Breaking the social norm.

Well, one time I didn't brush my hair in the morning (actually messed it up even more purposely), put on my ugliest, most ripped, clothes, rolled around in dirt for a little bit, then went into my room, grabbed a few handfuls of quarters, and put them in my pocket (sweat pants pockets, lulz). Then I went and stood outside a bank, leaning against the wall, waiting for people to come by. Whenever someone was walking into the bank, I would stop them and ask, "Do you have a quarter?" in a really nasty, ugly voice. If people said yes, and offered me one, I would stop them and say, "Oh, no, it's okay, I don't need one," but if people would say "No, I don't, sorry," I would reach into my pocket, pull out a quarter, and hand it to them, and say, "Well, now you do," in my normal voice.

People would feel so bad. I looked like a total hobo, and I was giving out quarters to people who had money. It's funny how people reacted. Most of them just said, "Oh.... thanks...." and just continued into the bank. I made sure to stop people the way in, that way they would be all nervous to come out of the bank and face me again. It's hilarious how people respond to things like that.

I tend to break social rules most of the time without realising it. Yep, Aspergers. :P

Twice. In Social Psychology in undergrad we were given two random assignments from a hat. We had to act them out, take data and then report on the findings.

1. I had to go on elevators and face the people instead of the door and just stare at people. This one wasn't so exciting but people generally seemed nervous.

now...

2. I also had to walk around the city and say hey. If anyone responded with "What's up?" I was to stop and tell them how my wife had left me and how I was feeling depressed and didn't know if things were worth it.

I have never seen such discomfort and fear on people's faces. They just couldn't believe that I answered in a more than superficial manner.

This one time me and 2 of my friends went on this ride at the local carnival. They started playing "Rolling in the Deep" so we started screaming out the lyrics. After we got off all these rude people were staring at us.

This other time me and the two friends mentioned earlier were walking downtown and we saw a man getting his hair cut. We walked up to the window and just started staring at him. We stayed there until the lady cutting his hair started walking toward the door.
