My reaction to Howard stern's attack on Bronies

I'm not phased one bit. He's a "shock jock", a radio commentator who's job is to make people pissed off so he can gain profit from people's anger and get a cult following of immature lunkheads.

 

I find him hilarious on America's Got Talent, actually. Anybody who takes this audio bit seriously is just a tad overreacting. True, what he said and what he sampled was pretty stupid, but that's his job, unfortunately. He's probably secretly fond of Bronies. We'll never know.

Alright, so I needed t a moment to collect my thoughts after watching this video. Not because I think that Howard made any sort of intelligent point that I needed to look in to, but to contemplate the sheer stupidity of this.

I still don't wish to take any part in anything that has to do with howard. America's got talent just premiered yesterday but I don't want to watch because of his 10 month old review, although I have a little temptation to. He was a very funny guy in both AGT and his own show. But still, this is our main, (and small) flaw within the fandom and his report is a result for having it. The things that still bugs me are WHY he would view us like this, and to whoever listened listened and bought it, because the hatred on the fandom might become more terrifiying, without use of the internet. Pornography has become a common problem on the internet and I know, including my mom, who are strictly against it. However I haven't seen anyone bring hatred to the bronies at all. So untill someone else, maybe NBC for once, reports on us whether good or bad, let's chill and have nothing to be afraid of....yet.

Howard Stern is a professional troll so this kind of stuff is literally his bread and butter. It is possible he might not even believe the BS he is spewing but says it anyway because he is a sellout who will say anything for shock value whether he even believes it or thinks it is funny or not. It is best just to ignore it and move on.

This doesn't bother me because I let something that a lowlife such as Howard Stern upset me and ruin my day.

 

The part that bothers me is he took guys, interviewed them then completely ignored any possibility that he could learn something from another human perspective and started out the whole thing with a completely incorrect notion to inform his public audience "This is what Bronies are".

This will be my last statement on this topic; it is old news and has practically been buried at this point, but I feel like I must address this.

 

I realize he is a professional shock comedian. Guys like Howard Stern and Daniel Tosh (Who has also publicly trashed Bronies) purposely find controversial topics and handle them in the most controversial way. Why do they do this? Because it will stir up discussion, thus people will remember what they had to say. In that sense, he has succeed; This thread is a year old and people are still posting here.

 

That being said, it doesn't change or excuse anything. In the end, Howard Stern is a professional asshole; but he's still an asshole. Ignorant, bias and unintelligible statements don't suddenly become acceptable because he gets paid for it.

 

Everyone must be held accountable for what they declare to the public. I could really care less if it is really a deeply held belief of Stern, or if he's just spouting nonsense to piss people off.

I would watch it but in all honesty I can say this.

I don't care that he says negative things I don't care that he puts everyone in the clopper category because I don't care that he has an opinion.

If he really believes that this is true and still remains negative then whatever. I'm not going to correct him. I'm not going to shove ponies down his throat and anyone who agrees with him. And if these posts are our reactions then you have to remember that we are a bunch of guys, girls and everything in between watching something we shouldn't. People are going to react like this and there is nothing you can do. So rather than saying negative things about him and what he says, just pay it no attention and let them see what we should all truly be like. Loving and tolerating of everyone. Even those that opress us.

The issue I find with this (not with you) is that his job involves making those people he doesn't like look bad to the general public so that others will see his way. And then using interviews with the 1-2% of fans who are the types that spend 90% of their life in their room admiring their mlp toy collection and whatnot as if to show that's how the remaining 98-99% of the fandom is like. He is an idiot, but he's deliberately painting people in the wrong way. What's even more disturbing is he seems to like it.
