Top 3 "vertical drops" of FIM

In just about every single episode of FIM, there is one of those moments where somthing happens and there's this big depressive part. I call this, the "vertical drop".

 

Here is my list of the Top 5 "vertical drops of MLP

 

#3 Futtershy crying from "Hurricane Fluttershy"

 

I always get this feeling of compassion whenever someone cries in MLP. Fluttershy was severly humiliated by the other Pegasus and Fluttershy is a very sensitive pony.

 

#2 Twilight grays out from "The Return of Harmony"

 

This one was hard to get through. I almost cried myself. It seemed like then and there is was all over and that Discord had won. I think that the creators of MLP were awesome at making the vertical drops of episodes.

#1 The Big Betrayal from "A Canterlot wedding"

 

Honestly, this one tugged at my heart the most. Twilight, the main pony, the one who started it all, has one of the saddest moments in this episode. It was all a misunderstanding but she thought it wrong and sadly paid one of the biggest prices ever. She lost all her friends, her brother, even her loyal mentor Princess Celestia walked off. No one was there for her. It was all her fault. It was a simple misunderstanding that turned into the biggest betrayal in MLP history.

I do agree with you on all of them, they all are sad moments, and honestly I can't think of any others off the top of my head, The big betrayal, I thought was just saddening.

I feel that one of the major ones would be for Rarity and Pinkie Pie in the Iron Will episode. Fluttershy is my favorite character, but even I was sad when she started talking back to them. So IMO, that is one of the major one.

#1 Is Twilight Graying out

 

Yeah, those are my top two. I am not sure on the third. They do give us some good moments. But that is because the show is built around character flaws, and playing with character strengths and weaknesses.

#3 Fluttershy insulting Rarity & Pinkie Pie

 

Fluttershy essentially told them doing what they wanted to do most (throw parties and be into fashion) was a waste of time. Rarity and Pinkie can't help what they like! I suppose it hits a little too close to home, since many people tell me I'm wasting my time watching this show, despite the fact that I can't help that I adore it.

 

#2 Pinkie Pie in Part of One

 

Pinkie's face right after her mane deflates is heartbreaking. She cares so much about her friends. making them happy and having fun with them, that the idea of losing them/annoying them to the point of leaving means she loses everything (including her mind).

 

#1 Rarity, after seeing Sweetie Belle's drawing

 

Although her dramatic reaction is played a little more for laughs, I don't think anyone can deny the regret and upset Rarity feels over "losing" her younger sister. Rarity discovering the picture, the picture itself, and her subsequent reaction is the only scene from MLP that managed to bring a tear to my eye.

I'll go w Rarity in Suited For Success.  Her reputation was destroyed before all of Equestria.  In the early seasons, she had a tendency to over react but IMO this once, she didn't. It really was as bad as she made it out to be.

Seeing the Mane 6 (and especially Fluttershy) being overpowered/defeated by Tirek in the Season 4 finale.
