Kraznor 33 March 28, 2012 Share March 28, 2012 I found it pretty disturbing actually, as it advocates retreating from society in favor of escaping into fantasy, which is incredibly unhealthy. It had a very negative view of the world (Celestia calls it "cruel" at some point), which seems profoundly ironic given that this is the reality in which MLP exists and we are clearly engaging with it and are inspired by it, so this world can't be THAT bad. It is on us now to take the lessons from the show (and elsewhere, no sense getting too narrow in the sources of inspiration you draw from) and make THIS world (the real world) a better place. That is what MLP means to me and this story neglects that entirely in favor of an impossible fantasy that can never be. So I did find it sad in a way, but for very different reasons. The author and those who are finding it so compelling seem to be missing a part of the show I very much value. According to some survey somewhere, most like Rainbow Dash. Was not expecting that result but I suppose it makes sense.
Twiliscael 3,962 March 28, 2012 Share March 28, 2012 One or two tears were shed. Reminded me of my grandma passing. So much left unsaid after someone's passing... oh dear, what has this show made me. I'm more emotional than ever! and i like it. I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .
Strafe 596 March 29, 2012 Share March 29, 2012 I didn't cry but it made me really melancholy and kept me up all night. "The Gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again." MasterCombine 316 April 10, 2012 Share April 10, 2012 By Celestia. It was...beautiful. There's a lot that I can say, but I'll keep it brief since I should probably be getting to bed soon. I haven't cried like that in a long time. The first time she said "I love you" had me tearing up with happiness. I had tears streaming down my face when he found her in the rain after she ran away. I cried on the way home from work thinking about the story. And, of course, I cried at the ending. All in all, it was amazing. I applaud the author. Well done, sir. Well done. So when was the first time that you read the story, if you have? How did you react? If there have been many posts like this or if this is in the wrong area, I apologize. Gone for good 1,593 April 10, 2012 Share April 10, 2012 Well, I first read it during new years eve when somebody told me that I'd make me cry. I was all like, "lol I don't cry over fictional things" then I read it and began to cry, which then made me try to tough it out which unfortionatly made me cry even further while going a little bit crazy. So because of that, at 12:00 that night I was crying and screaming into a microphone into a skype chat. Fun. 1 Just editing my signature to say that my behavior on here was cringe. I don't regret the friends i made but man i was cringe here

KakeiTheWolf 652 April 11, 2012 Share April 11, 2012 It was so beautiful, emotional, and sad. I cried several times in it, and I assumed years ago I lost the ability to use my tear ducts. the20% 36 April 13, 2012 Share April 13, 2012 This is the one of the only two stories that I have ever read (the other being Bridge to Terabithia) If I found my own little Dashie my life would instantly be 20% cooler!
SpectrumUK_D 45 April 13, 2012 Share April 13, 2012 Incidentally this was the first MLP fanfic I ever read. But yeah....it was kinda sad......actually now I come to think of it, it was this which first made me realise how much more the brony community was than I first thought. FedoraMemes 582 April 13, 2012 Share April 13, 2012 (edited) I didn't actually read it, I listened to it. While I was listening to it, I cried a little bit, mainly because of the reader crying, and the editor put in the Dead Island theme whenever a sad thing happened. Afterwards I cried more, but not as hard as I have cried to some other things. I still think it is overrated, as a lot of people say it's life changing, but I don't really think that. I think of it as a more depressing fanfic. Interesting. I will read it sometime. Is it just on FiMfiction? No, you can either listen to it, or look at it on Google Docs. Dashock Brony 6 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 Well guys...I just finished reading the saddest fanfic ever. My eyes are still throbbing and watering...I just read My Little Dashie not sure if anyone has read it or not. But I really haven't cried this much in 9 years. Have you read it, if so what did you think of it? If you have not, I strongly recommend it. There are also voice overs on YouTube if you're not a fan of reading. Warning, this is a tear jerker. Champion RD92 8,658 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 I found it really sad, but I didn't cry... I don't really get how people can cry over a fanfic. It was a really great story though
Dashock Brony 6 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 I found it really sad, but I didn't cry... I don't really get how people can cry over a fanfic. It was a really great story though It makes me realize what every parent had to go through when the see their Daughter/Son venture out into the world. This is ten times worse because being a normal parent, there is an off hand chance of being with them all of your life. This guy, and Little Dashie didn't have that luxury. They will never see each other again, and I think it's just beautiful how this all turned out, for everyone. Who wouldn't be moved by that?
