Rarity has been my favorite ever since i watched a Dog and Pony show it showed me she wasn't a one dimensional typical girly characterand i find her over the top antics hilarious some funnier than evenpinkie herself the main comedy aspect of the show.

 

Yeah, Rarity's overdramatic-ness can be cause for hilarity at times. She can go from high to low at a drop of a hat(sometimes literally), and that's certainly one of the reasons I love her, among many other things.

Well, since Rarity has finally ascended to 'best pony' status for me, alongside Flutters of course, I think it would be suitable for me to make an appearance here, eh?

 

Upon first becoming a brony, I admit I never cared much for Rarity, in fact I thought she was a ... bit of a jerk sometimes. Over time however, I realised that I relate to her in more ways than I thought, and she wasn't the jerk that I assumed she was. In fact I grew to like her, even adore her! So I accepted her into my 'favourite pony' list. Many times, she even made it up to 'second best pony', but that never was the case for long, since Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and even Twilight at one point, kept taking that place time and time again. 'Twas a vicious cycle that went on for months ... but everything changed ... when the Rarity nation attacked ...

 

... And that's how Equestria was made! ... Do you wanna hear the story about how Rarity became my 'best pony'?

Yeahh, I've noticed that some people take a bit to warm up to her; wasn't that way for me, so I can't say I relate, but, when people do finally warm up to her, they love her to pieces

I remember it, it was before you joined. It is kind of unlikely considering her crush on Prince Blueblood back in season 1, but some people will believe what they want to believe. you have no idea like how much I want an episode with Rarity and Fancy Pants, maybe not becoming an official couple, but you know, awkardly feeling attraction for each other and blushes and stares here and there.

I think that Rarity's moment with Spike (when they're falling down to Earth) in "Secret of My Excess" and her siding with the Mane Six at the fancy party in "Sweet and Elite" were two of the series' most powerful moments. And her scenes in "A Dog and Pony Show" jumped out at me as being simply amazing — that's when I transitioned from liking Fluttershy the most to her. So many other people have written well of her, so there's little for me to add. Maybe I'll do a character analysis of my own one day, and I suppose that is praise enough — wanting to write an essay on a cartoon character simply for the fun of it.

Rare is amazing. She's got a great voice both singing and talking, gorgeous eyes, an uber cute sister and is the most beautiful pony. By beautiful I mean ties Rain (ssotc) for the #1 slot and that's saying quite a bit. I'm practically obsessed with her, was from the moment I saw those blue eyes get big in s1e1.

you guys probably won't like this, but I'm having a belated 'realization' time with Rarity takes Manehattan, and I'm so bothered by how Rarity was displayed in there and how odd the storyline was.

I was unfair because just right after it, I said wow, that was a good episode, but still thought that was odd. That 'odd' then became dislike and it's true, I did not like it no matter how adorable and cute Coco Pommel is. I forced myself to enjoy it because it was a Rarity episode, it was entertaining, yes, but I wasn't fond of how the storyline was presented. However the plot, the place and the events where all perfect, but the timing was off IMO.

 

I don't know about you, but I put Rarity takes Manehattan into the bottom stack of the list of Rarity's episodes.

Well, after I watched Rarity Takes Manehatten, I realized that I was starting to like Rarity even more. It was so great for Rarity to finally get another episode (and the song was so awesome) so hopefully she'll get another one as well this season . I think Rarity might possibly overtake Applejack for my favorite pony, if she keeps having good roles and good characterization
