My favourite shippings would be FlutterMac and Sparity. It's odd that more people don't like the Spike x Rarity shipping as much. I thought they went well together

As far as shipping goes, I can take it or leave it.  I will make comments on a few pairings though. 

 

Besides the whole "lesbian" thing, fans recognize the great chemistry Rainbow Dash has with Applejack and Fluttershy and it shows in the list.

I'm surprised that ApplePie isn't more popular just due to the name. 

As someone with old fashioned values, I'm glad to see the one canonically married couple, CadArmor, gets a good showing. 

Lyra and Bon Bon isn't as high as I thought it would be considering how often they are seen together. 

Fluttercord was too new to make the OP.  I wonder how it would measure up in the list if it were redone. 

 

And why does Dash have to be a lesbian? I mean, if she is, that's perfectly fine, but I'm guessing most people (not all) just say she is because of the whole tomboy thing. That's kind of BS, and it goes against the mission statement Lauren Faust followed when she took on the show.

 

Not only is Dash a tomboy but she has the rainbow mane and tail too.  Double whammy!

Then if those BG charatcers who haven't said a single word throughout the whole bucking series could basically have worshippers who basically made up their life-stories, why should Soarin' be left out? At least he actually SAID something!! If we decided to give him a fan-personality and stuff, then why should he be critisised and not Lyra and the rest of them??

 

I don't really understand the whole "Fanon" thing.  I don't know why certain made-up ideas about background characters become popular among fans to the point where the fans act as if those character traits actually exist in the show.  It is completely bizarre to me.

 

 

And can anyone tell me why so man fans love the whole "shipping" thing?  Is it just because people enjoy love stories, or what?

I've always thought SoarinDash was adorable.

But since I've read the story "Soarin' With Apples" I also think that SoarinApple (weird, I know) is kinda cute... But I don't wanna disappoint Dashie so I'm stickin to that ^^

And, uhm... Recently I kinda accepted AppleDash... It's funny cos I remember when I first joined the forums, my name was AppleDash something or other and then I realised what it actually meant and I was horrified! But, ya know, the fandom took over... They just seem so right together. And we'll, I'm not a homophobic, so, I don't see why not. There's a part of me that actually wants to see this shipping become canon, but NOPE. I know it's impossible, so do the surest of us for pete's sake! At least I'm over the fact that I like AppleDash, especially since my cousin admitted she liked it to. :3

 

TwiDash also kinda appeals to me... And I've no clue why...

 

But, AppleDash is most cleanly the most popular shipping in the fandom. Or any other with Dashie, to be honest. I think my only reason for that is she's awesome, and we know it.

I, honestly think anything with Rainbow Dash is a popular shipping. I'm not a big fan of marexmare, so I don't really like any shipping unless it's marexstallion. I don't know, the art for the marexmare is just.. just horrible. To me, at least.

I think the reason is she's the most mascuilne, therefore it's the closest to a regular hetero relationship.  Also she seems to be the pursued and not the pursuer.

 

But think back to all the moments with Fluttershy (Hurricane Fluttershy and protecting her in other eps) and and her comradere with Pinkie in the Gilda ep (prankin), Too Many Pinkies (hanging out at the lake), and in Wonderbolt Academy (pinkie in tears) and I think you have the cannon foundation for all the fannon ships.

 

My theories.

 

The truth?  The Rainbow Factory is responsible for all the shipping with Rainbow Dash. If it Dashes, you can ship it!! What can blue do for you.

Well, Wavey, OBVIOUSLY the reason Dash is most shipped is because she's most popular. Also because she's the most crushed on. All the Bronies are secretly in love with Rainbow Dash...ergo...viola.
