I loved Ed, Edd & Eddy as a child! It was probably my favorite cartoon to watch back then. I haven't watched it in a long time. ...I miss the old Cartoon Network.

Ed always made me laugh. Buttered Toast :P

Haha I used to hate this show as a kid because I "didn't like its graphics".

The artstyle was very weird for me, I was always complaining about how everything was about to turn liquid. When I got hospitalized for three weeks when I was 13, I had no cartoon channels on that old TV other than Cartoon Network, and there was an Ed Edd N Eddy marathon at the time, so they had the show on from 8 AM to 7 PM. And I really had no choice so I watched it and started appreciating the randomness in it. So yeah, in the end it's fine in my opinion. I was just stupid as a kid and was trying to make too much sense out of cartoons. That's why I raged at Cow and Chicken and I was literally hitting the bed full force and I was shaikng my head really mad when I was 4 because it was so weird and random. I still remember that.

I actually really liked that "light scene", here's something one of my friends made a while ago.

This show was my favorite during the Cartoon Cartoon era that they had (Johnny Bravo and Courage were also good), but I always enjoyed watching this whenever it came on. My favorite scene is

also known as the Hat of Discipline.

Ah yes, Ed, Edd, n' Eddy.

My Little Pony is definitely my favorite cartoon, but Ed, Edd, n' Eddy is my second favorite and I'm actually an involved fan in the fandom, although it's of course nowhere near the size of the My Little Pony fandom. I've written stories, drawn pictures, and played in RPs- well, actually, I still do play Ed, Edd, n' Eddy RPs, but that's besides the point.

And Eddy, Ed, and Kevin are definitely my top three favorite characters from this show. I bet if Kevin met Rainbow Dash, they'd get along great. You know until Kevin started calling the Eds dorks, then maybe Dashie would uppercut him.

I don't like it! Because Ed (I think it is the the single D Ed) is clearly making fun of people with mental disorders (like me!) so I am offended beyond belief!

Eeeeyup. Sarcasm is cool. While there are stereotypes on the show that annoy me, I think it is pretty funny. :) I also like the very 'sketchy' art style.

FUN FACT: Do you know that Kevin and one of Rainbow Dash's bullies share the same voice actor, Kathleen Barr? To me, Rainbow Dash reminds me of Eddy: they both get bullied by Jerk Jocks and are both prideful.

Thank you for mentioning that, because that's actually one of the reasons I got into My Little Pony; a lot of people who worked on Ed, Edd, n' Eddy have done voice work on the show, even Matt Hill and Samuel Vincent, who did the voices of Ed and Edd respectively.

I know Kathleen Barr did Kevin and Marie's voice on Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, as well as Chrysalis, Trixie, and Hoops, the bully you're referring to.

Well, Rainbow Dash and Eddy share that trait, but also remember that Eddy provokes Kevin on many occasions whereas Dash literally did nothing to those jocks to deserve their hatred. I compare Rainbow Dash to Kevin only because she's really athletic.. Although to be honest, Kevin and Eddy are also really similar, it's just that one of them is athletic and cool while the other's a scam artist.

Dude, I have nothing against Rainbow Dash! I actually like her character. I love Kathleen Barr because she is very talented when it comes to voicing males. She also voiced one of my favorite antagonists, Trixie.

As far as Rainbow Dash and Eddy, what you said was completely true. Rainbow Dash may be prideful just like Eddy, but she doesn't provoke people into bullying her. Those jocks were straight up jerks with no provocation, I agree, but they did apologize for it. I agree with Kevin, but in the episodes "Smile For The Ed" and "Your Ed Here," he was being a jerk for no reason.

I also agree that Kevin and Eddy are both arrogant, both bullies and prideful.

I also heard that Samuel Vincent does a voice on MLP too.

Yeah, Samuel Vincent did the voice of Flim, which is freaking awesome, since he basically did the voice of a con artist in both shows. Although I suppose one could argue that Edd is just following Eddy, he does love him some jawbreakers and he takes a little too much pride in his contraptions he builds for them! Just like Flim and his brother's Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000.

On that point, it's true that it may seem that Kevin is a jerk for no reason in those episodes, but remember that Kevin doesn't like the Eds and the Eds- mostly Eddy- don't like Kevin. Eddy has done plenty of stuff against Kevin in the past for no apparent reason; in A Case of Ed, Ed and Eddy harassed Kevin after he got grounded, and they had no reason to do that.

You could think of it as a very unfriendly rivalry between Eddy and Kevin that both Ed and Edd both get frequently dragged into.

Only thing I don't get about your post was your comment about Dash; I never said you didn't like her, I was just explaining my reason for comparing Dash and Kevin rather than Dash and Eddy.

Well I only said that first line because I see you're a huge Rainbow Dash fan and I didn't want to start any trouble on here.

As for Kevin, I agree. There are some times l actually like Kevin when he acts nice, especially to Edd. To me, it's really Eddy that Kevin hated, because in "To Sir With Ed," when Eddy was in his room, he had no problem partying with Ed and Edd. Plus, in "A Case Of Ed," he had no problem teaming up with Edd to get revenge on Ed and Eddy in that episode.

I only hated the kids when they punished the wrong ed for one Ed's action. The halloween special was the worst, because they punished Edd and Eddy for what Ed did.

I forgot about the Flim-Flam brothers and Samuel Vincent. Thanks for the reminder.

Not a problem.

And I am a gigantic Rainbow Dash fan, but I don't start arguments over it or anything. That' just not me.

*Takes a long puff on pipe*

I'm chill dawg.

And thank you, you're awesome for saying that about Edd. I like all the characters on the show, but Edd is probably down there on my list when it comes to how much I like him. Regardless, Edd is probably the least deserving of punishment out of the Eds, but I'm glad you recognize that he has flaws too and isn't a perfect individual as some Edd fans try to paint him. He can be smug as you said, a nagger, and he does take part in Eddy's scams so he does have to take some of the blame for when they go wrong.

When it comes to the punishment the Eds get, there's actually a good explanation a lot of fans have agreed on, and that's that the kids see the Eds as a group and so when one acts up, they all get it. The Eds are sort of like a local gang in their neighborhood, sort of like the Kanker Sisters (Well, except that the kids are terrified of the Kankers). Basically it's that the kids associate the Eds with each other and thus blame them as a group instead of on an individual basis. Only on rare occasions when the kids clearly see that not all of the Eds are doing wrong, such as in A Case of Ed when Edd helped out Kevin to get revenge on Ed and Eddy, as you mentioned.

And not a problem! Flim and Flam are the man.

...

Well, they're the men, I guess, but man sort of kind of rhymes with Flam- okay no it doesn't.

But I ain't even care.

ah, yes I remember times when Cartoon Network was REAL! I know it's still around but what I mean is when they had good shows on it such as Ed, Edd and Eddy, PPG, Dexter's etc... Now it's all just crap like Regular Show, Adventure Time and Gumball (And a few others,  I cannot be bothered to remember the names of) I used to love watching Ed, Edd and Eddy when I was a kid :)

Hooray for thread revivals! I love Ed Edd n Eddy! It's my favorite cartoon of all time! It's simply brilliant! It was the best that Cartoon Network offered among many greats. Ed is obviously my favorite, because with things like this, who could not like Ed.

I also enjoy the fourth wall humor the show has to offer too. Such as when they reference that it isn't a cartoon, but there is constantly cartoon antics going on. And here is a video I found showing some the voice actors that are on MLP.

Ah, thanks for that video, Mr. Dash. Pretty much sums up one of the reasons why I got into My Little Pony; as a big fan of the voice actors from Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, it was only a matter of time before I had to get My Little Pony a real chance!

Another cool fact is that Jim Miller, who works on storyboards, does/did storyboard work on both My Little Pony and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, and also voiced King Sombra.

No problem! I found that video some time ago and this thread gave me the perfect chance to use it. I was pretty excited to learn about voice actors from Ed Edd n Eddy were also in MLP. Also, That's pretty cool with Jim Miller. It's too bad he couldn't get more lines with King Sombra.

Heh, I know, King Sombra wasn't much of a talker!

But it's pretty cool that Jim Miller got to do lines regardless; I think he did an outstanding job considering that's his only voice acting credit to date!

Thank you for agreeing on Edd. I hate when he does nothing wrong and he gets punished. I remember in one episode, Ed and Eddy were acting up, annoying the kids, and all the kids yell at Edd instead, like WTF?

Another reason that all three Eds get punished is because all of them are based on Danny Antonucci himself, so that may be why. As for the Kankers, if the Eds and The Kids could agree on one thing, is that they despise the Kankers. Plus in one episode when not all of the Eds got punished was "Brother, Can You Spare An Ed," when Eddy was being a jerk and Sarah was less annoying in the episode. Eddy alone got punished for what he did. Also in "Here's Mud In Your Ed," when Rolf and Jimmy targeted Eddy.

Oh yeah, that episode is actually a prime example of what I was saying: the kids see the Ed as a group, so when Ed and Eddy are doing wrong they strike at Edd in hopes of correcting Ed and Eddy's behavior.

And of course, Danny has said that the Eds are based on different parts of his personality. He actually also said that the Kankers are based on some girls he knew, but I certainly don't want to know any more about that... the Kankers are super creepy so I hope that they're exaggerated for the cartoon's sake!

I'm not really fond of "Brother, Can You Spare an Ed" because Eddy truly seems unnaturally cruel in that episode; I know the guy can be a jerk, but that was just ridiculous.. The only thing Ed and Edd did wrong in that episode was eat the jawbreakers, but Eddy definitely did wrong when he abused the two of them just to make the money back.

Rolf is definitely an awesome character, and he's probably one of the funniest characters on the show.

I also hated how Eddy acted in the episode. He tried to keep the money for himself, even after he got his jawbreakers. He could have simply paid back Sarah and left unharmed, but nooooo lol.

I think Richard Cox, voice of Inuyasha and Ranma's male half, also plays one of the bullies. He does do Snails' voice. Ed's and Edd's voice actors are both found in MLP as well, as Soarin' and Flim (of the Flim Flam Brothers, respectively). Eddy's and Sarah/Lee Kanker's VAs are in past MLP shows as well
