Son, I'm a 17 year old without a license in the state of Texas The nearest con is hours away from where I live,  and I can't drive

Yeah the south has never had many cons... though Wisconsin is getting its first pony con this year! YES! and it's only 30 to 45 minutes from where I live! DOUBLE YES! Also by the time it the con rolls around I'll be able to drive and I'm 18 so I can buy all the "special" products from vendors and go in the 18+ panels. TRIPLE YES!

Though to be fair, I'm actually not one hundred percent sure what you'd get from them? I recall you saying you're not exactly impressed by Rarity cosplayers... Panels get boring eventually... Probably'd just be there to make friends.

Main thing would be the pony stuff overall,  though Probably wouldn't be too interested in the panels, but the merch and the overall experience are why I want to go

Those are the two best reasons to go if you ask me. They're why I'd love to go to a con, though I doubt I'll ever get the chance. Only thing that would interest me about a panel really, would be if I could get some merch autographed.

 

The last con in Ohio was in 2012. 2013 didn't get funded and it looks like the same will happen this year. This state just honestly sucks, never anything to do around here unless you want to live at Cedar Point (I hate roller coasters). If I had the funds, and someone to go with I'd go out of state. I severely lack both those requirements though.

I'm a cosplayer so that's an added bonus for me, but I go to cons mostly for the social element. I've gone to enough cons where every dang panel that isn't a 'learn to do X' panel is exactly the same (even those blend into each other because oh my god people don't know how to be effective teachers/lecturers in the nerd world), and I typically don't buy a ton of merch on principal. Cons are a good way to meet people, and the vibe of a ton of people being in the same place all liking the same thing is amazing...

 

So yeah, go the fuck to cons you guys.

Awe. I've never been to a con (anime, video game, board game, brony or otherwise). I feel like it'd be the perfect place to actually talk to people (other than teh intarwebs) given that being a brony isn't necessarily something a lot of people flaunt. Though I'm not sure what the nearest one to me would be (about an hour north of Los Angeles).

Yea, up here it's all just a bunch of rednecks, drugies, and white trash punks with their ricer fart cannon civics and pants around their ankles.  Clearly none of them are the type for cons either.

 

Have I mentioned I hate this state sooo much yet? 

 

 

Anyways... I'm going to go attempt this thing called sleep again, so I'll just go meet Luna in my dreams and go to the best convention ever. Although knowing how my dreams normally go, it'll either turn clop or scary-weird Grimm/H.P. Lovecraft style.

Well, there are loads of pictures on deviantart or in the art-posts on Equestria Daily. But sometimes i just have an idea what would be a cool Rarity pic and search on google if it exists.

The closest thing to a brony convention is Ohayocon. They had quite a lot of MLP panels last January though I didn't hit any up
