Being fairly new to the fandom has it's benefits. Not a day passes where I don't find a trove of goodness, images, fics, PMV, etc.  Anyway just stumbled on this Rarity fan song (not easy finding fandom songs about her) :okiedokielokie:

 

I know you have already probably heard this ... but I here's some Rarity thrown at your ears anyway.

As much as I love and adore Pinkie and Fluttershy, I don't think they are the best written characters compared to Rarity. 

I believe Rarity's first great moment was in A Dog And Pony Show. It basically says "You think Rarity sucks? Well, screw you because she's awesome!" She proved herself to be more than just a fashionista, but an amazing big sister, as seen in Sisterhooves Social (albeit she had to learn that), and For Whom The Sweetie Belle Toils. 

 

Yessir! I'm a fan of the idea that she's is actually a favorite of some of the writers, even when it isn't a Rarity centric episode. Heck some believe she has become the 'voice' of the actual creation team since some of her episodes can be taken in a meta context (I also like this idea .. accurate or not). You also rarely hear writers complain about her character being hard to write scenes and lines.

 

Rarity can actually appeal to entrepreneurs, artists, art lovers in general, anyone who emotionally connects with the world around them. What Lauren Faust did with Rarity was a freaking stroke of genius.

Rarity just can do everything.

 

She is smart, talented, beautiful, kind, generous and a good fighter.

 

I don't know how anyone could not instantly fall in love with her after the seemingly fragile flower kicks a manticore in the face. She takes the stereotype of the useless, brainless pretty girl seen so often and bucks it in the face.

 

These girls that you always see running away from the killer in horror movies, only to be messily killed later.

 

Rares would just turn around and give the killer a stern vocal and physical folding.

And she would look gorgeous doing it.

Rarity being cute with her sewing supplies

 

 

One of the many reasons I love Rarity so much  is because of her passion for her craft - she's so passionate, and you can tell she loves what she does, even under copious amounts of stress

Rarity's passion for fashion is one of her best qualities
