Been playing guitar for almost 6 years now, I play a lot of metal-ish things, mostly polyrythms and constantly changing my tempo into different time signatures. I love to play spontaneously, introducing a different element into a piece I or my listeners already know. But I also love to play calm genres, especially reggae, just flip the switch on my amp, find a good beat on the net and play away!

I play the guitar... sometimes. Aside from the songs I cover, my style is mostly metalcore-ish. Not that I'm too big a fan of metalcore, it's just that everything I improvise ends up sounding that way. Let's say cheap melodic death with metalcore.

 

When I improvise, I usually do so along a downbeat piece and then when I get more into it, I start the power chords and alternate picked palm-mutes, etc. Either that, or a simple pattern with chugs on the 6th string (more likely to do this is dropped). Then it's a random Amon Amarth styled tremolo riff, maybe a bit sadder though.

 

My soloing improv is also kinda unoriginal. Trying to incorporate more pentatonic and chromatic influence though, because I like that sound better.

I don't play any physical instruments, yet. I'm going to be looking into learning the guitar after the first of the year. I'll probably shoot for a very acoustic/alt-rock sound, like what is played by bands like Death Cab and Guster.

 

As for right now, I'm getting into mixing with FL Studio, and I haven't made any complete songs yet, but I enjoy making happy hardcore EDM.

I use to play saxaphone. I realize now its an interesting instrument to play but i think its harder than most other instruments since I don't see many people play them.

i play ze piano and clarinet :3

usually my favorite kind of stuff to play is either jazzy type stuff on the clarinet, and epic movie soundtrack type stuff on piano, like for instance, Dream is Collapsing from inception, and Requiem for a Dream. in other words, really loud stuff, lol. I'm also trying to learn This Day Aria for piano. i play alot of stuff i hear from TV and movies. and of course i sometimes will play classical on either.

Mine is a mix of old school jazz, blues, 50's rock and roll, and classical with a smidgeon of a few other influences when I am playing piano when I am playing drums I tend to go for anything with a fast pace African drum music being one of my favorites.
