Phobias?

Spiders. I have faced bullets, bats, and blades but those ugly eight legged basterds freak me the hell out. Not little ones but the big ones like brown recluse and the like. It gives me the shivers just thinking about them.

I used to be terrified of the Child's Play Chucky character to the point of shaking when I saw it. (I was really young when I saw the movie) Though at one point I re-watched all the movies while skyping with some friends and I actually kind of liked them now.

Other than that I get really scared of going blind/deaf or something happening to my body or diseases sometimes more than usual people would.

Needles.  I remember having to be pinned down by my mom/two nurses and a doctor to get a vaccine. I was too strong for my own back then and bees! I had a yellow jacket burrow in my ear that was eating at the wax when I was 10.

I am afraid of talking in front of groups of people (i end up shaking really bad  when i have to present something for a class), bees and wasp, the dark(more precisely whats in the dark), blow dryers, and i also have Zuigerphobia (fear of vacuum cleaners) the last two are probably because i have very sensitive ears

Not really a phobia, I just tend to keep my distance from little critters; All the amphibians, no matter how small or large (yes, frogs). Same when it comes to reptiles (yes, turtles). Most insects and arthropods; altough pests like mosquito don't frigten me. Of course they still bug me (dat pun). When it comes the mammels, only rodents I think. Oh, and birds, I stay away from all of them.

More "phobias": The dark is scary, anywhere there is complete darkness (especially closets n' stuff, or at night in the forest) my mind fills in horrific images, like the boogie-man and other monsters. Now, none of these things completly shut me down, or give me a panic attack, I just mostly feel really uncomfortable around them. Which I guess what a phobia is?

Edit: Lol, my fears are so typical.

They spit vinegar that's highly concentrated, that's scary, right?

Holy crap! That looks like a creature out of one of H.P Lovecraft's stories.

I'm really afraid of roaches,I don't like the way they look or move. I never want to touch one of those.

I used to fear getting shots. I got over it now, since I got older. But, I still fear bees. They once scared me from a park when I was little, and I stayed in my house for days. I will never and I repeat EVERRRR!, like bees again.

I have serious issues with animatronic people. Think Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland... Yeah, I can't do it, they freak me out. I'm not exactly sure why...something to do with that they LOOK human but don't quite move like humans. And when they position themselves where they look right at you...I almost feel like it's real and it's looking at me specifically. And I know that sounds stupid but it's just one of those irrational fears that people have. I think the proper term is automatonophobia.

I'm going with a pretty common one here and saying spiders. My god I go apeshit insane near a spider and am totally irrational in my reactions, but I can't help it. I do have this great story of swimming in a pool when a black widow fell in. Yeah, that was fun. It involved much thrashing and screaming impressively loud for a 12 year old boy.

I have a common fear of heights, not much of a phobia though cuz I can look down from a mountain and be all 'king of the world'

Its only on rollar coasters I have a hard time :L

But besides that, a good phobia of mine is insects/arachnids.

I hated insects since I was little. THe moment I got the phobia was when a Wasp stung me right in the left arm, and yes it did swell up like a balloon.

+, insects just look gross with their bones being on the outside.

Dragonfly.

Huge Dragonfly.

I hated that day.

Now im ok with little dragonflies like the ones when you're tubing in the river landing on me, but gigantaflies are a no.

AND SPIDERS.

8 legged arseholes that still like to chase me even when they're dead.

BIG GIGANTIC WOLF SPIDERS.

*headdesk*

CONCLUSION: Im afraid of insects/arachnids. Partially heights.

It can be really wierd, but i cannot stand something, anything that touch apples of my eyes. So i really cannot even fix my vision surgecally, cuz i have to drip medicine on my eyes, but any time i see the drop i just tighlty shut my eyes.

Second of my fears - is beeing on a highs, where i can easily fall - like roofs of high buildings, or rooms without glass in a wide window openings. I just feel, that i want to fall, so i tried to pull over to the ground.

Last of my greatest fears, that i think of, its needles. Cannot actually explain it, but i shiver anytime when i see how needles piercing a skin... brrr...

Agrophobia. The fear of sexual abuse. Why? I don't know, I'm just paranoid.

Entymophobia. The fear of insects. I see one, and then I can't sleep.

I don't have too many, but I freaking DESPISE clowns, they're freaky. Oh and I kinda can't look at a magenta pony with smiling flowers on her flank the same way ever again. Thank you Cheerilee's Garden. *shudder*

I am afraid of heights, bugs (except spiders and ladybugs), gremlins, and those ghosts from Sonic Adventure 2. The last two are not "true" fears, but gremlins creeped me out, and those ghosts always made my heart stop when I was younger.

Well I have a clinical fear of Mosquitos due to my painfull incident with larvae trying to burrow into my brain. This is known as entomophobia. I also have isopterophobia which is a fear of wood eating insects. I don't like insects.

I hate spiders.. They are just so freaky.. When I see one, I freak out and

scream. If the spider is actually MOVING, I drop everything and run. I won't

even come back to kill it. I just leave.

Once, there was this Wolf Spider (big ass spider) that was in my room, under my clothes on my floor.

I jumped away, and I was cornered. I was scared out of my mind. Luckily, it didn't run after me.

Instead, it ran behind my bed. It was about midnight, and I needed to go to sleep.

Scared, I quickly went under my blankets and fell asleep after like an hour of being scared.

I never seen it since.

That sounds terrible. I once saw a brown recluse, just hanging on the bathroom door, many years back. It was HUGE. It didn't move, but I hauled ass out of there as fast as I could go. Spiders, man... T_T

And heights. They paralyze me with fear.

Crush. Kill. Destroy. Swag.

Arachnophobia - Fear of all arachnids. I cant even look at photographs of them with out feeling like i want to cry :'(

Trypanophobia - Fear of injections. I cry every time I have to have one, or a blood test....

Amnesiphobia - Fear of Amnesia. I'm absolutely terrified of losing my memories and forgetting who I am and who people are that are important to me.

Androphobia or Arrhenphobia- Fear of men. Mainly older men in my case. I cant be left alone in a room with a man (Only exception to this is my boyfriend and my close family) so I guess this can also go under Agraphobia or Contreltophobia - Fear of sexual abuse.

Claustrophobia - Fear of confined/small spaces. I start having a panic attack and I cant breath properly :/

Glossophobia- Fear of speaking in public or of trying to speak. In my case Fear of speaking in public, I cry at the thought of having to do it.

Oh and i'm not scared of the bugs themselves but I'm scared of the bigger ones flying close around me :s

Now I have written it down I realise i am actually terrified of a fair few things.... ;-;

No, I don't have any phobias and am happy about it. But some of them are really strange, like anatideaphobia (fear of ducks) or koro (irrational fear the one penis could shrink which will kill you).

When I was younger, I was really afraid of spiders and being in alone in big rooms or in the dark.

  • 2 weeks later...

Apeirophobia, fear of eternity or infinity...Trust me, this sucks, where as everyone's version of "afterlife" or lack of encompasses this, my fear is that heaven or hell for eternity would bore me, forever, and endless nothingness is equally upsetting. Thus the idea of "quantum immortality" is incredibly terrifying for me, as well as 'eternal recurrance" I've spent a good chunk of time in panic attacks desperately searching for some solice over the internet that these theories hold no water...Most of the time I'd get a yes, but sometimes I'll forget about all the shit I've been through in my head trying to logically debunk those theories, only to worry about it later...

However, reincarnation doesn't bother me, I think it's the idea of existence in the same body or out is upsetting, so their is that...Also a lot of people have the same fear, I mean, It's not a common fear, but knowing other people share it kinda helps.

That's the biggest one, I used to be deathly afraid of hurricanes and loud storms, that went away more or less with therapy.

Had heart attack. ;_;

That scared the living hell out of me. I have a fear of insects. And a don't like pitch black darkness. I still sleep with a night light.

Don't judge me.
