What sort of graphics card do you have? In addition, do you know if your drivers are up to date?

Well, when I get a better laptop/build a proper gaming desktop I might give this another go, but at the moment I cannot play.

So I played this a bit today (thanks a lot to Klopp for the trial code!) and its really fun. The movement mechanics make it so different from the majority of fps's out there.

My only problem is how difficult it is to hit anyone with anything other than area damage weapons, although I have only played as the two classes you start with so I don't know what the other weapons are like.

Well, Tribes has always been more about projectile weapons than fully-auto bullet weapons - as such they've made the assault rifle and such a bit difficult to use (though still perfectly viable with practice) in order to keep the spotlight on the spinfusor and similar weapons.

Ba-dumping to mention to the few people here that have played the game that it recently underwent a major patch; classes now have limited loadout customization, and are now much easier to unlock. Due to the scope of the changes all unlocks were reset and refunded.

 

So far I'm quite happy with the changes.

I think I need a better mouse, mine is uncomfortable to use at the speed necessary for Tribes. Not because of sensitivity, but it just cramps my hand pretty quickly

Just spent six hours thirty five minutes in Skype with New Calamity playing the ever loving shit out of this game. It was glorious, and we were both horrified at how much time we spent inside of it.

I need to play this game some more, I liked it when I played it before, but I think my computer isn't fit to play it as my power supply was exhausting a lot of heat to the point that it felt like my hand was in boiling water when I stuck it under it.

I think juggernaut is the best class for beginners. Got my first killing spree on my third game I ever played on a team deathmatch server.

I have unlocked the sentinel and the infiltrator, enjoying both, but neither of those is useful when there is already like 4 of the same class in a team.

The skiing mechanic is the thing that makes this game so awesome, since it makes the game really fast paced, which is not seen in many games.

Welp, played for my first time last night...For six and a half hours!

 

Good fun, I regret nothing. I primarily stuck with Pathfinder and had a decent amount of luck harassing enemies with the shotgun.

 

The soldiers' assault rifle is tough to use but very rewarding when you get a bead on someone.

 

I look forward to unlocking weapons and classes. So far all I've really unlocked are upgrades for modules, equipment and weaponry.

I am a boring disc/pistol Soldier primarily, with an occasional bout of disc/shotty Pathfinder when I want to mix things up a bit.

In other news, I haven't made much progress in Tribes. Most I've done is upgrade my most popular weapons and equipment for the Pathfinder and Soldier. Thankfully skiing is starting to become natural as I notice my speed is much higher on average. Though, I need to stop dying so often...
