Southern Belle 6 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 Honestly, I'm not so sure about forgiving Trixie. I mean, yes, she did say she was sorry, and yes, she helped Twilight out when she did her show. Still, she tried to ENSLAVE all of ponykind with the amulet. To be completely honest, I'm on the rail about this. On one hoof, she was apologetic to Twilight. On the other hoof, there was that whole "make Snips and Snails pull my chariot without wheels" thing, so I don't know. 1 I'm the B-to the-E-to the double LL-E! WWAPD 126 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 I said no. It just seems like she'll do whatever she thinks will make her the most popular. First, she pretended to be a great magician because it gave her a huge fan-base, now I think she's just apologizing because she knows everypony will hate her less for what she did. Just some guy 1,070 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 I'm on the fence on this one.Trixie did do quite a bit of damage to Ponyville and was stupid enough to tell very tall tales of her abilities at first, and then she took control of Ponyville and forced Twilight into exile right under the nose of Celestia the second time around with the Alicorn Amulet. This recent episode alone is more than enough grounds to harshly punish Trixie. On the other hand,if she is sincerely sorry about and does actually turn over a new leaf after all of that, then she has truly atoned for her actions and has redeemed herself, and I would definitely overlook Trixie's crimes against Ponyville.
angels_gal 204 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 Yes, Even though this really was her second chance, and she did become drunk on her own power. Keypassion 232 December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 CURSES! Foiled again! But wait, (subliminal manipulation mode)You want to click a choice. move the cursor, make a click on the candy red button. You want to do it. You know you do...do it! do it! The only pony I mindlessly obey has a curly pink mane. Your subliminal manipulation is useless! This is exactly my thought here, to be honest. IF she was truly sorry, then her apology would have been more heartfelt and thought out, other than just "I'm REALLY sorry, LOL nope!.". But you have to consider Twilight pondering whether or not to forgive her for her actions as well. Trixie needs to learn that every crime has a punishment, no matter how sorry you say you are, and not everypony will bail you out of the worst situations. 1 I'm the B-to the-E-to the double LL-E! Look, all I meant by that was that there was a certain demonstration of social darwinism, which is essential to a sustainable society. Im not sure what the whole 'anti-capitalism' rant was for, and I would have to disagree with that part, but besides that, your statement seems to have assumed to much of my own. I apologize for that, that was a fault of my own, I should have been more specific. Nonetheless, lets keep this back on topic then shall we? Forsooth 18 December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 It seems to me like she never meant any real harm at any moment, her chief flaw being excess of pride. For some reason the fact that she referred to herself in the first person during the apology made me think her sincere. Now that I think about it that may not be adequate proof, but that is how I think of it. “There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” -St. Thomas Aquinas

I believe it would be best for her to stay out of Ponyville. It would be nice to have another Trixie episode though... She is actually starting to remind me of a certain character from a certain video game series, who grew to become one of the most horrendously evil villains in the history of RPGs. The fact that she boasted about her apology at the end is a red flag as to whether or not she really meant it (and really makes me worried about what she could have in store for the ponies later). That said, she's still an awesome character. 1 A Winner Is You!!!

Although you could find room within the episode to say that she was insincere I think she meant her apology. I wish she'd apologized to the rest of the people she tormented but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

SBaby 660 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 (edited) Oh? What game might that be? I may look into playing it if I haven't already. Trixie could definitely fit that category though, nonetheless. She's reminding me of Porky/Pokey Minch from the Earthbound/Mother series. She's showing signs of Mother 2 Porky. What starts out as a weasel of a neighbor, grows to become one of the most sick and twisted villains in the history of RPGs. Don't read below if you haven't played Earthbound or Mother 3 yet. His list of crimes in Earthbound include kidnapping, hostage taking, using evil artifacts, and conspiring with an alien to take over the world. Basically, he gets progressively worse as time wears on. But it gets worse. In Mother 3, he turns a peaceful world into a nightmarish hell where warped monsters that he created run amok. His exploits result in the death of Lucas' mother, the transformation of Tazmily into a corrupt society addicted to technology, and the transformation of Lucas' brother into a mindless slave, who upon realizing what he had done over the course of the game, literally committs child suicide. And the worst thing about it by far, is his motivation for it. He did all this, because he was bored. No grudge against anyone, no tragic past, no Empire making him crazy from experiments. Nope, he was simply bored. Oh, and by this point, he's essentially immortal and will live forever. When your character puts his body in danger, he enters the Absolute Safety Capsule, which protects him from every form of attack. He is safe, but he is also trapped inside the capsule, unable to leave for all eternity. I could be wrong, but Trixie is showing signs of acting like early Earthbound Porky. As I've said before though, she's still an awesome character. Edited December 8, 2012 by SBaby A Winner Is You!!!
Sks_Burns 730 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 Earthbound brings back some good childhood memories. i still remember the smells on some of the trading card that came with the guide. yep, i got it when it was new. i genuinely dont believe that Trixie is the next super-villain in Equestria. She just doesnt possess any real magic skills, and needed a relic in order to have any sort of power. When she was a traveling street performer, she just captivated people with her smoke and mirror tricks. She seemingly lacks the perseverance (or talent) to actually become skilled in magic, and used short cuts to make herself look good as well as talk up her own abilities. Both times we met her, she used a short cut to get what she wanted, so she obviously lacks the work ethics to become a talent magician. Next super-villain? not a chance. shes just an insecure pony that wants to be loved and adored, and wants to do it as easily as possible. She plays her role well though, so i hope shes on the show more often in the future. 1 "If all I care about in life is the imprints I make in this world, then the most I'll ever leave is a grave." Night Shine 767 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 If Twiley forgives her, then I forgive her. I do believe in the redeemable quality of villains: Everypony has some good in them, and it always makes me happy when somepony like Trixie is able to see the error of their ways and accept the friendship of the Mane 6.
Spring Storm 276 December 8, 2012 Share December 8, 2012 (edited) I can definitely forgive her - while she did do horrible things, it was because of the amulet. Everypony did suffer, but for... 1-2 days. Not too bad in my opinion, and it's best to be the bigger person and forgive. Also, am I the only one who actually likes the thought of Trixie turning good? I believe it shows how people can change for the better, and I like that.
