Yeah.  One time in chemistry, we had to light a bunsen burner.  Mine wasn't working for whatever reason, so I started to play around with it.  When I lit it again, a huge flame burst out of the top and almost lit the cabinets on fire.  I played around with it some more, and then the flame started to come out the bottom of the Bunsen burner.  I had to run over to the gas valve and cut the gas.    It was a pretty traumatic experience.
