Eenohay 318 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I was just thinking, even before I was a brony, existance of bronies didn't really surprise me. Even though I used to think the show was actually some kind of adventure show (and was really dissapointed when they defeated Nightmare Moon in the second episode), having a bunch of male teens and young adults who spend most of their time in the internet liking a show in wich all the main characters are female seemed totally normal. I never watched any of the older generations shows, but I assumed this one wasn't really that girly, and it isn't. Anybody else though this? Arylett Charnoa 4,919 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I thought it was weird and was like: "...Bwuh? What is happening to the world?" Still think bronies are weird, but in a good way. 1 Aether Velvet is the name of the OC in my avatar. Drawn by me. Deviantart
ScottishUnicorn 284 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I thought bronies were crazy, putting my little pony sprays all over the map in Team Fortress 2...then I watched the show. Now my life essentially revolves around ponies, lolwut.

Robert3186 45 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I admit I thought my mate was weird for being a brony at first, but then he showed me an episode and i was hooked. It's natural though to think that someone who is different is weird, but it's human nature, so I don't feel bad about it.
StarGazer 129 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I didn't think bronies were weird. I prefer to actually watch something before forming an opinion. Me too. I made myself watch Twilight before hating it. I saw it and now I'm an advocate for no more Edward. There were guys into My Little Pony way before FIM and they had it bad. People were like, why are you collecting a little girl's toy weirdo? One lady who works with me says her older brother collected ponies in the 80s. He was a closet fan of course. There would have been no mercy. We are awesome people, we are.
Guest January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 (edited) I didn't know bronies existed until I became one, so I never really formed any opinions before I was already in the thick of it. It doesn't surprise me though, I think most people want to enjoy something like MLP FIM but they let society get in the way of their heart. Nordica 180 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I really didn't know what to say. I clicked the link to the first episode after reading about it for the first time in a blog. I guess you could say I was quite surprised, as i was expecting tea parties and shopping.

That sounds... odd. Bronies shocked me at first. 1 Did you ever think I get lonely? Did you ever think that I needed love? Did you ever think, stop thinking You're the only one that I'm thinking of? L-PinkVsD-Pink327 177 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 (edited) My first thoughts when I found out what brony meant was around this: "Oh goody, more idiots that are so braindead they'll like anything that's colorful." Then I actually watched the show. And I loved it. Edited January 19, 2012 by IndigovsGreen327
Tom 891 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 "In all the hate of the world, people will look for love." That statement sums up my thoughts, it was inevitable for people to love MLP. I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid". I too didn't think bronies were "weird" but that is only because I never herd of them. I try to make it a habit to give something a chance before I actually have an opinion on it. Kyreth 194 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 I wasn't really that surprised when I first heard of the whole thing. 83awsm 234 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 (edited) If it weren't for being shocked by the whole phenomena in the first place, I probably would’ve never become interested in it myself. When I discovered that people from my own demographic were actually enjoying the show it made me curious, so I investigated, and sure enough wound up watching the first episode, and we all know what happens next... 3 days later, every episode. Eenohay 318 January 19, 2012 Author Share January 19, 2012 I mean, the ponies looked so cute for men not to like them. To be honest I don't know why people would think men don't like cute things. Have you never seen a guy who is in love? And yeah, I though that the fact the characters where female was obviously dragging a male fan base (you know r34 and stuff). It happens with anime
Krall 263 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 MLP fans never really seemed strange to me. I have known for some time that all manner of strange things live in the long and twisted halls of the internet and, frankly, adults liking a cartoon made ostensibly for children is nothing new.
Arashi Takamine 123 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 When I first heard about Bronies I figured: "Eh I don't have to watch the show, I don't need to like it. As long as it's not shoved down my throat I could care less." A year later here's where I am. And I figured it's a cute art-style and frankly there's a lot worse things people can be doing instead of liking MLP and I can list five of 'em right off the bat. Course that'll never change my opinion that Cupcakes in any way or form is a monstrosity to the internet. Then again I watched the first episode because I stumbled upon it and I needed a form of brain bleach. 1 Found at Hagaren.org Proud Pega-sis/Brony and writer! WildCard 1,037 January 19, 2012 Share January 19, 2012 (edited) I wasn't that surprised when I found out by a guy who made awesome Pony-liveries for DiRT-3. The ponies look awesome and I instandly liked their apperance. When I found some pony-memes I was quite sure that the humor isn't that bad either and I gave the show a try(at this moment I was already quite sure I would like it). I think if you are quite open-minded and don't get irritated by the theme-song and the "my little pony" in the title you can understand quite fast why so many people like it. I also think the appearance of the ponies looks rather awesome or funny than extremely " girly" and even before watching the show I thought that these ponies would make a cute mascot on my car or bike Edited January 19, 2012 by PonyPunk 1 OC was made by Princess Ariona.
