3005 332 July 28, 2012 Share July 28, 2012 Obviously, nothing lasts forever. At one point in the future, the world will cease to exist. It's inevitable. Do I think it will happen soon? Absolutely not. We have billions, if not trillions, of years to come, and by that time, technology will be advanced to the point where I don't doubt we'll be inhabiting planets other than Earth. Flittershy 6 July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 I believe strongly in the multiverse theory as well as some form of reincarnation. I believe that when someone dies, the energy making up their conscious is isolated somewhere in its universe until it is transferred into a new lifeform. When that universe ends, all the residing energy will dissipate to all the other universes, causing life to go on. We are all just energy condensed into mass. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. Nanniro 39 July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_far_future According to this, most like on the planet has about 600 million years remaining. However, simple life will remain until 1.6 billion years from now. In about 7.9 billion years, we may see the destruction of earth. Maybe. 1 I mean, if that's okay with you... Marshmallow 1,137 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events on Wikipedia. For some reasons, humans like to predict the end of the world. The end of the world has been predicted for as early as in 634 and has been "predicted" countless times since then. Guess what, none of them were true (duh). It's completely ridiculous to believe that the world will end in 2012. I used to think that people just said they believed in it as a joke, and I did the same. But it turns out that some people actually genuinely believe it... It's saddening to see that some people can be that dumb... >.< 1 "There was me, that is Pinkie, and my three droogs, that is Rarity, Rainbow, and Fluttershy, and we sat in the Ponyville Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening." sheparddog 8 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 that depends on how you define the end of the world for example an economic collapse might ruin humane society but plants animals and the planet will be just fine where the sun exploding in a super nova wood in fact vaporize earth ...and no amount of preparation will help you then but to answer your original question it's only a matter of time how much i don't know For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -carl segan
Dusty Soul 2,611 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 Nope... The Mayans have even shown disbelief that it will end in 2012... I think the world will end sometime, but not anytime soon. Retro*Derpy 3,183 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 Well yeah I believe it well last untill a black hole sucks it up or humans destroy it. And if you think its because of the Mayan calendar, just remember they don't have leap years.
LisKira 6 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 soon or later everything ends the world will be destroyed by the sun in a couple billion years but that's not what i mean. i really hope the world ends by way of the world as we know it, just how 2012 is its not total destruction like people think it. i go with the new age theories like galactic alignment and the coming of an age of peace, now if that peace has to come with war and near apocalypse and extinction of man kind so be it. so in short not sure but i do hope so. Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 (edited) Yes, I do believe it will end. Although I don't get into apocalyptic date theories. The only firm date we have is 4-5,000,000,000 years from now when the sun will explode and its effects read earth. That's not to say it wont end before then, but all other dates are speculative. Proctra Music 335 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 It could end at anytime- there's no way of knowing. A meteor, the sun going out suddenly, zombies. Who knows? All we can do is live everyday and be thankful that the only reported cases of zombies were those with the bath salts in Florida. Well, when your talking meteors and the sun, the sun is going to be doing its thing for billions of years... And, we can easily spot meteors coming at us. As for zombies... I got nuthin... The completely flat and 6,000 year old earth that is floating in the very center of the universe is going to end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar ends there. ~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 It will end someday. But as for now, they do say the Earth IS pretty young...and same as the sun...so we all will be dead waaaaaay before the earth will end..scientists have predicted, said, or discovered...Idk, but they said so, I watch many science shows
PonyTrollz 19 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 Nope. The world will come to an end but not this early. There is billions of years until the end. silvadel 1,393 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 I think something major will happen in 2012 -- not so much because the year is special, but because a lot of people believe the year is special and some of those people are vested in the apocalypse. My guess is that it may be when an Iran/Israel war starts. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
NotDavid_ 62 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 It will end, just not in 2012 because of a "calender". In my opinion, we will die in a flash of not to even know what happen. No. Because Bible. Lost 1,410 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 Yes the world will end, no i'm not talking about any time soon, nor am i talking about stupid "Doomsday prophecies". Scientifically we know that when a sun starts to die it becomes a red giant. And because of the Earth's proximity to the sun, when that happens we will likely fry. Now here is the good news, that's estimated to be millions or billions of years into the future, which gives us plenty of time to develop space travel to the point that we could live on another planet. When the earth does become consumed, it is unlikely there will be any humans left on it at that point anyway. Wubsie 1,123 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 Nobody can predict the future. NOBODY!!! Beside if it was going to end why tell everyone? I would rather have the world end out of nowhere and die then have somebody tell me and have me worrying about it 'till it happens. I would be wasting time and not living life. BUT since whoever said the world was going to end is WRONG!!! It's going to happen at some point in time, but not now. (in like a million years or so it will) Stop worrying about the negatives and live life. I Steam I PhotoBucket I Youtube I Ask Me Anything! FoxyCryptid 4,330 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 No, people of actual Mayan decent have said the calender doesn't predict the end and that was entirely the invention of us mis-reading how it works. Nope, the world is billions of years old, we have another million years before it will eventually die and we wound up like the dinosaurs. Or somebody dropped their Nokia in the center of the Earth. Billion actually, I think our sun is only at like half it's life-span before it goes boom. At least that's what i read somewhere. 1 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something.
