Ugh! This episode was bad all over but the whoopee cushion prank is really old and I'm angry Twily was the victim of such a "lazy" prank.

Ugh! This episode was bad all over but the whoopee cushion prank is really old and I'm angry Twily was the victim of such a "lazy" prank.

 

As someone who's been victim of the classic whoopie cushion prank many times in high school, I can agree that Rainbow really sank pretty low THAT time.

Do you miss the more sarcastic/snarky Twilight of the earlier seasons? 

 

Looking back on it, I really miss it as I thought it made her even more relatable to the audience as she said what I'm sure a lot of us were thinking while watching the episodes.

 

Like in this scene from "A Canterlot Wedding Part 1":

@@Sparklefan1234, I miss those moments a lot! I don't like how she's hardly there anymore and the writers' excuse is "Celestia has her doing princess stuff" just like we saw in "Stranger than Fan Fiction". The mane character of the series was supposed to be Twilight from the beginning but that all changed at the end of "Lesson Zero". :(

@@Shimmer Sparkle, I don't think she needs to be in every episode though :P

And let's be honest, Lesson Zero added a much needed change to the show, Twilight was just thrown in for a lot of episodes in season 1 and it hurt some of them.

I forgot Twily was ever like that after all this time.

 

I need to go back and watch earlier episodes again.

You both bring up excellent points.

 

On one hand, She IS the main character and I do miss seeing her in EVERY episode. mlp-tcantbelieveit.png

However, like @Celli said "Lesson Zero" did provide a positive change for the show as it allowed us to learn about the other characters and thus, give them their own opportunities to grow & shine.

And in doing so, make Twilight's appearances seem even MORE special. mlp-tsmile.png

@@Celli, @@Sparklefan1234, I agree that what happened in "Lesson Zero" was a positive change and I'm we've gotten to learn about the Mane 6, the CMC, and other characters. I guess it's the nostalgia talking. And yes, those changes have given us more special adorkable moments.
