Tom 891 July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 We'll probably never know any exact numbers. But the population is definitely in the range of hundreds of thousands. 1 I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid".
Twiliscael 3,960 July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 Those bronies, my good man, are what we call "Hipsters". Well I became a brony 8 days before 2012 *puts on hipster shades* Holy crap it's been a fast 6 months! I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . . Striksette 70 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 Well, everyone here, then there are the 500 or so bronies I know on Groupie, then there are the thousand from OpenFeint, and then add in all of the little forums, sites, and fans who don't even know what bronies are, but still ARE bronies, I'd say about a million or so. ThatOnePwny 59 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 I guess I'm a follower then. Even though I <3 Rainbow Dash and all the others. Even though I've seen both seasons entirely. Even though I listen to ponified versions of songs. Even though I changed my Steam username and avatar to match my bronyness. Even though I read pony crossover fanfics. Even though I play in the mlp server on TF2. Yup, definitley just following everypony. Thanks for generalizing. Totally goes with MLP's message.
Smokin'HotRarity 182 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 I've heard some "veteran" bronies claim that it you became a brony in 2012the, you hardly count as a brony, more of a follower. i don't like it when people make up stuff to try and belittle who you are S.V.R. Stop. Violent. Recreation, I know it's tuff but let's all try to stop playing violent videogames, violent TV, violent thinking, and just violence in general. Put "SVR" in your signature if you support Stop Violent Recreation!

You're a brony as long as you like the show, some people are so diluted. ~

Espelancer 108 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 Considering that the show is an international phenomenon that has been or is being aired in 20 different languages in some 140 territories around the world, you can imagine just how many bronies there are out there. But, let's look at the stats for the center of the brony community, at least in the United States and other English-speaking countries, which can best represent the brony phenomenon domestically: Equestria Daily. (You can see the stats and Alexa rating here.) Equestriadaily.com has a three-month global Alexa traffic rank of 20,376. Compared with internet averages, the site's users tend to be under the age of 25, and they tend to be childless men browsing from home and school who are not college graduates. This site has a bounce rate of roughly 43% (i.e., 43% of visits consist of only one pageview). The time spent in a typical visit to Equestriadaily.com is approximately six minutes, with 42 seconds spent on each pageview. The site is relatively popular among users in the city of London (where it is ranked #208). In the United States, it ranks #7544. By comparison, square-enix.com ranks in the US at #5980; Funimation.com has a US rank 7,451; and americanidol.com ranks #9610 in the United States. Now, Alexa ranking only give an approximation of how big a fanbase is by how many people go onto these websites, but you can see that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is about as popular in the United States as Square-Enix, Funimation, and American Idol from these examples. There is also the fact that Equestria Daily has garnered over 200 million page hits in a year and a half of existence, and averages around 250,000 hits per day. That says quite a lot, especially considering EqD covers nothing other than MLP:FiM related topics. BronyCon has reported about 4000 attendees over the past weekend in New Jersey. AnimeNEXT, which also takes place in New Jersey, had about 8000 in attendance. We all know how popular anime is in the United States, and just how broad a category anime is, so it is astonishing that a convention covering MLP:FiM specifically drew half the attendance of a large summer anime convention. I would estimate that bronies number in the millions in North America, and the 10s of millions worldwide. The statistics speak volumes. 1 I'm just no good at writing signatures. Coming up with words is like... really hard. However, you should read The Espelancer Chronicles: a blog detailing my preparations leading up to and my experiences studying at The Yamasa Institute in Okazaki, Japan (in the Aichi prefecture outside of Nagoya) for a 1-month SILAC course from July 16 - August 16, 2012. Abstract 832 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 I would guess in the low millions, maybe 10. It's growing quite rapidly, and for good reason. "Let the steel of my resolve be not bested by the sum of my fears."

Smokin'HotRarity 182 July 2, 2012 Share July 2, 2012 Here's a thought, since IP's usually change after computer reboots, that would affect the amount of perceived users drastically. S.V.R. Stop. Violent. Recreation, I know it's tuff but let's all try to stop playing violent videogames, violent TV, violent thinking, and just violence in general. Put "SVR" in your signature if you support Stop Violent Recreation!

Somebody 570 July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 (edited) I'm talking about people in real life, but if I meant both the Internet and real life, well I don't know. Only the real life ones count, for the Internet is formed of a select few individuals posing as hundreds of different people online in an attempt to artificially gain numbers to legitimize their strange obsessions among society. I smell conspiracy! They just don't know it yet. And are in denial Consarn it, you beat me to it! I was going to say that! Edit: Oopsie, I didn't notice the thread hadn't been replied to in seven months. ...I just don't know what went wrong! AppleJackle 37 July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 Ha, he read the Article, then I also showed him pageviews on the Equestria Daily. "Holy crap 98 Million views?" was his reaction. Now he agrees with my point of view. (Although his still 42, so he still thinks its more of a my age thing) He'll leave me alone about it now. Thanks MLP Forums. Yay! Though it would be hilarious if you managed to bronify him And then make him post in this thread when it happens. ☐ Single ☐ Taken ☑ Hopelessly in love with Applejack I write ponyfics
