MLP seems to have an odd mix of technology - I assume certain things just weren't worth inventing because magic, but other things (like music recordings) needed to be available to those without magic horns...

Seen that the SciTwi playset is basically a lab too.

On another note... nearly did a spittake the other day; was reading the paintball webcomic The Whiteboard and while fixing an espresso machine, the polar bear asked for a Heppler wrench....
