On tumblr redundancy.

It seems like every idea I have for an ask blog tumblr has been done about five times already.  One of my main ideas only has one other blog that I can find... but still, I can't get over feeling like it would be rude, or seen as unoriginal.  Though I get the impression that the fandom is rather accepting of that.

 

So, I guess what I'm trying to do here is make sure of that/get some reassurance.

I'm rather ignorant on how a tumblr blog gains its popularity in the first place, as well as how many there actually are and how their fanbases may overlap, but haven't other tumblr blogs flourished because of their similar qualities? What I mean is that, if one finds an ask blog tumblr enjoyable, wouldn't a tumblr that uses the same idea with a new twist (character/art-wise, etc.) be just as entertaining? You probably want to avoid ideas that have been used too much, because those only become redundant and boring to the viewer, but other ideas may still seem interesting.

 

I wouldn't see the use of your idea as being rude or unoriginal unless it appears to be a blatant copy of one that's already in use; it's not like people can help individually inventing the same ideas as others!

_{Well blanky are you planning to be a text based ask blog or were you doing to do picture along with it which is a bit more interesting. I guess we'd have to see how close your idea is versus what's already out there to really comment completely. Also keep in mind that tumblr lets you pick and change your url's for them so it also is a mtter of what url is taken already or not.}

Eh, I don't really care about Tumblr that much. I wouldn't really care if it's been done before. Maybe yours'll be better. Don't worry, eventually you'll find something completely original.
