Actually she not need being rich. She is artist, who need peacefull place for creation and she have only one dream - making absolutely perfect dresses. (Im not remember, but was in one of the first episodes her dream "making a dress for Celestia itself?") Otherwise i think that Manehattan's and Canterlot's fashionistas and other artists dreams of small peaceful places for working, away from mad and fast life, away from gossip of suripolomares. And Rarity lives in one small and beautiful village, where all are happy and know each other. And nopony counts her cakes and coffecups and not giggle and gosssip, if muzzle soils with cream.

 

And dont forget that she is 1/6 of Celestias strategical lethal weapon, what have no less power than squadron nuclear bombers. She stand higher than all of Canterlot and Manehattan elite.

 

Haters talks always of her ignorance and arrogance and that she thinks always only for self. In part are that true - Rarity's character are not very good, only very strong and calm stallion will abaid those dramas and neurosis and support her.

 

But dont forget that she working in fashion world - there must be agressive and arrogant, if she are shy and gentle, then suripolomares trample her quickly down.

I never said anything about money... What Rarity desires is recognition. And where to get it better than Canterlot or Manehatten?

 

Her haters are not right at all, not even one bit. She is a good and generous pony, she has a great character, she is lovely and loveable. She is not arrogant, and she is not ingnorant. i honestly dont know where you get that from. A stallion that earns her love is lucky, for he could not have gotten a better mare.

 

Raritys character is a rolemodel. A rolemodel that shows that to have to be successful as a woman, you dont have to be as you desribed. Everything you described, she defies. She is the Anti-Suri.

She shows that you dont have to be like Suri, Rarity takes the not-Suri-way, the hard way, the right way.

Rarity shows you do NOT have to be cutthroat to be a success. She took that Sex and the City trope and demolished it to microscopic particles. Nowhere in this show is a better character to epitomize the virtues of the positive business savvy personality! She chases her dream the way we all should ... with grace ... and without betraying your best internal qualities.

Rarity shows you do NOT have to be cutthroat to be a success. She took that Sex and the City trope and demolished it to microscopic particles. Nowhere in this show is a better character to epitomize the virtues of the positive business savvy personality! She chases her dream the way we all should ... with grace ... and without betraying your best internal qualities.

 

 

And the one time she did, it was because she was backstabbed in the worst possible way and she felt terrible about it afterwards.  

 

I love how Rarity Takes Manehattan shows that generosity isn't a virtue just because it's the "right thing to do".  It also can help you be successful and get things done- If you treat others nicely and are generous in your dealings with them, good things will happen to you.  People will then *want* to help you and work with you again.  If you're a dick, on the other hand, people will eventually get fed up with you and leave.  That's what happened to Suri once Coco saw that there was another way.

I agree she's clean and sterile. But one exception is when she ate lots of ice cream when crying and after that, some expensive chocolates. To me, she was like Homer Simpson in that episode.

Manehattan was simply grand. It was in this magnificent metropolis that I learned that while there are ponies who will take advantage of your generosity, you should never, ever let that cause you to abandon your generous spirit. Nothing feels worse than taking advantage of the giving nature of your friends.

 

 

 

After all, it is my friends who pulled me through this debacle. It is my friends who generously gave up their time and all their plans and helped me receive the accolades of all the fashion industry. I was swept up in the cold, callous world of Manehattan, thinking that was all that mattered. But when my friends weren't there to share in my success, I realized that this success was the last thing that mattered. Realizing I'd treated them so horribly - it just wasn't worth it. I never want to be that kind of pony! Why, it may be "everypony for herself" in the big city, but this small-town filly is just fine being the generous pony she's always been - though a little bit wiser and more cautious than she was before.

It is gorgeous though! Especially the lighting!

 

The last rays of the setting sun dance over Raritys curvy body and make her shimmer like the most firey opal. Almost as if the sun does not want to let go of her, does not want to go to sleep, does not want to risk to lose this magnificent sight. It wants to admire her beauty forever.

Luckily there is always another morning. Another morning on that it can kiss Rarity awake tenderly with its first cautious warmth. Another morning where the sun rises, and where Raritys vision of loveliness makes our sun rise.
