gaming Annoying kids on the mic.

I am sure that this has happened to any of you, but have you ever had a moment during an online game when you encounter annoying little children? I sure as hell have, dozens of times actually. Aren't they usually on Call of Duty?

Some good examples:

So have you had any times like this?

I've joined far too many games on CoD listening to children rage saying "USE A SNIPER YOU NOOB!" or "WOW THAT WAS BULLS**T!"

I laughed for the first few times when I started playing CoD, now it's just irritating and it's forcing me to instantly mute everyone in the lobby, I've moved on to more 'mature' video games where you'll find less kids xP

Lol I was playing black ops zombies one time and these little kids were talking and the conversation basically went like this:

Kid 1: "My mommy said I have to go to bed at 10 :("

Kid 2: "How old are you?"

Kid 1: "Im 8 years old :D"

Kid 2: "Me too! I'm a third grader! :D"

Kid 1: "Me too!"

And I'm just sitting there thinking like "Are you f***ing kidding me?...."

Also they sucked balls at the game and they made us lose...it was annoying.

Eh, yeah I’ve come across dumb kids when I play multiplayer Halo. Sometimes I feel bad because some of them get trolled wrongly just because they are young, but in these cases all you can do is , roll your eyes, and mute them.

I had an incident like this a few years back, i was playing left 4 dead at a friends house, anyways, there was this little girl who was about 7 playing, and saying all this random crap, going, "should i jump off here and kill myself?" so very very annoying.

this is why i keep my mic off so retards play dont spas out because i'm younger than them and say thing even if im trying to help my team

one time i was playing online on halo reach and someone bout to get assassinated so i said watch out and he killed him but then people were yelling at me or saying dumb things and ruining there "game vibe"

Well, I don't really like multiplayer games (take it as I suck), so I don't normally feel the effects of little children playing video games.

Really, I've played CoD just few times at a friends house and I have not heard these nasly kids on it. It could be that the CoD gods are taking pity on me or maybe it's just pure luck, but so far my ears are one of the few yet to be violated.

This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?

Too many times. I learned to just mute them, and in game I troll them. If i get hate mail, i will troll them to a rage quit. It is quite funny. Though i see them most in cod and halo, I've seen some move to battlefield.

It's actually become a rather rude stereotype. Whenever I try and go on mic during video games, no matter what I'm saying and no matter how mature it is, I always get muted in seconds. Why? Because I have an extremely high-pitched voice, so they think I'm some six-year-old. In fact, I was once on a Mumble-based video game team, and they were starting to compliment me on my skill. Then my flank of a brother turned my mic on, and they heard me talking to him. They asked if that was my little brother, to which I ashamedly had to say no. They still call me "pipsqueak" to this day. I mean, it's not a bad nickname, but I've been banned from places just for not sounding like they do, even though I'm probably smarter than a couple of the users combined.

>playing CoD

>annoying kid gets on mic

>tell him he's an idiot

>listen to him cry

>laugh

>Back button

>toggle mute

>Realise CoD is horrible

>Kill self

In all seriousness, just mute the kids. It's not that hard. But as @@ping111 said, don't stereotype, as people with brains could just have a not-so-mature voice.

Yes, all the time in Team Fortress 2. Pissing me off, lol.

Thank god TF2 has a "vote to mute x" button, that have saved me from going insane several times.

Yeah, I've dealt with this a few times in TF2. There was this one kid who wasn't obnoxious, but most of them spam the voice channel. You know what's even worse? When adults do it. To date I've only encountered one man on TF2 demanding fellatio of a female who was also using voice chat. When I was trying out CS:GO for the free weekend there was a man on one server grumbling incoherently into his mic and complaining about how terrible everyone was.

I don't play CoD but it has a bad enough reputation that I have no desire to try it. Battlefield 3 sounds like a mixed bag so I may yet buy it.

I don't play too many multiplayer games, but I've dealt with my share of annoying kids on Call of Duty (and Zombies). I usually just mute them, and I never get angry. However, I love playing against them. Sometimes I'll only only knife in a Gun Game and their whining when I humiliate them is hilarious :P

On the other hand though, sometimes playing with kids can be beneficial. I once played Zombies with this one kid, and we made an awesome team because he did everything I told him to do. We got to like round 63 on Ascension and even then we only died because of our other teammates trying to pull a Leeroy Jenkins.

Overall, I can't really blame the kids or their parents because I sometimes let my little brother play.

Run into them all the time in Counter-Strike: Source.

But some of the guys that play CS:S are complete assholes and make the kids leave. It's rather entertaining...people just start asking him why he's still on the computer because it's past his bedtime, and to stop swearing or he'll get in trouble.

Either that or we all gang up on him and make him rage-quit.

I must thank the person who came up with the "mute" option in multiplayer video games. I am forever grateful.

Usually I don't complain if younger people are playing (although I do have issues with 3rd graders playing a bloody first person shooter), but if one of them get's a little too loud on the mic, sometime's it's fun to...oh you know, get a few people to concentrate some shots on them for a half hour to help them consider rage quitting.

I actually try to help kids out with games, as long as they aren't rude. Only a few years ago I was like them and back the it people over the mic were good teamates and didn't talk shit about everything and everybody.

I was once in a BOI lobby and I hear some adult talking to a little kid. He asks "How old are you?" and the kid says "8", then the guy responds "Aren't you a little young?".

No shit :/.

I meet squeekers time-to-time. When I do meet them, I usually leave them on for a little to see if they're gonna start squeeling or shit-talk. If they don't annoy me, they get to be un-muted. It's amazing how you find most of them playing rated M games. Guess parents don't give a crap. As long as their kids ain't killing IRL, they're okay with this. I really don't care if they play the game right, though. Little kids also have the unfortunate distinction of abusing exploits in games in order to be "pro" especially in CoD. BOII looks like it's trying to be less friendly in that perspective, from what I've seen.

To be honest i feel really bad when people make fun of little kids on games. Sometimes its funny, but mostly it really hurts ME. I understand how they can be annoying but there's always the mute option.

On the other hand, i don't understand why there are so many kids spamming these days. When i was REALLY young and was playing multiplayer games i would never use my mic. If i wanted to say something i'd just type it down, and try not to bother anyone, but i don't see much of this anymore in kids, causing older gamers to get easily annoyed.

I learned a neat trick to deal with this. Actually its not so neat but its much more easier than muting everyone.

-Only where mic when talking to friends.

-When nto talking to friends leave mic still pluged in.

-Turn the volume on mic all the way down.

-Take mic off head

Instant everyone is muted!

I always just leave my mic in but not wear it when playing games.

Guess I'm thankful that I've not played many games with a bunch of kids talking. Really only played Resistance 2 and 3 on-line and both of the new Transformers and really havn't ran into people who are like that.

I don't really mind playing online with younger kids all to much, as long as they don't spam the mic or start talking big.

They only bug the hell outta me, when they spam the mic or when Im playing a very gory game like GOW and I encounter them, or when they threaten to rip my dick off ,then they are just annoying.

Granted I also enjoy trolling them a little bit(c'mon who doesn't) and calling them chipmunk and pipsqueak when the time arises.

Usually when I game online, I'm playing a fighting game, although I have my mic on just in case someone wants to talk, during ranked matches, no one ever has a mic on so I just stay quiet.

However... One day I decided to go into an Endless lobby in SF X TK, "mics on" was it's description...

Kid 1 (the reasonable one): "Hey man, how's it goin-"

Kid 2 (bad at the game): Fudge. Fudge. Fudge. Fudge. FUDGE. FUDGEING D-BAG! OH MY GOOP! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! (Censorship enabled)

Kid 3 (was probably cool to start with, but has become a conceded jerk due to the constant winning streak): "your jumping too much (kid 2) you can't jump in this game or I'll kill you.

Kid 4 (the questioner): "hey Intrepid (at me) do you have a mic?"

Kid 3: "He better, I'm not fighting someone too poor to afford a mic, I'd feel bad for winning so much, when he has so little"

Me: *feeling actual hatred for kid 3* "Yeah! Hey guys, how's it hangin'? I kinda just picked this game up on a whim, so do take it easy on me (kid 3)"

Kid 4: "whoa dude! You sound old! Are you bald?"

Me: *silently crying to myself*

Kid 1: "He doesn't sound that old, he's probably 20-something."

Me: *thinks kid 1 might be tapping into some sort of super intelligence.* "yeah that's me... 20... Something."

Kid 3: "Just try and be a better loser then (kid 2) he's been crying this whole time cause he can't win."

Then kid two quit, I proceeded to beat kid 3 and then he left, all while kid 4 asked me questions about being a grown-up, often saying, were he my age, he'd eat gummy worms heated up in the microwave all day. Eventually I just left, cause although kid 1 was sensible, he had no desire to talk, and kid 4 wanted to just talk. I don't go looking around lobbies to find conversational pals anymore. O.o

Another thing that can be annoying is if someone pipes in crappy music through their mic so you gotta go through rounds with horrible background music. Unless they play a song you like then it's fun.

Any game without a mute function isn't a game I want to play. I clearly am not interested in listening to anything so high pitched that my ears start bleeding.

that and sound spam over mic...
