Had an idea for an episode with

and

 

Goes like this:

 

I always found it strange that Flim and Flam just left Ponyville after that apple cider competition. I mean they still legally own Sweet Apple Acres, don't they? So they come back and claim it again, forcing the Apple family out. The law is on the brothers side, nothing they can do about it. In her generosity Rares, who is at the farm to help with some decorations for a Apple-family-festival when all of that happens, lets Applejack and her family live with her in her home/boutique.

 

Applejack is really heartbroken, she feels guilty and does not know what to do. The farm means so much for the Apples, it is the home of their family since Ponyville exists, it is their means to get their income, they cannot really live without it.

Rarity tries to help them get their home back, and there is only one real solution in her opinion.

 

She sells her boutique to Flim and Flam in exchange for the Apple land. She gives up everything she worked so hard for, for Applejack and her familiy. It really breaks Rares heart, but she figures that the Apples really need their land to survive, and she is willing to sacrifice her career for them.

 

They somehow get the boutique back of course, somehow.

Rarity and Applejack make passionate love in the Applebarn.

And everypony is happy.

 

Now my problem is:

I have no idea how they get Rares boutique back...

 

They need to of course, but i cannot think of a good way to do it.

Maybe Rares did something generous to one of the Flimflam brothers before that all happened, and he gives her the deed to her house back because of it?

Maybe Applejack does something? No idea...

 

What do you think of the episode idea? Some ideas how Rares and Apples would get everything back? I have no clue at the moment.

Just shooting off the cuff, but you could introduce Flim and Flam's mother. If she is written as a honorable character mentioned but not seen, you just created a backdoor solution. use her as a trigger for why Flim and Flam would invoke the exclusive rights deal (to please their mother) then tie her in as being either one of Rarity's first clients ... Or an old friend of Rarity's own mother.

 

When Rarity loses the boutique ... Ma Flim Flam finally shows up to set her boys straight.

 

Bonus points if you have the Apples build a Boutique on their land after she gives up her home ... which Rarity then decides to turn into a art school!

 

OR

 

Make Ma Flim Flam into a Ma Beagle like antagonist, and Rarity's mother ends up challenging her and the boys to a Dress Off. Flim and Flam don't exactly want to be working there and are relieved when Rares Mothers proves that Fabulousity runs in the family.

 

There are issues with both of these ... they take away focus from it being a Rarity and Applejack centric story ... and position it as a Rarity's family story.

She can be so passionate and enthusiastic when she is happy. Love it when she explodes into pure, honest bliss. The fact that she is usually so regal and elegant makes the contrast even more lovely and charming.
