When Older Technology is Better

Recommended Posts

I cannot say that I am particularly enthused by OLED displays, at least as they exist now. I have had devices with OLED displays that have acquired "burn-in" (though, technically not actually a burn-in) rather quickly, whereas older LCD displays I have had still work just fine after over a decade. While some have noted that one must be mindful about setting OLED displays at a lower brightness levels, ensuring to turn it off while not in use, etc., the very fact that I need to be more proactive to ensure an OLED display's longevity is rather inconvenient to me, compared to having an effective "no-maintenance" mindset I have had with LCD displays.
