I already told my mom what it means, considering one of my cousins and two of my friends are bronies. I did not reveal that I myself am a brony. She said it was quote on quote "bizarre". This is why I will not be mentioning it any time soon about me, but I may bring it up what it is in conversations to get it carved in their heads what it is before I actually say anything about it.

I am very open, yet this is a more recent development. I just tonight told my coworkers that my plan for the Winter Break is to rewatch MlP:FiM from episode 1 for the third time. They thought it was pretty wierd but I am a-ok about it. Why would one hide what one felt was not shameful?

I casually started whistling the theme tune and other related songs to see if people would recognize them, one or two have noticed but i just put it off as if nothing happened, It's even better when someone joins in halfway through lectures.

I pretty much share the same viewpoint as CaptainBlue808.  Don't ask; don't tell.

Although, when I first discovered the show, I would constantly bombard my best friend with quotes and things.

He's now more into the show than I am at this point.

I don't mind letting people know I'm a Brony. I started buying pony t-shirts and a Brony band and I wear them proudly,   in fact I just bought two pony shirts today with my mom watching me. Of course I don't go preaching to people that they need to go watch the show, but if they ask me about it I'll tell them about it. I recently told one of my best friends I was a Brony and she was excited to hear the news and told me she's one too as well as her boyfriend what luck!

Man, what a lonely life. I'm lucky to be around bronies and pegasisters every day at school. Tell your family. you never know what you'll expect. Even if they do not approve of the show, be persistent and keep lovin' and toleratin'. My family didn't approve of the fandom at first, but I kept on being persistent. Now, they are pretty tolerant. Also, you have us. We'll give you advice to muster through the family barrier of doom.

If you are worried that your peers and friends will reject you, I will say this  that if they reject you then they are not truly worthy of being your friends.   as for your family  they may be your parents, they are not experts in  the things that you can and cannot watch.

Very true. My friends really are my friends. I told ALL of them, but not one rejected me. They accepted WHO i was, not WHAT i liked. That, is a very big difference. I am lucky to have haters as my friends that don't reject me.

When this all started for me it was standard - deny, deny, deny. Watch the episodes alone in my apartment with the shades drawn, the volume low and all the lights off. I'm sure I'm not the only one, lets be honest.

 

Buuut, as time has gone by, I've picked up some bit of merch here or there, subtle stuff, as I'd rather accessorize than blaze a brand name across every inch of my chest - A key chain, a Rainbow Dash cutie mark Zippo lighter, even one of those blind bag ponies that my friend got for me cause she knew I'm a sucker for Dashie. Small stuff, little steps.

 

Now, Though I don't "Write Home" about my being a fan, or exclaim to strangers,I don't deny it either. I've got a shirt to wear (love the design, couldn't say no), and my little Dashie rides on the dashboard of my truck. I'm even working up a Mare in the Moon design to get a vinyl decal to put on the back glass of my truck. I still count it as accessorizing, but its definitely getting to the point of advertising! XD

I never deny watching or liking the show but that's as far as it goes. I don't tell people I have episodes playing in the background on repeat when I work. They may just think I'm obsessive.

I haven't been asked if I like the show or not yet, but I will most likely deny it because the people that are at my school are horrible. Saying that I am a Brony will just be giving them more ammo to fire at me.
