movies/tv Favorite sitcoms?

What's your favourtie sitcom guys? I know most of you will say "That 70's Show", or "Friends" or "Seinfeld", but if you do, say why, for the character limit and for general discussion :3

My favourite has to be "Scrubs", even though it's half-drama-but-in-a-funny-as-hell-way half-sitcom, it has some really funny/emotional moments, and you have to appreciate a sitcom that can take itself seriously.

Also recently "2 Broke Girls" has been on my list, it's just a fun little thing to watch on the weekends.

"Married... with Children" of course. When I discovered it, I watched all episodes in 2 months. I simply love Al and his way of living(and he scored 4 touchdowns in a single game :D). This sitcom is unforgettable, true legend.

Don't kill me, but when I was a kid I liked Family Matters. My family watched it every night and we thought Steve Urkel was hilarious. For a long time I didn't know the real name of the show, so I just called it "Steve Urkel." We also watched a lot of the Brady Bunch. Looking back, it's the cheesiest thing ever, but I still enjoy it.

One more sitcom I liked that I discovered all on my own was Gidget. Not the movies, the TV show. It was Sally Field's first professional role and she was delightful. Tragically, it only lasted one season and then the police caught her.

It was illegal to be that cute.

I even bought a rare Gidget board game on eBay! About $30, a real bargain.

i'm a pretty huge sit-com fan, and just comedy in general. we used to have the best local comedy channel here before. it features pretty much every single good comedy show you can think of. Family Matters, Married... With Children, Full House, Spin City, and many many more. and the best thing of all? no commercial breaks during the shows. AT ALL. too bad we don't have the channel anymore now...

my favorite has to be Scrubs as of now. everything about it is just fantastic. the acting is just brilliant, the humour hilarious, the setting and how it seemingly progresses... i dunno what other really favorite shows i have, since i've only really watched Scrubs extensively. i mean i watch a lot of comedy when i get home usually, but i dunno if they can classify as sitcoms.

Red Dwarf and Blackadder still retain a strong appeal

I really like Outnumbered as much for them allowing the kids to ad lib as for the plot

Was a fan of Friends and still enjoy it when I catch it

Did like The Big Bang Theory but the recent series has been a disappointment

I absolutely adore That 70's Show and How I Met Your Mother, 2 of the best sitcoms of all time imo. Modern Family is pretty good too. Anything else though, I usually find painful to watch, as some of my least favorite shows also happen to be sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and Everybody Loves Raymond. So yeah, I really like some, really hate others.

George Lopez, Baby!

I also like That 70's show, and Big Bang Theory.

And, I'll admit it:

I'll occasionally watch a re-run of Drake and Josh. That show is awesome.

I don't watch TV too much, but I like "Everybody Loves Raymond". I like the older ones better (not the really old ones, but like from around 2000), but I have started to watch "Guys with Kids" and "Animal Hospital".

I have loads of them but I'm not sure if you guys in the US get them.

Spaced, Black Books, The Green Wing, 2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Cuckoo, the IT Crowd.

If you get the chance watch these quirky shows, they're extremely funny.

For the US stuff.

Big Bang Theory, Frasier and How I met your Mother.

Does Grimm count as one?

Yeah, scrubs but comedy central dropped the thing so, eh. I still got, It's always Sunny in Philadelphia so it's all good, might not be for everybody but I love the thing.

Let's see ALF is one, I actually have the first three seasons on DVD, another one I have on DVD that 70s show. I also remember one called Perfect Strangers that was pretty good, then there's Friends and Who's the Boss.

The Big Bang Theory is hilarious, and I love it. Jim Parsons is a genius.

Other than that, most of my TV viewing goes to well-done cartoons like Phineas and Ferb and ze ponies, a few animes like Naruto and one or two sciency things. Don't watch sitcoms much.

Am I the only person who doesn't like That 70's Show? I just thought the premise was entirely contradictive as it was more of a 90's show than a regular depiction of what actually happened in the 70's. I think the most "70's" episode from the show is when Eric Forman streaks in front of president Gerald Ford and his father asks Ford a very taboo question. Other than that, the ideas really came from a 90's standpoint, besides mentioning bands and television shows that were clearly from the 60's or 70's.

Besides Seinfeld, I absolutely love one-camera angle sitcoms like Malcolm In The Middle and Scrubs. I just think that without a studio audience and a laugh track, the show seems to have a lot more creativity and a sense of realism that makes the content more humorous and more enjoyable to watch.

Also, I'll leave you with my all-time favorite clip from the greatest sitcom to ever live.

That's a shame, there truely is more than just cartoons on TV, not much, but there is some you should try man.

Also, aren't you a little old to watch Phineas and Ferb? *wink-wink*

:3 I have Netflix for things I enjoy; most everything else on TV I've seen is either bogus, or not interesting.

Not even dignifying that with a response xD

Hands down my favorite sitcom is Seinfeld. Hard to explain why, but for lack of a better explanation, it simply has a perfect ensemble of characters, both in the main cast and the supporting characters. So many of the episodes have timeless humor that will quite frankly never get old, not a chance! Also, this...

Pinkie Pie as Kramer makes wayyyyyyyyy too much sense!

I forgot about Frasier...now that was a sitcom with a brain. There wasn't one character I didn't like, which says a lot about the writers they had because I'm very picky. ^^ Step By Step was a bit of harmless fun; I wish they would release it on DVD, but so far all they've put out is a preview disc. Night Court was decent, at least early on...but Warner Bros' DVD sets, as usual, suck. (They half-assed Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs too.)

I would not be averse to Twilight and friends going on a time-traveling, dimension-crossing adventure to prevent the existence of the following shows:Two and a Half Men, Everybody Hates Raymond (let's be honest, who really loved Raymond?), Friends, Sex and the City and Jersey Shore. You may not consider the last two to be sitcoms. Fair enough. But they still should be wiped from the face of the earth. ;)

Cheers tops my list. It had your standard "stupid humor" in Coach and Woody, but it was never so off the wall that you thought they were trying too hard or that no human could really be that much of an idiot. Things just fell into place. There was a lot of subtext and I can't help but think of it as a bit of a spiritual ancestor to Seinfeld in some ways. Everybody was endearing in their own way too. I got attached to that show, and Norm was my favorite character by far. I can envision myself sitting next to a guy like that in a bar and just talking with him for a couple of hours.

The Cosby Show might be #2. That was a show that demonstrated you could be completely clean and non-controversial and still outshine every other show that would do anything, no matter how raunchy, in order to get a laugh or a few ratings points. I have more respect for Bill Cosby as a comedian than any other I've ever seen.

All in the Family and Night Court were brilliant too. Night Court even had one of Brent Spiner's earliest TV roles.

My two favorite, modern sitcoms would have to be The IT Crowd and Everybody Loves Raymond.
