Let's evaluate character distribution on season3

My biggest problem with season 3 was the 2 spike episodes. I didnt watch Spike at your service all the way through and Just for side kicks was a pointless filler episode, although I am happy we got to see Tank again. Most people would have been happier if Spike at your service had been a Rarity episode and Just for side kicks had been used to make the finale into a 2 parter. But never mind someone somewhere thought spike needed 2 episodes and unfortunately that is what we got. Here is to hoping season 4 has better character distribution and preferably no spike episodes.  

actually I liked the time dynamic of Just for Sidekicks and Games Ponies Play, but unfortunatelly both episodes aren't that great, though I enjoyed the CMC in JFS, GPP was poor episode with a very unrealistic and poor problem solving at the end of it.

 

 

 

They said at Unicon, that Spike at Your Service was supposed to be a Rarity and Spike episode, but thet changed it to Applejack instead if Rarity because they though Rarity was too cruel

for some reason I would like to know about this Rarity and Spike episode to see how "mean" she actually was to him. I don't doubt it but I'm just curious.

 

 

I definitely disagree that the two spike episodes were his worst. Well... okay, I see your point with Spike At Your Service, but that was a fabulous episode for the Mane 6 and I still liked it a lot more than Dragon Quest. But the ending of Just For Sidekicks is so heartwarming! And I loved AJ's episode, so yeah. It was my favorite episode she had, actually. Full of all the Applejack traits I wuv about her. In my top 3 episodes of all time.

I bucking loved AJ in that episode! and I will remember one of the best lines from Rarity on that episode! and the inclusion of the timberwolves is amazing because it shows how mysterious the Everfree forest can be. But the whole dragon code thing was really stupid to me, it felt like filler.

• Why didn't we have a Rarity episode this season? Meghan admitted her initial tweet about the episode was premature. The internet does not forget! Anyway, Rarity turned out to be pretty mean to Spike in the initial treatment, so the episode went to Applejack instead. And so we got "Spike at Your Service."

The only thing they ever said that was that Rarity was mean it, so they likely scrapped it to prevent another shitstorm like Mare Do Well or Twilicorn

A shitstorm of which kind, I know that in Mare Do Well Rainbow was a major b*tch, but why Twilicorn? she was completelly fine and the way she became a princess was very clear, straight to the point and convincing enough to me. Besides, Spike always get treated bad all the time, what can be worse than that

I meant shitstorm in general, since both caused a lot of fans to get upset, though MDW level is probably more appropriate, since it could've pissed off a lot of Sparity fans
