I've played Pong before. Holy shit, that game is so much fun. It can be so damned intense if you get the right pong console. As for retro for me, I'm part of the pre-Nintendo generation of gamers. Things like the Atari and ColecoVision were relatively new when I picked up gaming. I'd have to say my favorite retro game of all time is Crystal Castle. My god that game was so hard, but so much fun. I wish I still had it...

However, that's not to say I didn't play my fair share of NES and Super NES games. My favorite console of all time is still, and will forever be, the Super NES.

Went to eurogaamer today and they had EVERY games console ever.

There are too many games for me to list I have probably played thousands.

But at that eurogamer place I found a console called the Vectrex from the 1980's It looked pretty cool don't remember the name of the game but you had to blow up missile silos.

From about 2010-2011, I was almost as obsessed with the Mother/Earthbound series as I am about MLP now. Still, i got into it pretty dern late, so I can't really say anything about 'the good ol days".

I was pretty dang into it....and then my friend told me about this game called Minecraft >.<

I've played far too many for me to build a list from memory. But the most notable are Boom Man and B-Wings for NES. Boom Man was lots of fun and I've won it many times, but I've yet to beat B-Wings. That one is my favorite NES game of all. The music is just epic.

I've also played Metal Gear Solid for PS1, but to be honest I didn't really like it that much. I'm more of a Splinter Cell fan.

When I post in a thread, the replies seem to stop.

Now that would be a long list. Many of them I played before they were retro, so the term doesn't really apply...and in general I don't consider anything 6th-gen and newer to be retro at all. I'll throw out some titles that I didn't discover until later. NES: StarTropics, Crystalis, Felix the Cat Genesis: Sonic 3, Buster's Hidden Treasure, Phantasy Star IV SNES: Choplifter III, Killer Instinct, Mega Man X PSX: Final Fantasy VIII & IX, Silent Hill

Having grown up in the second generation of consoles and played in arcades back when they were happening places, I've played just about everything anybody has heard of. Here's a list of childhood favorites in no particular order:

  • The Magic of Scheherazade (best RPG on the NES, and was unlike any RPG I had ever seen up to that point in history)
  • The Mafat Conspiracy (NES)
  • Crystalis (NES)
  • Final Fantasy VI (III) [NES]
  • Pool of Radiance (DOS)
  • Eye of the Beholder (DOS)
  • Star Wars: TIE Fighter and Star Wars: X-WING (DOS)
  • Star Wars: Dark Forces (DOS)
