S03:E06 - Sleepless in Ponyville

I am were not a huge fan of Scootaloo, but this episode made me "aaawh" and "oooh" the whole time. I almost melted when she admitted that she was afraid of the ghost stories and Rainbow Dash actually agreed on becoming her mentor or whatever. 

Plus Luna, ohmygosh, I'm so glad it's now canon that she can enter ponies' dreams.

This is now my favorite episode 

they included Luna perfectly and finally showed what some of her job is as princess besides raising the moon we diidnt know what she did during her entire night rule 

 

Also it was a scootaloo episode which they needed desperatly and i think now people see why scootaloo is best of CMC hands down 

 

This was one of the most dawing episodes as well since so much cuddling with rainbow and scootaloo 

 

the only thing i wished is that we found out if Scootaloo has a family or not. this episode improved upon the fact that scoot might be homlwess with no family since she was trying so hard for Rainbow to be like a big sister and teach her how to fly.

Something else I have been thinking about after this episode and "One Bad Apple" is: how good of friends are each of the Mane Six with the Cutie Mark Crusaders? Has there been much in the show to answer that question?

 

In particular, how much has Rainbow Dash gotten to know Scootaloo prior to agreeing to being her "big sister"? If you think about it, Scootaloo is three steps removed from Rainbow Dash: Scootaloo is the friend...of two of the younger sisters...of two of Rainbow Dash's friends. It's hard for me to imagine my being good friends with my friend's younger sister's friend - that seems a little too far removed unless I knew that particular person for other reasons. Agreeing to be Scootaloo's "big sister" seems like a big commitment  for Rainbow Dash to make if they didn't already know each other fairly well to begin with.

 

I thought of this in "One Bad Apple" when Sweetie Belle suggested going to Twilight for help with their bullying problem. I thought it was interesting and maybe a little out-of-place to suggest going to Twilight for help, since I didn't think that Twilight knew them particularly well (and because Twilight was not really in a position of authority over Babs anyway).

At the end, when we see Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash are standing up against the nightmare, and Luna looks at the screen

What if the whole "fessing up to RD" thing was all a dream from Luna?

 

But seriously, I really liked that episode and how they're showing more Luna.

I hope they don't show too much Luna, though. One of the reasons why I like her so much is because she was a character you don't see often but is awesome when you do see her. Luna Eclipsed was an excellent episode, one of the best. And, if they show her a little too much, her character may get stale.

This was a great ep. I felt that the portrayal of Dash in this episode has been the best in a while - caring and but not over-the-top with brashness. It was really nice to see development of Scootaloo's character. I loved seeing Dash let Scoot under her wing, and the usage of Luna has to be my favorite quality of the episode.

I wasn't expecting Luna either. It's as if she shows up whenever she isn't supposed to. Gala? Nope. Changeling invasion? Nope. Nightmare of a crusader? There in a heartbeat! Not that I'm complaining though, far from it.

Rarity was the "bitch" of the episode and Rainbow Dash was very compasive and motherly (well kind of XD)...

 

Today's episode was super cool, maybe the best of the season so far. I repeat again, Rarity is the most funny character of the whole mane6, I laughed pretty hard at her diva antics! (poor Sweetie Belle). and even though she looked like she took advantage of Swetie Belle, she actually cared about her and she was protective of her the whole time. (I don't say this because Rarity is my favorite XD)

 

I wasn't expenting Princess Luna AT ALL...that was incredibly nice touch!

 

It is me, or I am just feeling Applejack becoming more and more stronger this season? she's featured in every episode, she hasn't missed a single one, I feel happy that Applejack is receiving some love from the writers.

 

I wish I had better earphones

because there were parts with super awesome "scary" sounds, that could make people jump (I know I would), that was incredibly well designed for a kids show *stands up and applauds*

 

Scootaloo now got her episode, so now, every single one of the CMC had their episodes, that's cool to know. I can't wait for the rest of the season, they are fixing the mess that caused the first episodes.

That's nice, now Scootaloo has her episode, with everyone's dreams of Scootalove in it. There people, stop whining.

 

I felt that it wasn't really for little kids anymore, though. Headless horseman? Someone's gotta be scared of that...

 

Love Applejack's questioning when RD was telling her second story. "Where's his brain?" Rofl! And the way she held Apple Bloom was so very sweet. She organized the camping trip for everypony, and thus everypony should thank HER for seeing Scootalove in this episode.

i new this episode was going to be great, mainly because scootaloo is my favorite CMC(and she is just so damn adorable), but i had NO idea it would be this good. it was absolutely perfect in every way IMO!...and i have to say...NEW ALL TIME FAVORITE EPISODE!

Before the episode I was expecting it to be boring.

As the episode started I thought it was going to be annoying with Scoot trying to constantly pester Dash for attention and fail at showing off.

When they met up with Dash at the camp site I thought it was just going to be an episode full of awkward moments.

 

While there was an occasional awkward moment, they were shoved aside very quickly and handled reasonably well.

I loved the whole sister bonding of each of them from Sweetie manipulating Rarity and then doing everything for her to Rarity and AJ comforting the girls when they were scared. Plenty of adorableness from the CMC's,

 

Rarity being Rarity is always good. AJ picking holes in Rainbow's Stories and being observant enough to notice Scootaloo's situation even if she didn't bring it up was nice. Some unexpected but very welcome Luna and then at the end to top it off, Dash actually being nice and somewhat cute.

 

Ended up loving it and Scootaloo too, who I didn't much care for previously. Pleasantly suprised.

This episode melted my heart, with all this heartwarming stuff, which is great! It was executed perfectly and the metaphor about the scooter is quite clever,  I was glad they sneaked in Luna, too, something I hope they do more of that! But yeah, the connection of RD and Scoots rrreeeaallly makes me happy and makes me all mushy, can't wait to see more of the two bond! I think they're setting up in S3 for some really bonding stuff in S4, with Trixie running off again, maybe being remorseful, the empire, now Scoots, S4 will be like the fruits of this season, that's my prediction.

This was a pretty great episode.  I liked how they included Luna in the episode, and there was a BIG bonding moment between RD and Scootaloo.  This is the episode I was waiting for.

Despite Scootaloo being my least favorite crusader, this episode was surprisingly strong.  It has what I think are some of the best gags of the entire show (The fake-out of Rarity pulling the cart, Sweetie suddenly passing out) and it gave some much appreciated development to the relationship between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash.  Naturally, more Luna is always welcome, and having a chance to see her actually act like royalty was more than welcome.  On top of that, she can dream dive?  How cool is that?

Saddie Belle is now a meme. I also love the squeaky noise ponies make when they make prominent facial expressions, it gets me every time.

 

I can actually understand the lack of Derpy in this ep, but she better make a good appearance in the next one!

 

Also, Luna is full of win. Sweetie is better pony, but Luna is still full of win.

 

Something I noticed, though: Scoot and Dash used "anyone" instead of "anypony". Writer error, or are they getting rid of that?

Since I haven't seen anyone else mention it... Am I the only one who noticed that when Scootaloo hurt her head, there was a chicken sound effect? That really struck me as a nice but relatively subtle fandom callout.

 

Indeed you are! Nice catch. Poor Scootaloo, at this rate she's going to be laying eggs next time she shows up.

 

I just watched through again, and this episode really is one of the best. Wonderful from start to finish. And on top of the story, the animation and scenery really is beautiful. A year or two ago I would have thought I'd never say that about a Flash show

 

That Scootalove scene is just too adorable  I love Rainbow's expression when Scootaloo says "sister". She acts casual about it, but I think it meant a lot to her as well, that Scootaloo trusts her so much and wants that kind of relationship, rather than just a hero worship thing.

 

I do love how this show repeatedly teaches the value of honesty. Even if it feels like admitting your faults will only result in rejection, it's really the only mature way to go about seeking forgiveness for them. I was really surprised the first time I saw Sweet and Elite, where Rarity just keeps piling one lie on top of another, but the house of cards never comes down on her because she was honest when it really counted.

 

I wonder what's to become of Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts. It seems like she's become too attached to her life in Ponyville to ever just leave for her own ambitions, but it really saddens me when people (or ponies) have big dreams and end up having to ditch them due to location issues. I guess we'll find out more next week I'm guessing it will be a "not for a few more years, at least" kind of thing. Personally I think the best solution would be to move the whole gang to Canterlot, maybe in season 5 or so when things might start getting boring otherwise.

 

I definitely got the impression that Sweetie pulling the cart was part of the deal for Rarity to go, and not any form of abuse.

 

And in response to my earlier post about the unlikeliness of Rainbow being woken up by Scootaloo's distant scream... Rainbow had just rolled over when she did that last whinny-snore, so maybe she woke up on her own right afterward, saw Scootaloo's empty bed, popped out her earplugs, and then heard the scream. But the theory of Luna entering her dream to warn her would be cooler.

 

And here's something funny I noticed, which I'm sure was unintentional. Way back in episode 1 when Twilight is reading that book, it says "Mare in the Moon: Myth from olden pony times"... and here we have "the olden pony", along with Princess Luna, in Scootaloo's dream at the same time

Not my favorite, but a very good episode. My highlights included: Rarity's moments, Luna's screentime, and the soundtrack. It was also nice to see Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo have a semi-sibling relationship.

Good episode. Though Dash's personality didn't shine that well, and seemed different. I'll let her pass for the Scootalove but at other parts she just didn't seem that...Dashy. Even though still, the Scootalove was adorable, and I really think that Dash and Scootaloo get along well. I loved the reappearance of Luna, but found that the fact that she appears in ponies dreams was a bit too much. There isn't much else I can say, except that it was a solid episode.

It was a decent episode, if not the best of the season. There was way to much fan service, especially with the entire Scootaloo wanting Rainbow Dash to take her under her wing and be her big sister. I actualy had to pause the episode and ponder if I should continue watching when she said "become my big sister". After about a minute I decided I might as well and forced myself to watch it for the sake of atleast having common ground about the episode and what happens in it. Luna was a big suprise, but I felt it wasn't needed and the problem could be solved in some other way. Something also seemed off about her voice.

I really loved this episode. It was really nice to see Applejack and Rairty bonded with Sweetie belle and Applebloom. I really loved how Applejack questioned Rainbow Dash's story. I really felt sorry for how Scootaloo seemed to be afraid of admiting to Rainbow Dash that she was afraid until she finally told Rainbow Dash she was afraid and Rainbow Dash agreed to take her under her wing while giving scootaloo a Wing hug!

I really love how Rainbow Dash seems to have become somewhat more caring and comforted scootaloo while also helping her fly at the end. It was great to see Luna and I'm really happy that she can go in people's dreams as it seems to make her appear to be busy during the night besides just raising the moon and letting princess Clestia have all the glory. So far season 3 to me appears to have some of the best episodes in a season can't wait for more.
