GammaDove 428 September 13, 2014 Share September 13, 2014 I play the bagpipes, my parents forced me to pick an instrument, and I chose the bagpipes and fell in love with music, Now I also play the bass and acoustic guitar, does your voice count as an instrument? Oh, I also play the baritone sax, but I've always wanted to play the violin, it sounds beautiful and then I could sing a small parody. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT INSTRUMENT FIDDLE FIDDLE FIDDLE*vigorously plays tune to wiggle.* No, but seriously, violin sounds beautiful and I find violin players fairly attractive.

I don't really like it when vocalists or just singers are labeled as "musicians" because they're not. 1 Who you jiving with that cosmik debris? I guess my definition is a bit more strict than others, for me, if someone is labeled as a musician, it means they have some form of mastery of an instrument in some way or another. Jim Morisson, for example was a killer poet and song writer but never played an instrument, therefore he is labeled as a vocalist/songwriter. Who you jiving with that cosmik debris? GearheadWilliams 64 September 13, 2014 Share September 13, 2014 I've been playing and studying the bass guitar for a good two years now... I also have some basic on how to play the guitar that I've been gathering for at least a year and a half and I've been taking singing lessons since the beggining of this year; but I still need more practice to say I actually know how to sing. You could say I'm a one-trick pony when it comes to music. (No pun intended) I'm also really interested in getting an upright bass and learning how to play it. They say it's entirely different from the bass guitar in terms of technique.

Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,302 September 13, 2014 Share September 13, 2014 I am basically a musical idiot lol, but I can sort-of play a few instruments: Keyboard Melodica Sopranino recorder Soprano recorder Alto recorder I can't sight read sheet music anywhere near fast enough and have to either play from memory (in the case of the keyboard) or copy / paste these ridiculous pages full of recorder fingering doodads. xD The latter ends up looking like-a-this-a: I wish someone would give me a free saxophone so I can screw around on it lol. Maybe I can play it - Idunno. xD 1 "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. But that does not mean making things up. yeet 2,027 September 14, 2014 Share September 14, 2014 I'm practising guitar, not very good right now. But meh, I've still got my whole life to do it. And that other guy that named his guitar, jsut because of that, when I get a new guitar in a few years (because when I get good, I would prefer a Gibson or fender) I think I might name mine Balthazar.

Jim Morisson, for example was a killer poet and song writer but never played an instrument, therefore he is labeled as a vocalist/songwriter. I guess it's debatable whether a singer would be classified as a musician, I think as far as definition goes it can be, but some may prefer the term "vocalist" or some such. I personally have no real opinion on the matter, I think both could be correct really. I'm practising guitar, not very good right now. But meh, I've still got my whole life to do it. And that other guy that named his guitar, jsut because of that, when I get a new guitar in a few years (because when I get good, I would prefer a Gibson or fender) I think I might name mine Balthazar. I just felt like throwing in I knew a teacher at my school named Balthazar once ;p. I don't get it ._. And I think drums would be fun. I think my next guitar will be a fender stratocaster. Either in purple, sunburst, or surf green. Out of pure curiousity, what type of guitar do you have now? I've only been trying to teach myself guitar around a month and a half or so now really, so I'm not really even super knowledgable when it comes to guitars, but i'm still curious. Right now I have a pretty basic Guitar, A Squire Strat by Fender. It's a black and white one, i've seen others who first learn guitar having ones very similar or just like them. (Had a friend selling one who bought it but never learned.) I don't even play it plugged in half the time though, because my amp is kinda crappy ;p, it's pretty cheap, but I got it and the guitar for a pretty decent deal. I figure i'll get better stuff once I start to learn much more. 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig!
