Recommended Posts

I've got a bit of a list but I won't list them all. These are the most common ones though, for me anyway:

Acrophobia - Fear of heights

Agliophobia- Fear of pain

Brontophobia- Fear of thunder and lightning

Claustrophobia- Fear of confined spaces

Chiraptophobia- Fear of being touched

Ironically enough, I have hippophobia.  That is the fear of horses, ponies, zebras, hippos, and/or some other animal in that family.

Gimme some time to come up with something new, okay?  MUCH LOVES!!!

I personally don't have any. But, I know someone who suffers from arachnophobia.

Treatment is effective on him and he is much better now.

damn, I thought I was the only one without irrational fears and phobias

I'm afraid of people unknowingly contradicting themselves in a short period of time. Like someone who commands you to sit down, then yells at you for sitting down and shouting that they didn't tell you to sit down. It's your word against theirs, and if somehow you can prove them wrong via film or audio recordings or something, they get mad at you for being audacious enough to bring proof of their mental clumsiness.

No really this is a real fear. It's happened to me quite a few times in life. It destroys any sense of consistency that you may have. When life is just chaos, Discord wins. :o

what are your irrational fears or phobias?

I'm curious.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think this is an irrational fear. It's actually quite a rational fear to be curious about things.

I used to be afraid of fans.(like ceiling fans and anything else in the category) up until 6th grade I thought they were the spawn of satan and would suck me into a different dimension...

Now?

-I have a phobia of cheese. Not like I'm afraid of it, but I think it's the nastiest thing ever. Come near me with even a shred of cheese and I'm gonna take off running.

-fire. I am so terrified of fire. I used to have nightmares where my house was just burning to the ground and I was trapped in it. So I hate fire, always have and always will.

-clowns. The move It totally did mess with my mind when it comes to those damn creepy things...but what made it worse was when me and my sister and dad went to some haunted house a few years ago. There was this creepy friggin clown, my dad knew I hated them so of course he tells the darn clown my name. And I'm already on edge and then I hear my name get whispered I turn around AND BAM CLOWN IN MY FACE.

Socializing- I can handle being around maybe four people or so but throw me into a party and I'm hyperventilating. I can't handle all those random people near me. I have so much trouble not freaking out about what they think of me.

Being the center of attention- I can not. And I mean can not handle having all eyes on me. I start shaking, I sweat really bad, I have hot flashes, I can't breathe and I turn as red as a tomato. It's just so uncomfortable for me. Which is why I always try to keep a low profile in social situations.

Insectophobia. Butterflies scare the shit out of me if I don't realize what they are, I go out of my way to avoid insects I can see, and flying insects divebombing towards me scare the living shit out of me.

Also, fear of drowning.

I have a fear of getting into a car crash, hence why I'm slow at learning on how to drive.
I'm also afraid of the pitch darkness, insects, and not finding love from a girl in the next 20 years.
EDIT: I hate throwing up, and I get scared when I have to throw up.

I have a fear of poisoning and diseases. I don't know when it happened, but i think it might be recent. I'm getting nervous around poisonous materials or venomous animals (even creatures which i like, like spiders and snakes, if they carry venom). I wash my hands a lot, and sometimes (even without noticing) i hold my breath when i meet with a sickly person.

A little bit arachnophobic, but not too much. However I'm terrified of rings on my finger, even partially. Get the tingly feeling of the heebie jeebies when one is tried to be put into place. Also seeing others struggle with a ring on their own finger warrants the same creepy sensation.

  1. Automatic toilets
  2. Public toilets (Well... that's really not irrational since I'm transgender, but a lot of people think it is.)
  3. Balloons
  4. Fat on food
  5. The color red

I'm afraid of those, but I'm not afraid of spiders... :wat:

Well, I have social phobia. I'm not afraid of social interactions. I just don't have social skills, so starting a conversation is hard for me.

I may also havge entomophobia, which is the fancy name for insectophobia, the fear of insects. I just don't like the flying ones, especially when they aim for your face :v

Irrational fears? The fear of getting into serious trouble and punishment/discipline. I've had plenty of irrational fears in the past, but I've reasoned them out as to why I shouldn't be afraid of them.
