I love the idea of ponies in Hogwarts! Although, wouldn't it be like Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns? It's still unicorns only who can use magic.   Or are we talking humanized ponies?

Humanized for the sake of keeping it simple. possibly some pixie blood for Pinkie and some Veela for Rarity.

 

Pinkie Pie: Hufflepuff, she and Luna would be the two weirdos of the house.

Favorite class: Divination, Ghoul Studies.

Do you mean castle? (Luna is in Ravenclaw)

Also weirdo seems the wrong choice of word, I'd imagine she'd be very well liked.

Ah, yes, castle. For some reason I remembered Luna to be in Hufflepuff, no idea why.

This is pretty good, but I would consider sorting RD into Slytherin instead. I associate her more with high ambition than with bravery or strength.

I agree that she is kind of like Hermione, but I think given her background before she got to Ponyville that she would probably be placed in Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor.

I agree that she would be Hufflepuff, she could fit in any of the houses (except Slytherin she's not sneaky enough)

SHe kind of jumps into things headlong without thinking them through, as such she is brave and loyal.

I don't think RD would be Slytherin. As seen in Dragonshy she does not think before attacking and is impatient. While she may have some lofty goals she does not seem to be the sneaky crafty type. She tends to act more without thinking and that is a big no no in Slytherin.

 

As for Rarity, She is loaded to the brim with ambition, she is cunning and sometimes manipulative. She values High society and Slytherin is the house of high society.

Slytherin values ambition and cunning despite the people who give it a bad name. Rarity is loyal to her friends yes, but her most predominate traits tend to be the ones that lean more into Slytherin territory.

Well, the traits of a Hufflepuff are loyalty and honestly to friends, so Applejack definitely fits there. But if we were going off that, Rainbow Dash should be in Hufflepuff (since her element is loyalty), but I can't really see that either...

For Applejack the way I look at it is this, both Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs are brave and loyal, but Hufflepuffs don't necessarily need appreciation for what they do. They're the kinds of people who work their butts off seven days a week to provide for their families where Gryffindors would want to do the more "cool things" like hunting down dark wizards or playing quidditch. Rainbow Dash definitely fits into the latter category as she craves the spotlight, and while Applejack doesn't mind appreciation she doesn't have the need for attention that defines Rainbow. That's why I'd stick Dash in Gryffindor and Applejack in Hufflepuff, but the line is pretty small so I could see why you could put our favorite farmer in Gryffindor.

Yeah, Sweetie was difficult to think of one for... Scootaloo seems very ambitious and wants to succeed, like a Slytherin, but I could see her in Gryffindor too...

Applejack and rainbow dash would be in  Hufflepuff.  applejack is extremely hard working and patient.  rainbow is a little lazy  but she does embody loyalty after all that is her element of harmony. 

 

I see Twilight in Ravenclaw   she is extremely intelligent  and  she not only loves to learn but she's kind of a walking encyclopedia sometimes.  She uses her knowledge not for evil but to help her friends  out.  Twilight's favorite class would be all of them.  I could somehow see her ending up in the same predicament hermione was in.  trying to figure out which class to take. wanting to take all of them.

 

Rarity would be in slytherin  she is ambitious afterall.

Pinkie likes astronomy and that's that. Also, techniclly, Pinkie did see a lot of stars in her foal days. Also, she may be hyper, but she really is quite smart with tools and the sky.

while i can see sweetie belle in both slytherin and ravenclaw, the cmc strike me as a group who would become friends on the train and stick together. like one of them would be sorted into a house and the other two would want to be in the same house.

this is how i see it playing out:

 

"Miss Scootaloo." McTrotagul called loudly.

scootaloo trots up to the hat and places it on her head "gryffindor please gryffindor" she pleads silently

"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat calls and scootaloo trots over to the gryffindor table and sits next to rainbowdash

"miss apple bloom." applebloom walked up to the hat and places it on her head. "hmm" the hat thought "another apple"

"GRYFFINDOR!" applebloom goes over and sits next to scootaloo, they hi-hoof (is that correct?) each other

"miss sweetie belle." sweetie belle walks up and puts the hat on her head. "please put me in gryffindor mr hat. i want to be with my friends" sweetie belle pleads, "well you do have some of the qualities. very well GRYFFINDOR!" 

 

 

other than that my list goes:

 

Applejack, Rainbow Dash and the C.M.C: GRYFFINDOR! (i know Applejack could go in either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor but personally i think she belongs in Gryffindor)

Twilight Sparkle: RAVENCLAW! (i think that one is unanimous)

Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy: HUFFLEPUFF! (it says in the series "and kind hufflepuff takes all the rest" and i couldn't think where else to put Pinkie. seriously she is hard to place)

Rarity, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon: SLYTHERIN! (Rarity 'cause she's ambitious and Silver and Diamond obviously crafty, sneaky and ambitious)

Hmm... Ok so I bothered to take the sorting hat test for each character. Not the official one, but one that has all the possible questions from the original, so it's the same, except I can see the percent of each house. I will list each in order from highest percentage to lowest percentage of each house.

 

Twilight- Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff

Makes sense because of her value on books and knowledge and wisdom

Applejack- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin

Makes sense because she's brave and protective, but Hufflepuff makes sense too

Rarity- Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Gryffindor

Makes sense because she's hardworking and generous but I still see her more as Slytherin

Fluttershy- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin

Makes sense because she.. Uh.. No it really doesn't. She's a Hufflepuff for pete's sake 

Rainbow Dash- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff

Makes sense because she's brave, bold and exceedingly arrogant (no offense)

Pinkie Pie- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin

Makes sense because she laughs in the face of fear and is a literal party animal

I'd go w Pinkie in Ravenclaw.  She is a LOT smarter than most give her credit for.  She puts the idiot in idiot savant, but I would point out that she figured things out in Luna Eclipsed hours before Twilight did, for example.  Luna Lovegood is almost as weird as Pinkie & she's in Ravenclaw.  I see her & Pinkie as best buds, also friends w Fred & George due to a mutual love of pranks.  Trelawney is mostly a fake, so I see Potions as her favorite class

 

Twilight I see as frenemy to Hermione.  A fierce rival for valedictorian, but shares many interests.  T & H were probably the only 2 members of SPEW, for instance.  Favored class All but Divinations

 

Rarity in Slytherin.  They aren't ALL bad, I point to Prof. Slughorn & Snape turned good in the end.  She definitely fits some of the Slytherin patterns.  I point to Sweet & Elite for example  IDK if there is a theater group or glee club, but if so she's in them.

 

Fluttershy     I don't know about Gryffindor, I think Hufflepuff is more her & AJ's speed.  She is probably Hagrid's best friend after Harry (once she gets over being scared of him) & going for the advanced studies program in animal care.  Draco & the others bully her something chronic.  Probably scared of the ghosts, at least at 1st.

 

Dash Due to a mutual interest in Quidditch, she is probably friends/rivals with Harry.  If they are both in Gryffindor, I see her as beater to his seeker.  Not really into classes -tied w Ron for Class Dunce

 

AJ Definitely Hufflepuff.  An athlete of some sort, if not a Quidditch player.  Favorite class, Herbology.

Rainbow Dash 100% belongs in Hufflepuff. She IS the element of loyalty. 

(Though to the same effect, AJ is the most hardworking of the bunch and probably also would go to Hufflepuff.)
