Has anyone watched Turnabout: Storm?

For those who don't know, it's a very well done MLP+Phoenix Wright crossover. Rainbow Dash is accused of murder, and Phoenix Wright gets teleported to their world to help defend her. There are many nods to both series, and I won't spoil the surprise, but the prosecutor is a character who is very popular

 

There are many twists and turns, and there are some heart wrenching moments as well. The entire story is very well done and the VAs for the series do a great job as well. I fully recommend that everypony watches it. Although a word of warning, once you start watching, it's almost impossible to stop until you've seen the whole series

The only problem is, I have a prejudice against Dash, and Trixie being my favorite pony means Ill probably be mad about the outcome. Considering I was already calling Twi a stupid purple horse... Yea...

I've seen the first two parts and enjoyed it, it made me want to hunt the Pheonix Wright games down, I need to get the other two parts watched.

I'm a little peeved off that they didn't make the Part 4/4 the final part, they're making a freaking 5/4. I better not have to wait half a year again or I swear I'll lose it. Dash will be set free, or I'll kill the prosecutor! Dash is innocent damn it!

Oh, yes. This one is one of my big bookmarks. The VAs are good, the story is very typical Pheonix, its pretty darn good overall. I recommend it for anyone who used to play that style of games.

Many can't tell, but I love the Phoenix Wright series.

When I play ultimate marvel vs capcom 3, the person I have attempted to master is Phoenix Wright himself.

 

Now the turnabout strom series is going along very well. Captures the series very well.

To my understanding the series is put on hold for some reason. The creators feared this would cause anger among us.

 

BUT

Truth be told I'm okay. If they have to extend the series past the initial 4 parts then I'm okay. Technicaly they went past the 4 part limit when they did part 3 in two parts.

In any case I prefer quality over quantity and if They need more time, then I'm good

Did anyone's heart nearly break when RD told Fluttershy she hated her and never wanted to see her again? Or when the judge gave RD the guilty verdict? I know I could feel my heart drop xD

 

Also, I have a feeling that everything will have been a dream that Phoenix had, since there's the things from his life that couldn't possibly be coincidence (like his hat from Apollo Justice for example).

I wasn't sure if this topic was already made and my apologies if it has been discussed

But upon finally watching the finale of season 3 I had also noticed the fourth part of the fan made series of "Ace my little attorney" I hadn't been a fan of Capcom until I saw this. I am probably in more suspense for the finale of this series than season 4 of the actual show. Not trying to lessen the greatness in the show, but if you get really into it, you would know what I mean.

I was wondering if anypony else has been watching this series and would like to share their thoughts on it.

I have seen this series as well.

Before this I was already starting to get Ito the Phoenix Wright series. I knew the characters, story line, etc. I even started to play the games.

 

I saw this and to my surprise it works as if it were a Phoenix Wright game. The investigation scense, the trial, the breaking of psylocks, it all works. Obviously you don't control what is going on. But if you where to make some adjustments then you can make it into a video game.

The way they present it works in both presenting the feel of a Phoenix Wright series and still retains the sense that you are in Equestria.

 

You can tell that they did their research because the characters act like themselves. Phoenix has his serious and also his humerous moments just like in the game. Yes he does put those expressions when emberresed. The judge also acts like himself in the Pheinix Wright series. The character from the MLP series also act as if they where themselves even in this new situation.

 

There have been complaints about the voices, but for me they are fine. They work with what they have and for me they do an excellent job. Plus they capture Phoenix's voice pretty well.

 

All in all this is a really good series. It has it's moments where it seems to fumble a bit, but it's so small that it isn't noticeable.

 

Point is

It's a good series.

 

For those who haven't seen it I recommend it.

If you like the Phoenix Wright series, you are going to enjoy this.

Even if your not a fan of the series you should give this a chance. You might be surprised how well it works and it may get you into the Phoenix Wright series.

I love this series and I found out about it Right after I found MLP and Phoenix Wright(Which I found at the same time too!!).

I gets a lot of hate though, which I don't understand, For  Its Awesome!

I love this series! I actually hasn't played the series when I first found it. I think I watched the first three and then decided to play the games. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the 4 main ones. I'm also looking forward to getting GS5 whenever it comes out. I've got to say the music in the series is astounding. Related to that, I also like how turnabout storm uses music from all the different games.

The biggest shame about this series is that there was supposed to be a sequel, but so many people on YouTube kept posting comments where they whined about how long it took for episodes to be made and how "terrible" the voices sounded (or at least how they "weren't as good as the originals") that the creator just scrapped the sequel after this was finished. In fact, they were so harsh on the voice actress they had for Apple Bloom (who was nine years old, by the way) that she almost quit the project.

They voices could've been moderately inaccurate for all I care. The plot was what got me the most. I mean do you see how much effort they put into creating all those tie-ins to make sense at the end of it all I can't wait for part (5/4)

While I agree that the voice acting isn't the greatest ever, that doesn't detract from how much I enjoy the series.  If I were to have one complaint, it's that sometimes the ponies don't feel in-character with the show, but even then, they always feel like characters from the Ace Attorney series, so I can generally ignore that.  It's really too bad that they decided to axe the sequel...  Oh well, I guess we still have part 5/4 to look forward to.

When I first found this series I was completely addicted. I went on a 5 or more hour rampage making sure i watched all of the installments. I almost died when I found out there was an episode 5/4 and it hadn't been released yet D:

Absolutely amazing. Its been covered above already, but i must reiterate; The characters' personality's in the series are emulated well, the jokes made were integrated correctly, and the different transpirations (the psychlocks, investigation, etc) were carried out the extent that i felt like i was playing GS. And i like how they kept with the game's style of how the testimonies were portrayed.

 

Maan, do i miss those games (i havent played them in awhile, i still have to play the GK), and Turnabout Storm truly was an awesome refresher to the series. Time to dust off my DS and play some Ace Attorney!

I dont see any reason to complain about the voice acting. I was immensely impressed that they HAD voice actors to begin with . I'm also a big PW fan and thought the series was brilliant, bringing two awesome worlds into one.

 

I honestly wish they could make more, but I dont think that'd be feasible for them .

It must take a long time for them to make them considering the hour and a half approximate time duration, all the story lines to write and the effort of the voice actors. If they didn't make another project ever again after this series I'd still be satisfied. It takes a lot of time an effort to make such an amazing series. Including the fact I don't think they're getting paid much (or anything at all for that matter) to do it.
