No, I don't think it's a mistake. Imagine if her face were facing directly at you. It gives her an insane/evil expression. It's just the kind of face a bad guy would have. I think it's cool that they added that in as a detail in the mirror.

It was probably visually distracting to have both eyes open as seen through the mirror, because her reflected eye would be pointed at a weird angle. Thus they simplified the problem by eliminating it and closed the eye.

That's an animation error right there. Something that can quite easily be overlooked by animators, a mirror.

Are there any other notable errors besides the freckles? Because the freckles are the only ones I seem to notice often.

I have noticed 2 things

1. During some episodes a lot of adult ponies were turned into blank flanks

2. During episode 6 I saw Derpy with no derp.... Eyes were fine.....(after fight)

One time, Twi's cutie mark was replaced with a pentagram, and Spike was a demon, and instead of sending letters to Celestia they performed Satanic Rituals. Anybody else catch that error?

Anyhoof, there's a surprising amount actually, clipping/layering stuff that just shouldn't be happening. Not like its some high production value or something but still.

Most of them you have to be looking for them to notice.

If you're not trying to look for them, you usually won't find them. This is a good thing.
