because really, Anal Cunt? What was that? :P

It was beautiful!

Yeah, it was kind of a joke submission to begin with. I'd be impressed if they made it past the first round, regardless of who they were put up against.

No one likes grindcore. ;__;

I figured it was, but I like to add a little fun to the tournaments, so why not? lol

Although, The Beatles vs. Anal Cunt will probably be like Duke Basketball vs. Stony Brook Basketball lol.

Indeed. Match up of the century, one of the most popular bands in modern history Vs. a band that even other people in the Metal thread didn't know.

Dire Straits in an utter UPSET win over Queen, 9-8!

Queen lost in the first round?

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5mLjKI968g

Forum I am disappoint.

Well lets hope Pink Floyd can win this thing because he's all I got left. Oh and I voted for the Beatles.

Beatles takes my vote, and killswitch takes the second vote.

My curse is a brilliant song, anyone who doesn't agree is trollin'

Although the version of 'My Curse' there is not the album version, this is the album one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTiktZzPguU

Way better than the music video version, he doesn't do that weird pitch change on the "This is my curse" part, Although i am unsure as to the reasoning of the random images in this person's music video...

The Beatles (SHOCKER :P) won against Anal Cunt in a massive blowout of 11-3!

America also "kills" Killswitch Engage with a score of 9-5.

Today will only consist of one match. Hope that's alright with you guys!

Yes! I thought this match would be close, so I withheld my vote all day so that I could cast the tiebreaking vote if necessary, but it turned out that America won by a safe margin. I have to wonder whether having fewer forum members voting may have helped - only 14 voted this round, whereas the previous few rounds had 17-18.

By the way, I voted for The Beatles, but I'm not really a fan of their psychedelic/experimental work; I like their straight pop/rock songs better.

Since I don't really like the really hard rock/metal...... My vote is going to go with Five with Fighting "Superman".... Its actually a very nice song and I did rather enjoy it.... ;) It has a nice melody.... and it is quite relaxing to listen to.... So "Superman (Its not easy)" has my vote this round for sure.

Thank goodness we have YouTube! Otherwise, I would be clueless as to what some of these songs are. Hopefully, as the poll progresses, I will recognize more and more of them and have to use YouTube less and less.

For me, this was no contest. Five For Fighting is one of the relatively few artists from the 2000s-present that I actually like. They've had several hits on Adult Contemporary/Adult Top 40, and it seems that most of the music I like from the past decade was popular on those charts.

Five For Fighting fights off Meshuggah in a final tally of 9-3!

Today's matchup should be interesting lol. :P

C'mon now everybody, surely some '80s heartland rock is better than that namby-pamby classical, right? Plus, a song HAS to be cool if it has an ocarina solo!

It looks like America will be up against Five For Fighting next time around. That seems like a more even matchup - soft rock vs. soft rock - so it'll be a tough one.

Beethoven has defied modern rock and must have struck the hearts of many members, as he SMOKED John Mellencamp 9-4!

How about a double feature tonight? Sound okay to you guys?

ALSO NOTE: Yeah, yeah, I know, both of Round 10's selections are Music Chart Fan's. Blame the randomizer, not me. But for the sake of this being MLP Forum's first tournament, we're not doing this for points. What matters is that one special band that wins the heart of this tournament!

Well, to be fair, Pain-Rikudo and Ylaena also had nominated artists that faced off against each other. Such is how the randomizer works.

And since we're having a double matchup, then my 5th nominated artist, Chicago, is also competing today. In the matchups between totally different genres, I have won one and lost one so far - America won against Killswitch Engage, but John Mellencamp lost against Beethoven. Just as with America before, I've never heard of Yngwie Malmsteen, so I don't know if forum members will prefer him to early '70s jazz-rock fusion.

It looks like Chicago will Dominate Malmsteen. I love both, I nominated Malmsteen but Chicago gets my vote , It looks like Malmsteen won't see round 2

As far as a predicted winner so far I could see Chicago,Dire Straits, PF, Zeppelin , or Maiden taking this.

And I see The Doors, and The Beatles as dark Horses.
