I'm not sure if sea ponies would work

I think all they basically did in G1 was sing.

 

If they find a way to pull it off and make it work and above all make it not so painful, then fine.

 

But still not to sure if it's a good idea

For the love of luna I would pretty much give at least a decent amount of respect to the show as a whole if this would happen. OK maybe they won't be the cute, singing little fishies that they once were, but if they can get a good take on them I would be so happy to see this.
