That is concerning for all Ponyville residents. If that happened to Ponyville, it could also spread over to larger cities such as Manehattan and Baltimare - you know, I have a feeling that the map was introduced to all of us so we could get a good idea of where catastrophes will happen should they occur, much like in Modern Warfare where you have all these American cities dealing with some sort of Russian invasion.

 

I'm just hoping it has to do with the Season 3 opener, because whatever happened, its magnitude seems big enough for a two-parter. I mean, just look at the effing apple trees on SAA! That would NEVER happen! It brings me shock just looking at it. I mean, could it possibly be the parasprites...?

 

Anyways, I think you're spot-on with the map thing. If that happens, that's pretty scary. Then again...could it also be Changelings?

 

So Trixie might come back, that's... nice. I'm interested to see what caused the boutique and the farm to be deserted too, and if that's supposed to be the Crystal Kingdom, it looks awesome. Can't wait.

 

Just so you know, it isn't a "might", she is confirmed to come back this season. It's just a matter of how. :3

With the way things are looking, season three looks like it's a lock to be in a storyline format, as I've said before. This won't be like the one-shot adventure episodes like we saw in seasons 1 and 2, save for the two-parters on each of them, as you need a LOTS of depth when you're writing a storyline season. Typically many concepts and hints of character development show up in these sorts of scenarios.

 

I was actually thinking it would be a stroyline season but I pushed it out of my mind. A show for little girls with ccontinuity? Most children's shows don't have that. Not only is FiM breaking gender barriers for "girly" shows, but it's also possibly setting a new standard. Wow.

Well I guess its time for my speculation on this.

 

I think Trixie teamed up with Discord whom created the elements of disharmony. Arranging a team of 6 beings (don't know if I should say ponies this soon. Trixie wields the most powerful of the elements. The "anti-6" and Discord are the villains. The elements of disharmony are victorious at first. Causing all of Equestria to be reduced to a barren wasteland. Anyway that's what I think at least. Or you know Trixie could just be the Hench-mare of the villain that was released (if he was in fact a villain) Just speculation. I think now that I see the pictures, HOLY COW THIS SEASONS GOING TO BE AWESOME!

Well, I can say with a high level of certain that the Crystal Kingdom pic is legit, considering that if you look in the background of the Crystal Fair song previous revealed you can see said tower behind them. Regarding the other three background shots...here's my speculation:

 

Looking at these shots, I'm reminded strangely of the Teen Titans episode where Starfire accidentally travels x years into the future due to a time traveling villian. After all, the dresses alone show that this didn't happen overnight but over some period time. My theory resembles that, as in whether by accident or intentional on the part of whatever villian may be introduced, one or more of the Mane Six is hurled into the distant future. Without them, the elements of harmony were rendered useless and unable to stop whatever threat caused this disaster. The other five were then forced to live in this now harsh world, their friendship broken beyond repair by this point. With that in mind, I can't help but make this reference:

 

"Now the foal seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!"

Now, that is an awesome idea. I remember that episode of Teen Titans. They already proved time travel exists in MLP: FiM, so this wouldn't be a stretch.

The time travel spell was only sustainable for a very short while - that in mind, if the spell were amplified by an external source (maybe Trixie's necklace), Poison Claw's eye-popping reference would have lots of credibility.

 

I can't help but think that Discord will be out to cause even more havoc than before, actually putting ponykind on the brink of war with themselves and other species should it come to it... along with some help from Trixie. It is also possible he can go from just a joker to a truly evil entity that wants to spread hatred and violence wherever he goes.

could be that, or maybe, going off the fact of "Elements of Disharmony," maybe some villians we have seen in the past could represent different elements. Discord could represent something along the lines of Chaos, Queen Chrysalis representing an evil sense of tyranny-like power (her attempts to control everything as a dictator makes me think of this.) im not sure what trixie would represent, what do you think? then they will probably add new characters to represent each element if this disharmony idea is true.

If you look at the top of the map you can see the "Crystal Mountains" so perhaps the Crystal Empire is just another land based empire north of Equestria? Like the Crystal Empire and Equestria share a continent separated by mountains? Just a thought. Equestria is not a continent, not a world, but a nation. And the northern border is clearly mountains with land likely on the other side. Soo... yeah

Considering Ponies (Pegasi) control the weather, that image of the Crystal empire could still be up north. If they also have that ability that is. And if the image is legit

 

Of course there are those regions where the weather still controls it self, so it could go either way

Well this is justgetting me even more excited for this epic season.

TIME FOR THE SPECULATION.

 

Hmmm.... this is all VERY interesting. Bringing up many many questions indeed. And with my mind i shall find answers to thses questions. Also i'm pretty sure somepony else has these theories too. =/

Anyway. Look at that necklace around Trixie more indepth. It look almost exactly like an element of harmony, but black instead of gold and the chrystal symbol thing in the middle being different ofcourse. My theory and i'm pretty sure its evryones is that its an element of disharmony.

Now as for what happy to the beloved ponyville. I'm still trying to figure out. We all know discord is returning. He must have a hand in this. He must of either found or created the elements of disharmony to bring chaos to Equestria. And gave them to their bearers. One of which being Trixie. Yes if all of that is because of them i don't think Trixie did it alone. nor do i think she just did it with discord. My theory is there will be 5 others. Weilding the other 5 elements of disharmony which contrast that of the normal elements. Perhaps we shall see some other antagonists returning (will Flim and Flam share a necklace...) or maybe see some new ones.

I believe they all caused this... but perhaps not intetionally. If i recall i didn't think Discord wanted to destroy Equestria. Perhaps all that disharmony did all that? Or is there gonna be an even darker villian manipulating all of this from the shadows?... (that possible character that was spoiled a while back. ya know the one that was all black and stuff with purple smoke?) controlling the bearers of disharmony to destroy all of equestria.

And as someone said before, this can perhaps be all one big Story Arc. Which is why there are only 13 episodes. If there are any Avatar fans here if u watched The Legend of Korra, their first seaosn was like what... 12 episodes? that was because it was one story arc. Maybe thats what we are seeing here... And maybe there will be an epic movie at the end!!! Oh this is all so exciting!!

Okay these pictures just made me more excited for season three and the theories people are coming up with sound pretty cool. Trixie returning is pretty cool and that necklace seems like it's gonna be pretty significant.

 

Trixie and Discord working together sounds pretty cool and the elements of disharmony sound cool also. I really hope that something like this happens and if it does, that it's not just a two-part finale.
