The title pretty much says it all: How do you think our favourite mares' experiences with colts, or mares for that matter, went, before the events of season 1? Discuss!

Twilight: Probably not all that much. I could see her having a crush on a teacher, but nothing more than that.

Verdict:  most likely heterosexual, virgin

Rarity: Now here's a girl who'd leave a trail of broken hearts all through high school . Don't get me wrong, I love the character to bits, but I'll be the first to admit, that she got a very manipulative side. Considering her fairy tale wedding plans however, I doubt she would go all the way.
Verdict: A dozen devastated colts, heterosexual, most likely virgin

Fluttershy: Not much to say: Girl can hardly talk to strangers. I'd imagine she might get hit on from time to time (according to Rarity she's quite the looker).
Verdict: scared to death of getting intimate with anything that isn't a bunny (oh, you know what I mean; get your heads out of the gutter)

Pinkie Pie: I'm really not sure here. Her easy going nature seems to suggest she'd get around quite a lot, but she seems too childish for anything serious to happen. That and her quasi-amish upbringing.

Verdict: Really not sure, leaning towards heterosexual virgin

Rainbow Dash: Delicately put, I don't think Dash is stable relationship material. But her whole devil-may-care attitude would suggest, she'd be the first to try something (she seems the type tohave the term "lovenasium" written over her bedroom door). Also I don't think she'd care much for gender, if she finds somepony attractive.
Verdict: An untold number of wild nights and rocked worlds, bisexual

Applejack: Might be different elsewhere, but where I'm from farmfolk have a pretty relaxed attitude to sex. I'd imagine AJ went through all the sitcom stuff: walking ten miles to sing songs to your crush's window, romantic picnic, Big Mac battering the everliving crap out of the first boy who broke her heart and probably at some point some romance after seeking shelter from the rain in the haybarn.
Verdict: heterosexual, not a virgin

All three of these made me lol. "Intimacy with bunnies". And just your entire concept for Applejack is hilarious. . Honestly, I could sort of see this, if it weren't for the fact that in nearly every appearance, Big Mac is a sweetheart. Any way, I see that you've made plenty of valuable points. I'd hypothesize that perhaps Fluttershy was taken advantage of. In terms of relationships of course. Everything else though, I'd agree with.

I disagree strongly with both of these statements. Personally, I'd imagine that Rarity is a huge tease, and while she would probably lead some unfortunate gentlecolt on for her own gain, I highly doubt she'd actually put out. She just doesn't strike me as promiscuous.

 

And Twilight... I'm not too sure she leans that way. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure about her preference at all. It's kind of hard to tell by her personality. She may even be a Sheldon Cooper? Who can really tell, unless they make an episode about it?

I think that they're all fairly inexperienced relationshipwise except for possibly Rarity.

My reasoning

Fluttershy- Can you picture Fluttershy in a relationship? I certainly can't.

 

Applejack- She might have gone out with someone before, I don't know

 

Pinkie Pie- She is essentially a big kid, I just can't see her having romantic interest in someone already, possibly in the future, but nothing in the past.

 

Twilight- She was too wrapped up in her studies to make friends, much less date someone.

 

Rainbow Dash- She's kind of too wrapped up in having fun and chasing her dreams to have been interested in anything like this, again I don't see it. Also, if she was in a relationship if anything I can see her taking it very seriously and wanting commitment, being the element of loyalty and all.

 

Rarity- She's definitely dated before, but it's likely that anyone she was interested in before either couldn't live up to her expectations or got fed up with the drama.

I'll admit, I was originally hesitant to read this thread. since I was certain that there was a good chance it might just be some very fanboyish speculation, but after reading through your post, I gotta say kudos Silverwisp! That was a very well-written, thought-out, and excellently developed bit of speculation, and I find myself agreeing with most of your points concerning the Mane 6. Concerning the few points I disagree with, I won't speculate upon them myself, simply because I don't feel capable of doing so, since I don't believe that ultimately this would be something that ever enters into canon within the show itself. Nevertheless, this was a very interesting bit of fanon speculation, and you've done a very decent job putting it together. Once again, kudos Silverwisp!!!

Seriously though, I love Dashie, but she was pretty superficial, before the show. I'd think she'd be attracted to athletic prowess or good looks rather than personality (even if she took the time to find out about it).

Twilight: Agree, total virgin. Probably never been asked out. Perhaps a crush or two, perhaps tried to ask somepony out and got rejected, but doubtful that she's even been kissed. But if the right stallion comes along, I can definitely picture her developing a major crush and getting all worked up whenever he's around, and most likely trying to resist the urge for fear of a relationship cutting into her study time too much.

 

Rarity: I honestly have no idea. There are too many possibilities and not enough evidence to narrow it down.

 

Fluttershy: Most likely virgin, but possible that she has a "friends with benefits" relationship with Rarity. Seems like she has a crush on Rainbow Dash, and probably has since they were little and Rainbow stood up for her. Probably homosexual.

 

Rainbow Dash: Probably has fooled around with colts in the past, but maybe regrets it. At the very least has a special friendship with Fluttershy, since it appears Rainbow followed her to Ponyville sometime after Fluttershy discovered how much she prefers living on the ground rather than Cloudsdale. I can't imagine Rainbow moving to Ponyville on her own. Probably bisexual.

 

Pinkie Pie: She does act like a little kid most of the time, but I think she's more intelligent and mature than she normally lets on. Perhaps has had her first kiss, but probably didn't get any more serious than that. Still probably lots of tears after the breakup, though. Orientation unclear, but I'd guess bi with a preference for males.

 

Applejack: I'm kind of surprised she doesn't have a husband already. Probably waiting for the right stallion to move into town, but may have fooled around a bit with some cousins during those massive family reunions. Probably heterosexual.

 

Overall, they all seem pretty young, so they haven't had that much time to get in and out of relationships, hence most just having early experimentation experiences, if anything.

Well I'll be the first to say that I think all of the Mane 6 are hetero, yes even Dashie.

Twilight - too busy and introverted to have anything more than a crush or two.

 

Pinkie Pie - I think she may have danced with more than one stallion, but might have actully stopped things if they were getting romantic. I think she's probably an expert at instantly friendzoning any stallion that even gets the idea in his head. Not because she wants to friendzone stallions, but... well... I don't think Pinkie has much thought of herself in a romantic light, just not something thats occured to her.

 

Fluttershy - Like Twilight, a couple crushes, but far too shy for anything beyond that.

 

Rainbow Dash - Ok, I don't think she's a party animal, but I do have to think that she has hung out with more than one rowdy crowd. Yeah she's probably dated a bad boy and MAYBE she went all the way with him.

 

Rarity - She just likes having men wrapped around her hoof. She strings them along without truely giving in and telling them that they are in a romantic relationship. So she's experienced at being a tease, but not so much at actually being in relationships. Virgin.

 

Applejack - As the most mature of the mane 6, I think she has probably dated and MAYBE has been with a stallion. But who can say.

Rarity is the loosest pony.She's a tease and out of all the mane six, her mind has shown to be preoccupied with colts the most.Every other mane six member seems to have vague stance on romance, with Rarity being the only clear one drawn to anything. - Twilight would hyper analyse absolutely every aspect of a relationship, and it would turn off any potential mate since she would come off needy and highly dependent. constant praising and reassurance would drive most stallions crazy, and they would bail before it got too deep. 

 

- Rarity's only partner exists in her own mind because she lives in a fantasy world where a fairy tale life actually exists. no one decent will approach her because shes overattractive and almost untouchable. much like in real life, the hot girls are the lonely ones because most people are too scared to approach them, and the ones that do are usually shit-hats

 

- Pinkie Pie partied too hard, did a lil too much molly, most likely got laid but cant remember any of it. when not partying, shes still a bipolar bag of crazy, so it limits her potential mates as well. 

 

- Dashie dabbled in same-pony relationships but doesnt want to admit that she enjoyed it. she keeps that sexual frustration bottled up and has to let it out in the form of competitiveness and constant activity, otherwise she naps alot, indicating deep seeded depression.... or shes just always tired from trying to be an athletic overachiever.

Twilight: Probably had a crush on Celestia at one point though likely grew out of it, has probably had umpteen crushes on various authors and book characters. Verdict: Could swing either way, likely a virgin, quite possibly some kinkiness (it's always the nerdy ones...) going on up there. Wouldn't be surprised if she'd really enjoy the idea of roleplay and cosplay. May even have been to a few cons in her time (I can see her doing this, as it'd be easier for her to blend into the crowd).

 

Rarity: Hearbreaker, always hung out for her prince charming, only to have that crushed in S1. Has probably gone on a few dates while she waited, but ultimately wasn't interested. Wouldn't be surprised if she did have a secret crush on some romance novel stallion. Verdict: Heterosexual (show supports this), was probably and likely still is the dream filly/mare of many Ponyville colts and stallions. Has likely broken many hearts.

 

Fluttershy: Like Twi, probably has a crush on a book character, but like Rarity has probably (inadvertently) broken many hearts). Verdict: Inadvertent heart breaker, So many crushes, so many broken hearts. Virgin, and hasn't even had the courage to ask a flower on a date, the poor mare.

 

Pinkie Pie: Probably very open minded sexually (including some really kinky stuff), though I suspect she hasn't tried any of it, and friendzones everpony too quickly. Verdict: pansexual, virgin, but has a *lot* of fun toys stashed away at home. Verdict: I'd have to ask Pinkie.

 

Rainbow Dash: Probably something like the Winningverse's Cloud Kicker. Verdict: Has probably bucked most of the town, bisexual, but also probably has something she's hiding. Like a secret crush on Fluttershy that she's had since flight camp, perhaps?
