gaming Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity

A new Mystery Dungeon game is coming really soon to the 3DS!! This is the first official one since Time/Darkness/Sky.

I've always loved Pokemon games, Mystery Dungeon ones being my favorites. Though around 2011 I broke my DSi and gave up on Nintendo games until I recently decided to look into buying one and saw this, that's why this is new news to my and old new to others I'd assume. But anyways, there wasn't a Mystery Dungeon specific topic so I thought I's create one.

This game looks great. With all the new features like the complete 3D effects, the increased floors in dungeons, and what really interested me when I saw it, the "1-4 players" part. If this means that we will be able to play full dungeons with each other over WiFi then I don't think I'll be moving my eyes from my 3DS screen ever again. :D

I tell you what, given how absolutely fantastic Explorers was, I can't even imagine how they're going to make Gates To Infinity top it.

I have enormous faith in this game. With four years for Explorers to inhale feedback, it's not a stretch to say it might just become my favourite Pokémon game. Thing is, when I first got Explorers, I thought it was this cute little chibi spin-off with not much else to it than arcade gameplay; so when the full-fledged and shockingly dark plot came in, it made it seem even better than if you had applied it to an XBox game for example. Now I'll be expecting great things from Gates To Infinity - but I still think those great things will come to us.

It's a shame about there only being the five starters. I'll still be going for Oshawott, but I guess it feels like my starter-partner combination won't always be totally different to everyone else's. The gameplay and graphics, on the other hand, look wonderful. They've got a satisfying number of new dungeons for us as well. Will definitely anticipate it.

I seen this back some time and I am excited that this is coming out. It looks good, as always, and I just can't wait till it releases. With the new features, they may just topple the past games.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon... I played one of those, Explorers of Time I think, I prefer the main Pokemon series but it was a nice diversion. I think I will likely get this game though, I find the gameplay fun enough and I'm happy to support the developer, Chunsoft, who also make the Zero Escape series which I love, so yeah, I'll probably get this one, can't wait. :)

Yeah that was one of the things that I found sad about it... now I can't choose Riolu and evolve into my favorite Pokemon. :(

And another thing is the fact that I haven't played any games in the 6th generation yet, so I won't have to worry about choosing a Pokemon because I like it best or anything. I guess that's a good thing.

Well no one has, 6th gen hasn't started yet. Technically we are still in the 5th generation.

Anyway I'm really looking forward to this. The only dungeon game I've played is Explores of Darkness. God I loved that game. In fact I was sad when it ended, I wanted the game to go on forever. I mean yeah there is some post game stuff but, meh, I got to the point where I could evolve myself and my partner then I stopped playing. I guess this game will have to hold me over until I can get Y Version.

Oops. I meant to say 5th generation. XD

You should really check out Explorers of Sky. I'ts like Explorers of Darkness but with way more features and story to it.

I never got around to it, I guess because it looked like the same thing but slightly different. Of course I bought Platinum version when I already had Pearl and White 2 when I had White so ehh. I'll look for it just so I can play as Riolu and see what happens to Grovyle and Dusknoir when they jump into the time portal. If my computer was a bit better I would just use an emulator but I can't ever get DS emulators to work.

Yes! I have loved all games in the 'Pokémon Mystery Dungeon' series, and will surely buy this one as well! I do hope this will make me feel the way I felt whilest I played all the 'Explorers' versions. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I actually did sob a little when 'the major final thing' happened, and I want to feel that way with 'Gates to Infinity' as well, if it would be possible. I have to stand with one major thing though; they have to keep it real, not some short-cut story with just nice graphics and sounds. As long as the story is good and the gameplay is great, I will have a good time with it and will most likely spend a lot of time on it. But if it's just some fancy graphics and sounds, I think I will not enjoy it. At all. Please, Nintendo, make work of this game and put a lot of effort in it!

I tend to buy games that are just basically what should have been in the original. I mean a game is a game and I really love gaming. XD

Not only that, but you can also play as Wigglytuff when he first started exploring and was just an Igglybuff. That's a great part.

Then there's things like Spinda's Cafe, Sky Mountain, Secret Stairs, lookalike items... it's generally augmented, and it means replaying it will never be boring.

Eh, I never really liked the Mystery Dungeon games as much as the regular Pokemon games. Since I don't have a 3DS, I won't be able to play it, but I'm glad they're utilizing the 3DS to its full potential.

Explorers is my second ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GAME EVER. Mystery Dungeon is my second best favorite game series, first is Elder Scrolls.

Well, this looks good. Let's just hope it has as good as a plotline as T/D/S, maybe R/B. R/B was alright, Sky was my absolute favorite. I actually like PMD better then the main lines. Best spinoff of a game i've ever played X.X

If we can play with others with wifi...I don't think i'll ever play another game again...from being too sucked in with this game. And it finally has unova, I applaud you.

Well i play pokemon competitively  and i have to say that these games are enjoyable and their stories are good, but its not going to get me to buy a 3ds. The only game that is going to do that is when 6th gen comes out. Sorry not so excited about it.

Definitely going to check out Gates to Infinity. I loved the story with all the previous Mystery Dungeon games, especially Time and Darkness. I'm hoping that Gates to Infinity also hooks us with the narrative.

I can't wait for this Game. As I looked at the Gameplay Videos, I never use moves to attack like that so I just normally use Normal Attacks (Double Attack if Quick and Extra Striker IQ skills equipped) to Conserve the Moves. I enjoyed the previous Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games such as Red/Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky.

It's most likely that I enjoyed Explorers of Sky than the previous versions and I made the game look easy by Transferring the Gummis from Explorers of Time to Explorers of Sky and use them in Spinda's Cafe and then Repeat till I'm good enough.

I like to see more of this Game. I know I don't understand Japanese, but That's just how I get to learn the Japanese Version of the Game.

Oh my....I LOVED Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team...and I played Explorers of Time too. If those were good, imagine this? I also heard it got a good rating, one of the best especially considering it's a spin-off! I hope this game is good! I'm kinda disappointed in the fact that there's no quiz, and there's only Unova Pokemon (besides Pikachu, Espeon, Umbreon). But I still think it will be a great game, and I hope the story is just as good as well! Red Rescue Team made me tear up... :P

Hopefully This game will be good...I'm afraid it'll be messed up. But I trust in Pokemon, and I think that this will possibly be the best Mystery dungeon game yet! GO POKEMON! :D

I'm also very much anticipating this game, having played the first two games. I still don't quite understand why critics gave them such low scores.

The only thing, the ONLY thing found annoying in previous games was that they heavily relied on luck, more so than in the main Pokémon game series. You never knew if you were gonna hit or miss or if you were gonna faint in the next turn plus some of the traps were quite annoying, especially the ambushes. Having multiple Pokémon to fight on all sides is NEVER a good thing. I'm hoping they actually somewhat change this in this game.

One thing I hope they bring back from Red/Blue Rescue Team, that they moved in Explorers, is the Friend Areas. These were a lot better than selecting a Pokemon from a list, you could actually go into their habitats and find them. I hope they bring this back, it's a small thing that shouldn't really bother anyone but it makes a big difference to me.

Yay! Mystery Dungeon! I always liked the others, so I'm really excited to see how this one turns out! (Although, I never actually played the other games...)

I absolutely can't wait for this to come out! The only I'm disappointed in is the lack of starters. I'll definitely be Snivy when I start the game, but I have no idea who my partner should be. I really wish I could be Eevee like in all of the other games and choose Chikorita or Riolu for my partners!

On the bright side though, I have high hopes that the story will be just as enticing and vivid as the ones preceding it.
