That's actually a common thing for many when it comes to rarity. At first, I wasn't to fond of her, until I saw her more. Now she's my 2nd favorite pony:)

I used to hate Pinkie. I thought she was really obnoxious, and wished she would just shut up. Now, she's my second favorite pony. I think I just needed time to get used to her antics.

The first couple of episodes, I hated Rainbow Dash.  Now, I like her.  I've only seen season 1 and the first ten or so episodes of season 2 so far, so that could still change.  Other than that, it hasn't happened.

Hi , the topic you started about hating Rarity at first but liking her later was very similar to this thread so I have merged them. 

 

On this topic I don't have anypony I hated, but I will say that Pinkie Pie has grown tremendously on me.  I thought she was just a silly, one-dimensional party head at first.  I have since learned that she's a multi-faceted, complete character, just like the rest of the Mane 6.

I never found any enjoyment for PinkiePie until season 3 and the season 4 episode "Pinkie Pride"

 

I also didn't care for Rarity much until season 4.

 

But now I love them!

Applejack: As a person who rarely goes outdoors and spends all of his time watching MLP or playing Pokemon or something, I diddn't understand the basis of Applejack's character. She enjoys and appreciated the feeling of a hard day's work, and I don't. All the other Mane 6 I can relate to, just not applejack. Plus the fact that she's been pretty useless in her episodes in past seasons. With the exception of like, Super Speedy Cider Squeezy and Over a Barrel. But in Season 4 She's gotten a hell of a lot better, she works very well as a supporting character in an episode, like in Sisterhooves Social, Look Before you Sleep, etc. And now I actually really appreciate her as a character.

For me, it was Rarity. She used to be my absolute least favorite pony. But then, something just clicked, and she became my second favorite. I can't really explain it.

Rarity I use to hate just because like most thought she was such a jerk. Now though I am starting to get her character and loving it 

The CMC I am not sure I just really disliked them for no reason O.o Now though I enjoy their episodes and them greatly.

I strongly dislike Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, but who doesn't? ^^

 

I think I may have disliked the CMCs (maybe!), but now they're some of my favorite side characters. ^^

Actually, I remember something now. Earlier, around Season 2, the hype around Luna was so intense it left a bitter taste in my mouth and I found myself disliking the Princess of the Night. But over the past year or two I've cooled down on that and realized she really is cute. Still overrated as hell, but not worthy of hate.

When I saw a short clip with the show in it (I haven't watched the show yet) I thought Rarity was a selfish, spoiled, and mean character. But as soon as i watched the show I mentally slapped myself for judging her when I havent even watched the show yet! She was actually kind, generous, and would give anything up for her friends.
