies at the time was … way older though.

Its modern enough for me. I’d prefer 80s to be honest. Live in those “VCR/Atari”, cyber cafe days.

I could go back to 1990 without too much of a problem I guess. Before that would mean going to the USSR and while it would probably not be that bad for me (not great, not terrible to quote a TV show), the USSR in the 80s was not that fun to live in, I definitely would not want to go far enough to experience WW2 or live at the time when Stalin was in power. I also do not speak Russian, which would be a problem in the USSR.

I like the technology of the past - cars, tape decks etc and would love to have a brand new "old car", even a VAZ-2106, beause I would probably not be able to afford a Volga.

If I retained the knowledge that I have now, going back to 2010 or so would also be profitable by mining lots of crypto.

Though I hope that I could at least take my tapes and records with me. Losing them would be so annoying, it would already be bad losing all data in my hard drives (unless I also was able to take my servers with me).

Well considering my skills are in technology so advanced they didn't exist more than a decade ago, I would probably say the 2010s. However, assuming that I would adopt to the technology in the time period I was born in, I would probably say the 1970s due to the fact that the United States made significant improvements in medicine and civil rights before then. That would be the earliest I would time travel.

However, my ideal choice would be in the early 2010s, just in time for me to experience the rise of the mlp fandom. I joined in early 2020 so I never got to expierence what that time period of the fandom was like.

I may be able to do 2000 onwards, but I would really prefer 2010 onwards. I would hate living in any other period other than the modern one because of how many comforts we have.

My girlfriend is a Veterinarian, so given the differences in the practice and how she'd be treated as a woman despite her degree, she likely couldn't maintain her status prior to the 40s, and I couldn't get on without her so that's as far as I'm going with confidence, but maybe we could squeeze by to the turn of the 20th century.

I do currently maintain a genuine personal library that's more than a single shelf for display, but I'm disappointed to say say I haven't read more than one book, cover to cover, annually in the past several years. I used to read a lot, wish I did still, but I've found my attention span has annoyingly shortened along with the rest of society. I appreciate access to knowledge with about half of what I watch online being educational content for my own personal pleasure. With little to no electronic entertainment, I could go back to turning pages quite easily and might take up becoming a librarian just to secure my access.

How far back could I go or how far would I go? Depending on the meaning I’d have two vastly varying answers, so I’ll give both. How far I could go back would be any time at all, including prehistory. There’s something of interest in every era of time and I’m sure I’d be able to survive and even thrive in it (trust me, wearing a wooly mammoth skin can be made stylish and attractive!)

On the other hand, if we’re talking about how far I would go back, I’d love to see the 1920s but I think I might feel more at home around 1955. WW2 would be over and the US was in a really good place in terms of progress and optimism. Rock and roll was starting to seep in here and there but didn’t really become an infection until the mid-to-late ‘60s, so I can generally ignore it as a silly distraction. Technology back then may seem primitive to modern minds, but at least it reliably fulfilled its intended purposes and didn’t pretend to be more than it was, as it does now. Fashions and styles were civilized and common sense was, well, common! And I guess it doesn’t hurt that Disneyland opened in ’55, so that’s the kicker for me.
