In my opinion it's We're back! A dinosaur's Story.

I loved it as a kid and still do,but it's so strange!!!

The best way to describe it is like a mashup between Jurassic Park and The land before Time

Fantastic Mr Fox was pretty good but kinda weird too

Definitely weird. It contrasts indian mythology with the creator's divorce through use of animation, shadow puppets and 1920s and 30s jazz age singing. It's...better than it sounds?

Try "James and the Giant Peach" Weird and random as hell movie. I loved it as a kid and I just rewatched it sometime and realized just how frickin' weird that movie was. Does this even count as an animated movie, though. It's kind of a weird mix of animated and IRL. Ick and James' whiny voice makes me cringe.

Try "James and the Giant Peach" Weird and random as hell movie. I loved it as a kid and I just rewatched it sometime and realized just how frickin' weird that movie was. I loved Were Back as a kid to. Watching it now I still like it but it definetly is weird now.

However I know it's a anime so it might be cheating a bit but

 

Paprika is really weird, especially since it deals with dreams.

I only include it since it did have a limited theatrical release.

Coraline and James and the Giant Peach I will admit are weird. Tim Burton puts this type of weirdness into his kids films.

"Strit Og Stumme" Or other wise known as "Dreaming Of Paradise". Basic plot outline is of a post-apocalyptic world where humans are subservient to rats and two children looking for their own personal paradise. All I remember from it though is how odd everything was in that movie.

Agreed 100%. I felt like it was meant to be a kid friendly version of Jurassic Park. It was even released in the same year as Jurassic Park.

Exactly the movie I was going to say. Really surreal and disturbing but definitely an amazing piece of art.

Another one is Fantasic Planet. It’s a French 70s movie set in a world where humans are kept as pets by giant blue humanoid aliens, then they start to rebel. It’s super weird.

Going far back as a kid I think the weirdest for me was “Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure“. Watching it again is like man- being on shroom.

Twice Upon A Time (1983). This was made by Lucasfilm and was animated in the cutout/‘Lumage’ style. It’s entertaining and has some engaging characters but is very unusual by any standard.
